Disclaimer: I don't own Grimm. I own Charlotte and any other OCs. NBC owns Grimm. I wish I so though.
Charlotte remained standing on her ground. All she could do was wait. When the figured appeared, she lowered the crossbow and looked at it confusingly.
The figured turned out to be a sheriff's deputy who was slightly taller than her with dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes.
"What are you doing out here with a weapon?" he asked.
"I should ask you the same thing," she replied hastily.
"I'm here doing my job," he said slowly. "I hope you're not doing anything that I think you're doing."
"No it isn't. I don't even know where to begin," Charlotte said.
"Well why don't I take you down to my post and you can explain it and we'll get some help?" he suggested.
"You're not planning to arrest me are you?"
He showed some sympathy as she hung the crossbow at her side. He slightly shook his head as he led her out of the woods. How in the hell was she going to explain that she was in fear of a Balam and knowing her luck, she would be put away for insanity?
Just as they got to the sheriff's car, Charlotte looked up and saw that the sheriff was knocked out cold on to the ground. She looked up in horror and saw it was the man from earlier. She immediately started to shoot him but realized that she was out of arrows.
"You can run but you can't hide forever," he said.
"Not if I get a head start first," she said, as she knocked him out with the weapon.
He cursed as she ran away. He soon followed after shifting into the Balam.
Charlotte took off running into the woods. Though she had no idea where she was running, she knew what she had to do and she hoped that it would work.
She jumped over a few logs and kept going. By the time she got far enough, she tried to aim for him again. A sudden realization had hit her when she saw that there was no more arrows left in stock.
"Crap," she muttered.
"Well such a shame," the man said appearing in front of her.
Something inside of her snapped. She carelessly tossed the crossbow aside and the man stared at her in a confused way.
"You got me," she said.
"Are you sure this is the way?" Nick asked.
"I'm pretty sure, I can sense their smells around here but it looked like it's going in so many directions," Monroe said.
Nick sighed heavily as he ran his hand through his hair. He couldn't believe this was happening.
"Don't worry man we'll find them," Hank assured him.
"I don't even want to think about what would happen to her. She's been through so much already I'm afraid…"
"Hey don't think like that. She's a fighter. She'll come out of this," he said. A realization hit Hank. "You love her don't you?"
"Yeah," Nick replied honestly.
"Um, guys I hate to break this but I don't think that they're far from here," Monroe said.
"You got me, so now what? Do you plan on killing me, torturing me until something happens?" Charlotte asked as she was pacing up and down.
"You have no idea what you're about to get into, do you?" he asked.
"Oh I know. What I don't get is why come after me? I didn't do a damn thing. It was your crazy girlfriend that went after me," she snapped.
"You shut the hell up!" he yelled. "Of course your Grimm boyfriend just had to poke his nose where it doesn't belong. Of course he had to know that it was me that did the robberies. You have no idea what it's like to live on without the person you love," he said.
"B-but it doesn't have to be like that," she said. "Look just go get help or something but please just leave me alone."
He lunged for her and grabbed her tightly. His hand landed on her left arm and somehow she managed to kick him off of her as hard as she could. She started to run but he reached for her ankle as she fell to the ground. Charlotte struggled to get out of his grips and sudden flashbacks from this happening before flashed through her mind.
"GET OFF!" she screamed as loud as she could. "SOMEONE HELP!"
In the next moments, she shoved him hard off of her. His eyes went wide as he fell over a small hill and landed on the ground. Charlotte stared at him as he landed on the ground and didn't move. She slid down and crawled next to his body to find a pulse. Luckily there was a pulse.
All Charlotte could do was stare off into the scenery in front of her, trying to take in on what just happened.
She didn't know how she got back to where she came but she did. Charlotte could only move in a trance as she tossed the crossbow in her truck. She knew that the spice shop was nearby so she hoped that the others or at least Rosalee would be there.
Charlotte got in her truck and drove away. She didn't know where she was going. She wasn't planning on going back home for now.
She kept on driving until she reached her destination. Charlotte sat in her truck, ignoring the constant vibrating of her cellphone. She didn't care if any calls went to voicemail or the texts she'd get. She would read them later.
With a heavy sigh as she reached for the crossbow, she got out of her truck. After locking it up, she walked towards the trailer and went inside. She placed the crossbow back in its original place and locked up the cabinet.
Charlotte collapsed on the small bed and kicked off her muddy boots. She still kept her jacket on but she was still feeling cold. Reaching in her jacket to grab her phone, she saw 16 text messages, 20 missed calls and almost 18 voicemails.
"Great," she muttered to no one.
She opened up a contact and texted someone letting them know that she was safe and okay and that she was stopping at the trailer to get some rest. She tossed her phone on the pillow and just lied down on the bed. She slowly started to feel her eyes droop and perhaps maybe getting some sleep would help.
Charlotte hope that Nick was safe and that the guy didn't do anything to him or worse.
"Guys, she texted me," Rosalee told Nick and Monroe as they headed inside the spice shop.
"Is she alright?" Nick asked.
"She's safe and okay. She had to stop by the trailer but she's staying there I think to get rest before she heads back home," she replied.
"Thank god," he said.
"What happened?" Rosalee asked.
"We got the guy Hank is bringing in. He was knocked out when we found him and he regained conscious. Apparently he was the one that did the robberies from what we got underneath the hidden microphone," Nick explained.
"And that's not the only thing," Monroe said.
"He was also the one that caused Charlotte and Alex's accident," Nick replied.
"What?" Rosalee said. "He was probably the same guy who came out of her hospital room."
"Wait, when was this? Nick asked.
"Me and Monroe were visiting her when he left the room I thought he was someone from her job," she replied.
"Why didn't she mention this to me?"
"I don't know man. Besides if you think about it, she was trying to figure out what happened before she was knocked out in the accident," Monroe reasoned.
All Nick could do was nod. It would make sense but for her not to say anything about that to him, it didn't make sense. Was she trying to protect him about that information? It could be a possibility but he wanted to hear it from her.
"I'm going back to the station and help out with the investigation," Nick said. "If you hear anything from her, please let me know."
"Don't worry we will and we'll make her call you if we have to," Monroe said.
"Thanks," Nick said as he headed out the door.
He couldn't wait for this to be over. He wanted some sense of normalcy to go back and to go back to Charlotte especially.
It was just one more piece of the puzzle to finish.
