When we are children, we always have desires. When I was a child, my desire was to be a painter. But, as a child, my explanation was quite broad in which I wanted to choose my profession. "Any kind of painter," I would say, "I just want to paint." So, when I became a teenager, I went looking for a painting job. Because I did not focus and study on one kind of painting style, I could not find someone who appreciated my inexperience. I grew older into a young adult and finally got a painting job. I was so happy that I got a job that I didn't even realize the job itself. I was to paint signs. And thus, I was dubbed "The Sign Painter."
Work was slow, and I painted boring signs now and then. Life was dull and grey. I felt like I had no purpose because my signs were no longer important. But then one day, deep into the earth, a pipe burst. This pipe leaked out goo. This goo was slightly intellegent and seemed to grow more and more in population. Soon, the entire world as we knew it was covered in goo. The world was colored with more boringness and I sank farther into my hole of despair. I was one of the few survivors, in which some evil goo would not allow others to continue on. I, with few others, got up and finally saw we were living in a "World of Goo"
This goo took over the world and someone needed to send them back into the pipes. I couldn't. All I could do was paint signs. But, there was another. One who wished to conquer. I decided to help her with the conquering by painting many signs to let her see the situation. She first worked with some albino goo, then with some regular goo. Then the goo got more and more stronger, but she was able to defeat it and shove it back through the pipe. She manipulated them by piecing them together in order to form a bridge-like structure to send them well on their way. This girl, she beat most of the goo. She was smart and powerful. And... She was beautiful. I had never met her, only writing signs and looking through a telescope. When I saw her I felt something I hadn't felt in years, since the world was goo-free. I felt... Love.
She defeated much goo, sending it back to its well-deserved pipe. There was little goo left, but even I myself could not find where it was located. I looked once more through my telescope, and saw nothing but black. Then, two beady white eyes blinked cautiously. Soon, several eyes peered at me, and soon invaded my observatory. It was none other than the Legendary Goo.
I called on none other than she, who was now called "The Conquerer of Goo" and she went to work. After many tries, she finally reached success. I thanked her and went off into the clean world to find another profound desire. I had accomplished my ultimate desire, one I never knew in childhood: To fulfill my career. We happily write back and forth, but I never asked her to be mine. I could not. For why would a "Conquerer of Goo" love a lonely sign painter like me. I paint every now and then. I paint and paint, getting jobs and setting up the new world. I paint landscapes, animals and people. But when I paint people, they always turn out to look just like her... When shall I see her again? Maybe I should wait for another pipe to burst... To live again in "The World of Goo"...
