Summary: Ellen's last moments were not without hope and certainly full of emotion. The title and last line are adapted from Dylan Thomas' Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night.
Hellhounds are at the door. Several emotions compete in Ellen's chest, making it hard to breathe.
Pride that her baby daughter grew up so beautiful and brave.
Sorrow at a young life cut brutally short.
Satisfaction that she wouldn't be far behind, as Jo closes her eyes and sighs her last breath.
Fear tinged with hope - because Death is waiting patiently, resting thin hands on his silver-topped cane, and she doesn't know what will come after for her and Jo.
Fury and determination and defiance, as she tightens her grip on the detonator.
Time to rage against the dying light.
A/N I like to think that Death himself would have come for the Harvelles because their sacrifice deserved that mark of respect.
