A/N: Season 7, episode 16. Logan comes home drunk from work. Can Rory convince him that everything will be okay? I don't own Gilmore Girls!

The apartment door opened. Rory opened her eyes. Logan was home, finally. It was three o' clock in the morning! She saw by the streetlights shining through the windows that Logan was taking off his coat. He tossed it across the couch and missed, sending something glass crashing to the floor. Rory snapped on the light. "Logan?"

"I'm sorry...I'm sorry..." he slurred softly, wincing as she got out of bed. "Go back to bed. Go back to bed." Rory knew something was wrong. He was drunk, and had been drunk before, but he was holding one arm against his chest and it seemed that he wasn't walking normally.

"Logan, it is really late. It's three in the morning!"

"I know, I'm sorry, go back to bed." he kept repeating the same things over and over. "Sandwich. Cheese. Bread." He stumbled over to the fridge and opened it, extracting the makings of a sandwich.

"Logan, what's wrong? Were you at work?"

"Til...ten, yes I was." Logan confirmed. "Then Phillip and I went for a drink. A little drink. Became a big drink. Lots of drink."

"You're not speaking in complete sentences. Are you okay?"

"Yes!" he said, hotly. Defensively. "No. I don't know." He struggled with the package of bread.

"Here." she took over the sandwich making. "You're making a mess."

"I already did."

"Are you hurt?"

"What, then?"

"I need to sit. I don't want a sandwich."

"Okay." Rory led him over to the couch and urged him to sit. "What happened?"

"He called me earlier, Phillip did. Said somebody owned it and waited until someone stupid with deep pockets bought in so they could sue."

"Owned what?"

"Internet platform. The one I just threw my entire trust fund into."

"It was a copyrighted idea and now we're being sued."

"How did this happen?"

"I don't know." Logan shook his head and tears came to his eyes. "I just don't know. I do know that I'm screwed, that we're all screwed, that I now have no money whatsoever, that my father will never let me forget this and that I am a major, all-star idiot."

"Logan..." Rory wrapped him in a comforting embrace, but Logan shrugged out of it and tried to stand. He collapsed back onto the couch.

"I don't know how this happened."

"I don't know, either, but we'll figure it out. Together."

"A plucky attitude won't get me out of this!" Logan lost his temper.

"I didn't mean that it would." Rory said, quietly, not even reacting to the slam. "I meant that I won't abandon you."

"Why are you so good to me?" he asked her, leaning into her.

"I don't know. Maybe because I love you."

"I love you, Ace." Logan seemed like he was coming out of the stupor. "I love you and the fact that you never give up on me. You really should. I don't deserve you."

"Just keep telling yourself that." Rory took him by the hand and helped him stand up. She knew as he went back to the kitchen to eat the sandwich she had made that they would get through this and it would all be okay.
