Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Tali, Liara and I had just come off of a dangerous mission. They were walking through the shuttle bay and stopped. Shepard had to change out of her armor but the ladies were happy, excited, and laughing.

"Liara that was one of the most powerful singularities that I have ever seen you throw." I said taking off my armor.

"It was a stroke of genius for you to combo a warp ball off of it. The biotic detonation was one of the most powerful I have ever seen." Liara said with a huge smile on her face.

"Tali that drone of yours was amazing. You must have made some modifications. It tore through that Atlas apart like it was made of tissue paper." I said closing my locker and we starting walking to the elevator.

"Well, I couldn't have done it if you had soften it up with your overload and assault rifle." Tali said as we entered the elevator.

We got off the elevator, got yourselves something to drink and sat down at a table. We were still talking about the battle when Kaiden joined us. "You ladies are positively glowing. I guess that means everything went well on the mission." He said with a smile.

"I have got to go on more ground missions. Shepard was an amazing force on the battlefield. That was actually fun." Tali said.

"Tali stop. You're going make me blush. But seriously, we kicked Cerberus off the communication facility and its back under Alliance control." I said still a little amped up with adrenalin left over from the battle.

"Shepard, I wanted to ask you. Why did you lay off that last Centurion? You could've easily taken down." Liara asked with a little concern.

"You two had it under control. It almost seems like you and Tali were toying with it so I just stepped back and watched. I was still paying attention and would have reacted if there had been a problem. Besides, I wanted to see what you ladies were capable of."I said dismissing Liara's concern.

"Shepard, are you okay? You seem a little amped up." Kaiden asked with concern.

"It's just some leftover adrenalin and energy I need to work off. This is one of the few battles where I haven't come back exhausted. We were a well-oiled war machine down there. I was pulling biotics detonations off of Liara's singularities, hitting combos with Tali's tech, and that's the most head-shot I think I have ever done in battle. Everything just seemed to click. I'll be fine in a while." I said with a sparkle in my eyes and a smile on my lips. Kaiden must have noticed because he rubbed his knee against mine under the table.

"Liara, didn't you have a report for me to look at in your quarters?"Tali asked as she pulled Liara out of her seat. They walked toward Liara's room.

"Well, I'll see you guys later then."I said with a wave of my hand. I turned my attention back to Kaidan.

"That is something I haven't seen in a while." He said with a slanted grin and half lidded eyes.

"What's that?" I asked.

"That gorgeous smile of yours" He said as he reached for my hand on the table.

"You are definitely getting better at flirting."I said as I felt his thumb caress the back of my hand.

"It's easy when you're the one I'm flirting with." He said as he brought my hand to his lip and laid a feather light kiss on my knuckles. This caused an ache to pool in the bottom of my stomach.

"Walk with me. I still need to work off this energy." I said as I got up.
