[Author's Note]

Hello, people! Ever since I started watching PewDiePie's let's play of To the Moon, I've wanted to write a FanFiction about it! So here I am. This is just gonna be a OneShot about Neil and Eva, so enjoy! Tell me in the reviews if I should keep writing about Neil/Eva (Neva?) And tell me if you liked this story!

Neil sat in the car, in the passenger's seat after the—accident near Johnny's house. Eva was inside the gas station, it was the first one they'd spotted in ages. He sat there, simply thinking.

When we were on the bridge, in the memory… I tried to take her hand. Why did she refuse? Jesus, am I really that repellant?

He put his head in his hands. He had wanted to show Eva that he cared about her for a while now, but it had never been successful. She would always brush him away, and coldly at that. The driver's door opened, and there stood Eva, wearing some grey sweatpants and an orange t-shirt. It felt strange to see her wearing normal clothes.

"Hey, doofus. Do anything stupid while I was gone?" Eva asked him, getting into the seat and fastening her seatbelt.

Neil sighed, and gave her an annoyed look.

"No, but I did something stupid in John's memories." He huffed at her.

"Trying to stop me from moving River? Yeah, that was stupid." Eva grinned at him.

"No, that's not what I mean." He sighed.

"Well what do you mean?" She asked. He could tell she was getting impatient.

Neil looked at her. Should he tell her? Would she just ignore him again? Finally, after thinking it through a while, he made a decision.

"Jesus Christ, Neil, stop staring, it's creepy." Eva told him.

Neil rolled his eyes at her and stuck out his tongue.

"Okay, fine, I'll tell you what's bothering me. Only if you promise not to laugh, 'cause I'm being completely serious." He said.

"All right, I won't laugh, Neil." Eva promised.

Neil sighed inwardly, turning away from Eva for a moment before facing her again.

"You know when we were on the bridge in the memories, watching the rocket?" He asked her coldly.

"Yeah, what about it?" Eva asked, clearly surprised by his tone.

"I tried to hold your hand." He told her.

Eva looked at him, shocked.

"Neil, I—I know you did. Why are you so upset?" She asked quietly.

"You should know why I'm upset!" He said rather loudly.

"Because I didn't hold your hand back? Because I just brushed you away?" She questioned him, still quietly.

"Yes! Because you didn't hold my hand! Eva, I'm in fucking love with you, okay?" He said.

As soon as it slipped out of his mouth, he gasped for a second, and covered his mouth. At the same time, Eva looked over at him, more surprised than he'd ever seen her. Her brown eyes were wide, and her mouth was open in a little 'O' shape.

"Oh, fuck. Uh, forget I ever said that." He told her, wishing real life had a 'reset memory' button.

Finally, Eva snapped out of it, and spoke.

"I don't think I can forget that." She said, still staring at him intently.

Neil cursed inside his head; words that would make a sailor cringe.

"Neil. You look angry. Let me explain." Eva added.

He nodded at her, and he could feel himself turning red.

"When I didn't take your hand, it was because… Well, because I didn't want the first time we'd ever hold hands to be in somebody else's memory." She told him, looking thoroughly embarrassed.

Neil looked at her, shocked.

"Wait, so you do like me?" He asked.

Eva giggled.

"When you say it like that, you sound like a second-grader." She told him.

At this, Neil laughed, grabbed Eva's hand, leaned in, and kissed her. And she kissed back.
