Deidara didn't speak to Ino when he came home that night. He picked up dinner for her so she wouldn't be hungry, and went straight to his room. He didn't feel at all like he could eat anything. Ino tried to talk to him, but he mumbled an excuse about being tired and closed the door.

He tried to sleep, but he couldn't stop thinking about what had happened. He felt violated and filthy. He knew that he only did it to protect Sasori, but he still felt like he had betrayed his boyfriend. He just laid in bed the whole night, staring up at the ceiling.

Late next morning, Ino knocked on his door.

"Are you awake?" Ino asked.

"...yes," Deidara mumbled. He felt so tired, but his guilt kept him awake.

"Do you feel better today? I can go get you some medicine if you're sick," she said.

"I'm not sick, hmmm," he said, "I'm just tired."

He heard Ino sigh and walked away from the door. He hugged his pillow and looked at the wall.

A little while later, he heard a knock on the apartment door. Ino was talking to someone, but he couldn't understand what either of them were saying. A few minutes after there was a knock on his bedroom door again.

"Hello?" Sasori said.

Deidara felt his body tense. He was both happy and terrified that Sasori was there. He didn't want to have to look at Sasori yet. He still felt too guilty from yesterday.

"Can I come in?" Sasori asked.

Deidara could hear the concern in Sasori's voice. He debated on what to say, but he knew he couldn't leave Sasori out there.

"Yes, hmmm," he said quietly.

Sasori opened the door. Deidara cringed as the hallway light penetrated the dark room.

"Are you okay?" Sasori asked. He sat down on the floor next to Deidara's bed.

Deidara slowly turned to face him. As soon as he saw Sasori, he felt sick again. He didn't feel worthy of the concern Sasori obviously had for him.

"Ya I'm fine," Deidara mumbled.

Sasori frowned and held Deidara's hand.

"Did something happen? You can tell me," Sasori said.

Deidara wanted to pull his hand away from Sasori's, but at the same time it felt so comforting.

"Nothing happened, hmmm," he said. He didn't want to think about breaking up with Sasori yet, "I just had a lot of school work this week, and I'm tired."

Sasori nodded, "You look a little sick too. Do you want to watch a movie? That might make you happier."

Deidara nodded. Again he had that conflicting feeling of wanting to stay in bed, but he also wanted to be with his boyfriend. He decided that he wanted to spend as much time with Sasori as he could before he was forced to break up with him.

Sasori smiled and stood up. Deidara started to sit up, but was surprised when he felt Sasori lift him from the bed.

"What are you doing?" Deidara asked. He clung to Sasori, because he felt like he was going to fall.

Sasori smiled, "I was going to carry you to the living room, but I think you're too fat for me to hold."

Deidara pouted, "I'm not fat, you meanie. Take it back!"

Sasori chuckled, "Nope. You're cute and chubby. Just accept it."

Deidara shook his head, "You're a jerk sometimes."

Sasori kissed him, "but I still love you."

Deidara felt another pang of guilt, "I love you too."

Sasori smiled and carried Deidara to the living room. Deidara could tell it wasn't as hard for Sasori to carry him as the older one had said. Sasori set him on the couch.

"What should we watch?" Sasori asked.

Deidara shrugged, "I don't care, hmmm."

"I'll pick something happy," Sasori said. He went over to the cabinet and looked through the movies.

Deidara looked around the apartment, "Where did Ino go?"

"She left to go to her friend's house," Sasori said, "She told me you hadn't been feeling too good since you came home last night."

Deidara wrapped the blanket around himself, "I just wasn't in the mood to talk."

Sasori stood back up, "How about the Lego movie? I know you love that one."

Deidara smiled a little, "Sure, hmmm."

Sasori smiled and put the DVD in the player. He went back over to the couch and sat next to Deidara.

"Is there any room for one more person under that blanket?" he asked.

Deidara nodded and picked up the blanket. Sasori scooted closer to Deidara and draped the blanket over both of them. He wrapped his arms around Deidara as the movie started.

Deidara tried to relax as Sasori held him. It was proving to be difficult.

"Are you okay?" Sasori asked when he felt how tense Deidara was.

Deidara quickly nodded, "Ya I'm fine. I'm just feeling a little cold."

Sasori smiled and kissed him, "I can help with that."

He pulled Deidara even closer. Sasori felt warmer than the blanket did. Deidara slowly relaxed in his lover's arms as the other one watch the movie.

Deidara observed is boyfriend. Everything about Sasori was so comforting to Deidara. His embrace was soft and warm. His beautiful brown eyes made him feel relaxed, and his red hair soothed the younger boy. Even the way Sasori smelled made Deidara happy. It gave him this sense of closeness and joy, but most of all it made him feel loved. He loved Sasori more than anything else.

That was why he knew he need to do it. Itachi wasn't messing around about the photos. Deidara had seen Itachi ruin people's lives before. It wasn't pretty. He didn't want his loving boyfriend to go to jail. That was absolutely not an option.

Sasori laughed at one of the jokes in the movie. He looked down at Deidara, "Do you want any popcorn?"

Deidara nodded, "Okay."

Sasori gave him a quick kiss before he got up and went to the kitchen. Deidara sighed and hugged the blanket. It still had Sasori's scent on it.

Suddenly he felt his cell phone vibrate. He looked down at it and saw it was an unknown number. He opened the text.

'Did you break up with him yet?' the text read.

Deidara realized it was from Itachi. He started to feel sick again as he replied.

'No I haven't yet,' he wrote back.

'Do it before he leaves you apartment,' Itachi replied.

Deidara frowned. Was Itachi somewhere watching is apartment, or had he hired someone to do it for him? That's the only way he could have known that Sasori was there.

Sasori came back into the room with two large bowls of buttery popcorn.

"This smells great," Sasori said happily.

He handed one bowl to Deidara. Deidara grabbed it while he tried to stop his hands from shaking. He was so upset and nervous. Sasori didn't notice. He sat back down on the couch.

Deidara heard a sound outside the door. Sasori got up to see what it was. He came back holding a bunch of envelopes.

"The mail came," Sasori said.

Deidara nodded, "Thanks. You can just leave it on the coffee table, hmmm."

Sasori sat down and looked through the letters, "There's one here from Bijuu State and one from Gakure University."

"Are those two of the places I applied to?" Deidara asked. He couldn't remember where he applied to because they had applied to every school with art they could find that would let them apply late.

Sasori nodded, "You should open them."

Deidara nodded and slowly took the letters. He decided he wanted to open them both quickly so that he wouldn't have to wait between each denial. He closed his eyes and opened them up. When he felt the papers come out of the envelopes, he opened his eyes.

Sasori looked at the letters and smiled, "Congratulations."

Deidara was at a loss for words. Both letters said that they would be happy to allow Deidara into their art programs. He couldn't believe that they would accept someone who applied so late.

Sasori kissed him, "I knew you could do it. I'm so proud of you."

Deidara felt tears well up in his eyes. It wasn't because he was accepted to college. It was because all this wouldn't have happened if it Sasori didn't help. Sasori was the one who called all those colleges and convinced them to accept Deidara's application. The only reason he even had a future was because of Sasori, and now he was being forced to break that man's heart.

"Aren't you happy?" Sasori asked, frowning slightly.

"I-I am," Deidara said.

Sasori kissed him, "It's okay. I know this is a lot to find out."

Deidara cried and hugged Sasori. Sasori was a little surprised, but he still hugged Deidara back.

Deidara heard his cell phone vibrate. He looked down to see what it said. Sasori couldn't see the phone from his point of view.

'Do it now!' Itachi texted.

Deidara shook his head. He didn't want to do it anymore. He wanted to stay with Sasori. He wanted to be with the man he loved.

Another text appeared on his phone, 'Do it or I'm going straight to the police.'

More tears flowed out of Deidara's eyes. He looked at Sasori.

"What is it?" Sasori asked. It was clear to him now that Deidara's tears had nothing to do with his college acceptance.

"I…I," Deidara tried to say. He couldn't get any words to come out of his mouth.

The phone vibrated again and Deidara checked it.

'If you care about him, you'll do it,' the text said.

Deidara took a deep breath and put the phone in his pocket.

"Sasori…I…I don't think," he started to say.

Sasori reached down and held Deidara's hand, "Yes?"

"I don't think we can date anymore," Deidara got out in one breath.

Sasori blinked and gave Deidara a confused look.

"What are you saying?" Sasori asked, "Did I say something wrong?"

Deidara composed himself again. He had to remember that he was doing this for Sasori's sake, even if it ended up hurting him.

"No i-it isn't anything you said," Deidara mumbled, "I just want to break up, hmmm."

Sasori squeezed Deidara's hand, "Please don't say that. There has to be a reason why you're saying this. I want to know what it is."

Deidara knew that even if he told Sasori, it wouldn't help. Sasori would just try to stop Itachi, but Itachi would still go to the police or the school. Itachi never gave up easily, and Sasori didn't know him well enough to realize that. Very few people other than Deidara understood the lengths Itachi would go to when he wanted something.

"I need someone new," Deidara blurted, "Ya ummm I just want to see what it's like to date a guy my own age. That way I c-can do high school stuff and things like that, hmmm."

Sasori looked changed to disbelief, "When did you decide this? I love you so much, Deidara. I could have sworn that you felt the same way. You told me you did."

Deidara's heart felt like it was being stabbed with every sad word spoken. The immense hurt was clear in Sasori's voice. In Deidara's mind, he decided that hurting Sasori was the best way to keep Sasori from trying to win him back. He was worried that if Sasori tried to be with him again, Itachi would turn him in. If he was hurt, he wouldn't want to speak to Deidara. Deidara didn't want any of this to happen. He just wanted to make Sasori happy, but sometimes life doesn't let you find happiness.

"No I don't love you. I don't like dating an old man. Our age difference would never work out. It's best to just leave it alone," Deidara said. Every word he spoke felt like poison on his lips.

Sasori shook his head, "I can't accept this. Why won't you just tell me the truth?"

Deidara heard his cell phone vibrate. He didn't even need to look at the text to know what it was threating to do. Itachi was not a patient man. This was his last chance to end it.

"Just leave!" Deidara screamed. The tension and nerves were driving him crazy, "I fucking hate you! Just get out of here and never talk to me again!"

Sasori sat there for a moment, as if still debating on if he should stay. Deidara pushed him hard, and Sasori fell to the floor.

"Just go, you bastard!" he screamed louder. Tears were streaming down his face as he looked at his poor lover.

Sasori slowly stood up. He just looked at Deidara for a moment. So many emotions were on his face; confusion, pain, hopelessness.

"I'm sorry I bothered you," he said quietly. He walked out of the apartment and closed the door behind him.

Deidara wanted to reach out to him, but he forced his body to hold his arms back. He couldn't believe it had actually happened. Sasori was gone, and it was all because of him.

The cell phone vibrated.

'Good job,' the texted said.

Deidara screamed and threw the phone against the wall, smashing it to pieces.
