chills down my spine
an above suspicion fanfiction
"You were next."
It was those three words that sent shivers down her spine as she sat in the interview room. Her large green eyes kept their attention on Alan Daniels. He scared her but she wasn't going to let him know that.
She was warned beforehand that he may attempt to get inside her head but she still went ahead.
Why? She felt it was her duty to bring justice to those girls he murdered.
He got inside her head, (inside, inside) and do you know how hard it was to stop him?
She feels powerless although she tells herself she can do it. She has too. It's not easy though, he just breaks her until she's broken.
And hopeless, that's an important emotion for him too.
He's dead. Suicide. He slit his own throat and bled to death.
The nightmare's over but for Anna, it's only just beginning.
She lies in bed, her red curls on the pillow and the duvet is wrapped around her.
She can't sleep, every time she closes her eyes, she sees his body.
And when she finally falls sleep, he haunts her.
it was just after they arrived back from their night at the restaurant and she invited him in for coffee. they chatted briefly over their coffee, talking about past partners and things like that. she went to the kitchen for something and that's when he attacked her.
grabbing her hair, he smashed her head off the worktop before dragging her into the bedroom..
She always woke up at that point, in a cold sweat, her breathing heavy, her heartbeat rapid and that sick feeling in her stomach.
Eventually her breathing slowed and returned to normal and she remembered he couldn't hurt her anymore.
He was dead. (but the memories were still there.)
