Hello. My "Nocturne" is new and improved! Read and review. Seriously.

Disclaimer: I don't own Transylvania or Castlevania or any of it's characters except Neculai Balcescu, Laterose Drake, the idea of this story, and Wind-Dancers.

June 14, 1799

It was a warm summer night. The night was very peace and it was windy, but not too windy. The night was quiet. Nights like this were rare in Transylvania, but when the Transylvanians had a night like this one…well they appreciated and savored it, knowing they had some centuries left until Count Dracula returned. All were sleeping and all were happy and worried-free. All except two: Maria Renard and Neculai Balcescu. Neculai had long, thick, brown hair with tan skin and gray eyes. He wore a red vest, black trousers, red tasseled Hessians boots, and black wrist-length gloves, and he was the same age as Maria. Maria and Neculai were wide-awake and full of worry for Laterose Drake…..and for Alucard.

"Maria, do you think Lady Drake is safe with Alucard?" asked Neculai. Maria sighed.

"I don't know, Neculai. I know Alucard would never hurt her, but…." she trailed off.

He nodded in understanding.

"But you don't know if he'll attempt to drink her blood if his desire for blood takes control and, thus, involuntarily hurt her," the young man finished.

"Exactly," she said.

The young man sighed. If Alucard were human and if Laterose wasn't a Wind-Dancer this wouldn't be a concern, but he wasn't human and she was a Wind-Dancer.

Alucard and Laterose, a half-vampire and a half-Wind-Dancer, two creatures forbidden to love each other due to dangers. If a Wind-Dancer were bitten by a vampire, the Wind-Dancer would die. Vampire venom was deadly to Wind-Dancers. One bite and….Neculai couldn't finish the thought.

To dispel these thoughts he said to Maria, "Let's talk about something else."

"Why?" she asked confusedly.

"Because such a topic is not suitable for peace!"

Maria was confused. Earlier he had not a problem with the discussion. But now his gray eyes were blazing. Blazing with discomfort and….fury.

"Of course. I'll not bring it up again," she apologized with a soothing tone.

She saw him relax.

"Thank you," he said.

She nodded. She gave him a kiss on the lips and they went back to watching the moon.

Perhaps such concerns about the Dhampir and half Wind-Dancer were unnecessary, but then again they might be.

A/N: Well my "Nocturne" story has been fixed. Proper grammar and people. Changed my mind. I'll be pairing Maria with my OC, Neculai. Annette can keep Richter. Read and Review. Adieu.
