I've never actually written a FanFic for GTA IV. So I said, "What the hell?" I haven't actually seen the conversation between Kate and Niko in the car, so I'm just making this up on the spot...

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the GTA characters.

For Puppypaws4. Hope you enjoy this!

Niko Bellic. He was probably the man of my dreams. But it's not like I could tell him that. I assumed he liked me too, but I couldn't be too we went out on a date, I always told him we were just friends. I wanted that to change...I got a call from his cousin, Roman a few weeks ago.

"Kate McReary?" A man with an accent similar to Niko's said.

"Umm..yeah. Can I ask who's calling?"

"This is his cousin, Roman. He told me that he really likes you, so I'm inviting you to my wedding."

Oh, so he does like me? "That's really sweet of you."

"Don't tell him I said so, though. He'll probably kill me..."

I laughed. "Most likely..."

So, here I was, standing at the curb, waiting for Niko to pick me up so we could go to the wedding together. He pulled up in a red Cavalclade, wearing a black tuxedo. He looked really sexy, I had to say...

"Hey, Kate. You look nice." He told me.

"Oh, thanks..You too." I felt myself blushing.

We were speeding down the road to the chapel on Algonquin. I don't really like the way Niko drives. I'm always afraid were going to crash.

"Kate, can I tell you something?"

"Sure, anything."

"I...I really like you. Like...as more than...a friend." He stammered.

I laughed nervously. "I like you too...as more than a friend."

"Really? That's great!" He exclaimed.

"Yeah, I'm really glad you like me too."

"So, what should we do about it..?" He asked nervously. "Sorry, I don't mean to be so straightforward..."

"It's fine. I guess...I guess...we can try the dating thing. See how it goes..." I told him softly.

"Okay. So, it is official?" He glanced over at me. We were at the chapel.

"Yeah. Yeah, we are." I smiled. I was really happy about this.

We got out of the car and walked over to a group of men that Niko knew. He whispered their names in my ear. Brucie, Florian, Badman, Jacob... and Roman, his cousin. His bride, Mallorie, was a beautiful girl. She wasn't wearing a huge white dress, like I had expected. Instead, she wore a simple white pantsuit. Her hair was tied into a messy ceremony wasn't too long. "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." They kissed and everyone applauded. I smiled. I wished Niko and I had a wedding like this one day.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside to see Roman and Mallorie off. Niko's arm was around me, protectively. Everyone was so happy...Then, a black car pulled up...with a man that held a gun...and he fired three bullets...One hit the church wall...one went off into the trees...the other...hit...Niko...

I couldn't tell if he was dead. I don't think he was; his chest was moving slightly. I dropped down to him. Everyone suddenly surrounded me, Mallorie's arm was around my shoulders. I was sobbing hysterically.

"Niko...please don't leave me..." I sobbed.

"Kate...I'm sorry we didn't...get to be together..."

"Don't say shit like that! You're gonna make it.."

"Kate...no I'm not...I need to tell you two things..."

"What is it?" I wiped my tears away.

"I'll always love you..." He whispered. He was on the edge, I could tell. This is what my father sounded like before he died.

"And...You were the one who was supposed to get shot...He wanted me to suffer without you, not the other way around. I'm sorry Kate. I should've never gotten close to you..."

Those were the last words he ever spoke to me. An ambulance arrived not too long after he died in my arms. Mallorie cried with me. I was completely devastated. I didn't even tell him that I loved him back. Now, it was too late.
