Ah, pointless angsty, weird, fluffy drabble. :/
I'm going to casually justify this drabble by telling you that it's 1 in the morning and I can't go to sleep so this baby came out. My muse is running extremely low so if you want, send me some inspiration? request a TT fanfic or something? Check my profile out for info and I'll do my best to make it for you.
On with the really short drabble!
Why am I the way I am?
Hearing those words escape from her lips was enough to send Gar over the edge. This was how it was always going to be for her. he realised that now and it took all his willpower not to scream. He felt so helpless because he could never do anything to change the way she saw herself.
He didn't know what else to do. He didn't know what else to say. Comforting words meant nothing to her. time would be spent wasted on the nothings he could say.
Instead, he chose to walk over her, his stride long and rushed and he saw her shrink back but he ignored it. He went to her and grabbed both of her hands, linking her slender fingers with his rough and callused ones. His grip was strong and after giving a gentle squeeze, he linked her arms around his neck and brought his own to her waist, clutching them tightly. The gesture shocked her and she recoiled but he made sure she held on by pulling her closer to him, making their bodies press onto each other's tightly. The warmth seeping off him clouded Raven's and she blinked several times just to keep her emotions at bay. Her heart was racing but she felt his heart beat with her chest; it was slow and steady.
"You're the way you are because it's who you are. Stop degrading yourself. You're perfect to me because of your flaws, Rave."
He lowered his head and softly kissed her forehead. His lips were warm and as much as Raven hated depending on others, this time, she felt that Gar could possibly be the only person she would ever need in the entire world. Just feeling the kiss on her forehead sent nothing but warm comfort throughout her entire body; as if her system recognised this as a form of meditation, an escape... happiness.
Before she even properly said a 'thank you', Gar had looked at her in the eyes and said "you're welcome," to which she replied with a sigh.
"You're too cocky when it comes to these things," she whispered, absentmindedly toying with the base of his hair on his nape. Her fingers brushed lightly on his skin and shivers ran down his spine. He liked it. a lot. The tickling sensation gave him goosebumps and he softly groaned.
"Of course I am. It's me," he said as if that explained everything. Raven shook her head and smiled. Her smile was genuine and she could see his eyes light up.
"Thank you," she said and this time, being a little braver, her eyes fell on his lips and she kissed it; quick and soft. The blush creeping on both their faces were a tad obvious and they broke apart; Gar rubbing his arms, clearly abashed and Raven just standing there mutely.
"Uh, that was..." he began but Raven gave him a sigh and patted his shoulder.
"You're not the only one who can be cocky, you know."
