Okay, Do you remember when Katniss heard that tap on the door in the second book well this is the story behind that tap. And of course it's about Peeta Mellark, haha, hoping you like it. Here it goes…
His footsteps were almost silent; you could barely hear the tap of his bare-feet in the tile. He made his way down the hallway, towards her door.
"No!" He heard her whisper yell.
He stopped and faced her door. She was screaming behind the door and thrashing about in her sleep. Nightmares! His blue eyes widened in fear for her. It hurt him, he has those same nightmares. He knew what it was like to be trapped in them overtime you closed your eyes. He breathed out and leaned his fore-head on the door. He wished he was there holding her in his arms, keeping her safe and warm. To even just be there when she woke from them. He closed his eyes feeling her pain, and feeling his arms wrap around hers. Like they have so many times before, on those nights in the train together.
But she didn't need him tonight the way he knew she did, and that hurt his heart. HE froze hearing her wake up. He quickly tapped on her door. (You see? He tapped on it.) He stood there silently, hoping for an answer, her small voice telling him to enter. Or even to see her face at the door while it slowly opened to let him in. But nothing happened, all he could hear was the pounding of his heart against his chest. He breathed in, sucking in the disappointed feeling of hurt. A single tear escaped his eye.
"I love you, Katniss." He whispered, hoping she'd hear, but know she wouldn't.
She didn't want him there tonight, but he needed her. He hated the nightmares too. It was pointless going back to bed now. He wouldn't sleep. He sighed, as he headed up to the roof. He stood there staring at the stars, they were his comfort tonight. He sighed again, letting the pain fade into his heart. He closed his eyes and shook his head, he felt, at that moment, completely alone…
Again, sad, sad, sad. Review this please, tell me what you think. Thanks.
