"Howl?" Sophie called into the house. She had gone out to pick up suppliesthat Howl needed for his potions and had been out the entire day. "Howl? Where are you?" She walked into the kitchen but he was no where to be found. "Calcifer, have you seen Howl?" There was no reply from him either.
Sophie was now worried for there was no sign of Howl anywhere. The kitchen remained untouched and the potions that were supposed to be sold that day were still on the table. "Where could he be?" She said to he got his heart back he tended to spend much more time at home. Still seeing no sign of him, she continued her search and made her way upstairs to invistigate further.
The first door to her right was the bathroom and he wasn't to be seen in there. The door to her left was her room and there was no need for him to be in there. Not knowing where else to look, she headed to check his room.
His door was ajar and she could see that he wasn't at his desk, which was where he could usually be found. "Howl, are you in there?" She paused at the door for a moment, waiting to see if he would answer her. After a moment or two of no reply, she decided that it would be okay for her to just go in.
"Howl?" She scanned the room and when she saw Howl, she froze. "Howl!" He was laying on the floor, not moving. He was still dressed from the day before and he had a bad bruise on the side of his face.
Sophie dropped to her knees beside him and tried to wake him. "Howl! Howl what's wrong? Please wake up!" He didn't respond to her and a tear slipped from her eye. "Howl I can't loose you!" She stroked the side of his face and sobbed.
Since he found his heart, Howl had been by Sophie's side. He meant the world to her and she did everything she could to make him happy. She had never even considered the thought of being with anyone else but him, he was her life...
"I'll do anything Howl! Anything... Just please wake up. I need you, Calcifer needs you, and the people of the town need you! Please, don't leave me." She held his hand in both of hers and sobbed. She could not imagine a world without her Howl.
"Soph..." It was Howl's voice! Sophie's eyes flew open in an instant. His eyes were still closed, but his hand was now gripping hers tightly. "I'm here!" He drew in a quick breath and tightened his grip on her hand. "Help me Sophie. Please." And then his hand went limp in hers. "Howl! Howl no! Please don't go!" She laid her head on his chest and cried. She had to find some way to help him... she just had to...
