Hollywood Tower Hotel, 1939. You thought you knew the whole story. But, you don't really. I'm here to tell you the entire story.
It was 1939, and my parents and I were staying at the Hollywood Tower Hotel. The Hollywood Hotel, can you imagine that?! It was truly the brightest star in the vast sky of Hollywood. But we had been invited here for one sole purpose. My parents were good friends with the owner of the hotel since they were kids, and when he heard Sally Shine, my idol, was coming on the same day as my birthday, he allowed us to come and meet her. Sally had agreed, and so had her nanny, and I was psyched. This was my chance to meet my hero, at last!
We caught an elevator, and bored, I watched the counter go up. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11... We got off here and the bellhop led us right to our room, only a little ways away from the elevator. I was looking out the window when something flashed in the distance. A greenish-looking flash saturated the room, I saw my parent's worried faces, then, nothing.
When I woke up, my first thought was a question. Not for anyone else to answer, for me to answer.
Am I dead?
I looked around, and nearly jumped out the window when I saw who was standing next to me.
She sent a pained look in my direction, and I turned around and noticed my parents chatting nervously with a bellhop. I froze when I heard my name.
So I really was dead.
2 weeks had passed, and I was still here, but slowly disappearing. Over the passing of time, Sally and I had become the best of friends, almost inseparable. But today was the day when I looked at my hands and saw I was vanishing. Sally sent a worried glance in my direction.
"Are you okay? What's happening?" Sally rushed over. I shook my head.
"Sally, I think... I think I'm disappearing." I said. But, somehow I was okay with it. That couple always turned their backs on me and Sally even turned around. Sally's nanny gave me a concerned look.
"N-no, you can't disappear!" Sally choked out. I shook my head.
"Sally..." I was nearly invisible now. "I'm so glad... I had the chance... to be your friend..."

When I woke up, I was reborn as the niece of a certain phony reporter. And that journey took me back to that place I had not forgotten. When I saw the hotel once more, I knew that somehow, my fate had brought me here.
