While hovering over the sink in her large master bathroom, Cricket glanced at her phone. 13...12...11...it counted down, when it reached zero she looked down at the marble countertop to find out her fate. She and Blake had talked about having another child but never really tried. They knew it would be a bit tough do to one key detail pertaining to Blake, he is gay. They figured that if it happened, it happened. A few weeks before was their anniversary, and they got very drunk. They had done this once before, almost seventeen years ago. The result was their daughter, Alexandra. In the past four months, she has had three negative tests. She never wanted to do this originally but if this one was negative again she would be devastated. She didn't even need to look at the box to know what the test said. Those two little pink lines were a like the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel for Cricket. She could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Cricket called for Blake so she could tell him the news. First she called in a normal tone, he didn't respond, so she called for him a second time in a louder tone that alarmed him. When he appeared in the doorway, he franticly asked "What's wrong, Crick?" but he then saw Cricket had a big grin on her face. "We did it, Blake." She exclaimed. "Did what, sweetie?" he wondered. "We are gonna have a baby!" she happily announced to her loving husband. This was like sweet ambrosia for his ears. He was ecstatic to finally have a chance at having a little boy. "Baby, that's amazin' news" he told her.
They were overjoyed the first time they got to see their baby. It was like a little miracle. After a few months passed they were able to find out the gender, they had agreed that this time they wanted to know the sex of the baby. It was in fact a baby boy. Blake was just over the moon knowing that he had a little football player. They knew he needed a "D" name to keep their alphabet idea going. Danny, Dakota, Dylan, Devin and Dallas were just some of the names that they had suggested to each other but they couldn't agree on one, until someone said Dana. Cricket and Blake loved the name. They also picked Job as his middle name, which had been known for a while.
