Bobby trudged Dean through the calf-high snow and up the porch steps, one hand firmly clamped down on the boy's shoulder. "You think you're a real charmer, don't ya, boy?" he asked sternly.

"Yes, sir," Dean answered nervously.

"What?" Bobby squeezed Dean's shoulder tighter.

"I mean…no. No, sir," Dean changed.

Bobby marched Dean into the house and plunked the boy down in a kitchen chair.

Bending over, he made eye contact with Dean. "I triple-dog-dare you to move. You gonna take that dare, boy?"

"No, sir."

"Good. After I unstick your brother's tongue, I'll decide what to do with ya."
