*checks to see if people are still here* sorry about the long wait guys, no excuses. Have a chapter:
"He told you he was in love with you?!" Draco asked incredulously.
Harry just nodded.
"Wow," Draco breathed.
"Wow," Harry had said. "I hope you understand that even if what you're saying is true and you are in love with me, I am unable to say it back."
"Yes of course. I understand completely, Harry. I don't expect you to say it back until you're ready. But I do ask that you give me a chance. Go out with me? On a date?"
"Where and when?"
"Tomorrow Dudley and the gang think I have a family thing and they're taking the train to London anyway to sneak in to some bars with their fake IDs. Meet me here at miday and we'll go from their."
"Ok," Harry said. "But I'm only giving you this one chance. Don't fuck it up."
"I won't." Piers had said immediately. "I promise I won't."
With that done, Harry and Piers both got up and parted to walk in the direction of their respective homes. Harry walked back to the Dursleys with a stupid grin plastered to his face. He was going to have to get his shit together by tomorrow to make sure Piers wasn't playing any games. He let himself in to the house, dropped the key back into the fruit bowl and made his way upstairs. Changing back in to his pyjamas he got into bed and dropped off to sleep.
The next day, Harry set off at 11:30, having spent an hour and a half making sure he looked his best. He stopped off at the corner shop and bought some breath mints. They would keep his breath fresh and could be swallowed quickly if one needed. Having taken that small detour, he arrived at the forrest at exactly midday. Piers was already there waiting, sitting on a picnic blanket with a basket in hand. Harry couldn't help but feel touched at the effort Piers had put into their date and smiled warmly at the other boy as he approached him.
"Hello, Harry," Piers said softly.
"Hey, Piers, something smells good."
Piers beamed at Harry and gestured for the raven-haired boy to sit. Harry sat.
"Seeing as it's still a bit early for lunch, I thought we could sit and talk for a bit, get to know each other a bit better. And then when we're hungry we can eat. Does that sound ok?" Piers sounded unsure. He really wanted Harry to like it. Harry noticed this and decided to put the other boy at ease.
"That sounds perfect."
The rewarding smile he was met with form Piers made Harry's heart beat slightly more erratically.
"So," Harry said, "Tell me about yourself."
"Well I'm an only child. My parents are both lawyers and we have a lot of money as a family but this also means my parents have no time for me so it gets pretty lonely. But i guess I can't complain, other people have it much worse. At least I still have my parents. What's it like, Harry? Having none I mean."
"It's hard," Harry began. "I get really lonely sometimes. Especially as the Dursleys all hate me. But I have my pet owl, Hedwig to keep me company I guess... even so I'm by myself again when she goes off hunting."
"I'm sorry to hear that, Harry. A pet owl, huh? That's an interesting pet choice."
'Not in the Wizard World,' Harry thought.
"Mm, it is rather but she's lovely."
They talked some more about less heavy things, finding out each others favourite foods, colours, animals and eventually eating the delicious lunch that Piers had put together. Harry found himself having a great time with Piers. He was sweet and funny and genuinely nice when Dudley wasn't around. They were lost in conversation and good food until suddenly it was dark.
"Wow, we've been here almost six hours. I need to get home before my parents do."
"I should probably be getting back too, the Dursleys don't like it when I'm out too late. I had a really great time today though." Harry added shyly.
Piers let out an inward sigh of relief. "I'm really glad, maybe we can do it again tomorrow?"
"I'd love to. But this time I'll bring the food." Harry grinned.
"It's a date."
And it was. Harry and Piers spent a lot of time together that holiday, and by the time Harry had to go back to school, they were official. Harry bought himself a cheap phone with money he had exchanged at Gringotts a while before and had Piers' number stored on it. He knew he wouldn't be able to use it while at Hogwarts but being a sixth year had some perks and he was allowed to go to Hogsmede pretty much whenever he pleased and he planned to take advantage of this so he could text and call his muggle boyfriend.
During that first term, Harry and Piers spoke to each to each at every possible moment. Harry was pushing Ron and Hermione away but he didn't realise it. He was too wrapped up in is new secret boyfriend. He hadn't told anyone about Piers. It was his relationship, his life. No one else had to get involved. Harry missed Piers a lot and was glad that Christmas break was coming soon so he could see him again. He told Ron that he wasn't going to be spending Christmas with the Weasley's and although he had been confused, Ron hadn't kicked up a huge fuss. It was on the train back to Kings Cross when Harry had called the Dursley's house 'more of a home' than the Weasley's that Ron had taken it hard. But Harry didn't care. He'd see his boyfriend soon. When they arrived at the station, Harry all but sprinted out and in to the taxi that was waiting for him.
The taxi didn't take him to the Dursley's though. It took him to Piers house. Piers was sat on his doorstep waiting for his boyfriend to get home and as the taxi parked onto the street his face was split in to a wide grin. Harry stepped out of said taxi and engulfed Piers in the biggest hug he could manage.
"I've missed you so much." Harry whispered in to Piers hair.
"I've missed you too. Come inside, my parents are away for the holiday on business so you can stay with me the whole time."
Harry couldn't believe his parents had left Piers by himself for Christmas but chose not to comment as he followed Piers into his house, suitcase in hand. They spent the evening catching up and kissing each other like their lives depended on it. When night came both Harry and Piers retired to Piers' room. Both unwilling to spent time apart after all this waiting. They kissed languidly in the bed for a while but then their kisses got more heated and hands wandered and Harry was looking into Piers' eyes whispering, "I love you, lets do this." and Piers didn't object. That night, they spent the night giving into their teenage passions and hormones.
In the morning, neither of them freaked out or regretted it and their relationship seemed stronger. But that all changed during the afternoon when Dudley Dursley knocked on the door.
So I know I said the Harry/Piers subplot be concluded this chapter, I lied. Chapter 12 will be up by next week, that is a promise.
