My second fanfic, hope you like it though it is kind of a sad story; it takes place 15 years after the first movie.

Marleena Gru had died, she had a natural death but even so it was too painful for Gru and his daughters; her funeral was taking place in the mausoleum of the family; she'd be buried next to her husband Robert Gru.

Gru lost his father when he was only five but he could remember him so well; Gru always though that after his death his mother changed her way to be because she used to smile and be kind before he left but after that… well… thanks to her Gru became the villain he is now.

The last 15 years between Gru and her were a little better compared with the rest of his life and he knew she felt proud of him when he became a father but he always wanted to hear from her lips "I love you son"; Gru never knew if he never could hear that desired phrase because of his mother's arrogance or because he wasn't so smart to realize.

The funeral was too small, Gru and his girls were the only people there, besides of the priest of course; Gru knew he was talking but he was not paying attention because his parents were the only thing in his mind; he always wanted to be a better son to his mother but at the same time he wished his mother was kinder to him; suddenly a sad song came to his mind and he knew that song could express how he felt in that moment.

Gru: Mother, you had me

but I never had you

I wanted you

but you didn't want me

so

I got to tell you

Goodbye, goodbye.

Then he looked from his mother's coffin to his father's grave.

Gru: father, you left me

but I never left you

I needed you

but you didn't need me

so

I just got to tell you

Goodbye, goodbye

Gru looked at his kittens and knew how sad they looked; they were already grown-ups; Margo became a psychologist, Edith wanted to take the place of her father as World's #1 villain and Agnes wanted to be a Children's writer; they all had their red eyes for the crying and sadness.

Gru knew well that thanks to them their grandmother spent her last 15 years as the happiest and proudest grandmother in the world, something that Gru never could succeed in all his life; as a father, he always have fought to give them a better life; a better one that his.

In some words; Gru didn't want that his girls might feel that his father never cared for them and make them feel pressed to make him feel proud; but that wasn't necessary; he'll always feel proud of them no matter what.

Gru: Children, don't do

what I have done

I couldn't walk

and I tried to run

Then, Gru looked again at his mother's coffin

so

I got to tell you

Goodbye, goodbye

Gru knew that the priest was still talking but he wasn't listening; he wished this would be a terrible nightmare but he knew too this tragic moment was really happening.

Gru: Mama don't go

daddy come home

mama don't go

daddy come home

mama don't go

daddy come home

mama don't go

daddy come home
