A/N: Just a short and sweet one-shot which I thought of

Btw, none of the characters are mine. They all belong to the genius that is JKR.

"Remind me, Sirius, why did I get dragged into this again?" asked Remus, as he walked up the quiet residential street.

"Because James and Lily are out and Peter is God-knows-where so I didn't want to leave you all on your own," replied Sirius, slinging an arm around his friend's shoulders. "And also because Andy doesn't trust me on my own after last time," he added as an afterthought.

"What happened last time?" Remus asked, following Sirius as he walked up the path to the front door of one of the houses.

"Well-"

"Actually I changed my mind, I don't want to know."

Before Sirius could protest, Remus rang the doorbell, which was soon answered to reveal the smiling face of Andromeda Tonks.

"Come in, come in," she said, ushering them into the house. "I'm afraid that Ted and I must dash, but Dora's already washed and fed. Just let her play for an hour, then bed. We'll be back by eleven. Sirius, try not to blow up the house." With these words, she grabbed her handbag with one arm and her husband with the other, before rushing out the door and closing it behind her with a snap.

Remus turned around to see a young girl wearing teddy-bear pyjamas peering out of the living room.

"You must be Nymphadora," he said kindly.

Immediately the little girl scowled and her hair turned red. Remus jumped back in shock as Sirius let out a chuckle from behind him.

"Wait, did your hair—it just changed colour!" he stuttered out.

"Yeah," said the girl, smiling proudly as her hair receded back to its natural colour. "Mummy says I'm special. I'm a mepha- metaphor-"

"A metamorphmagus?" suggested Remus.

"Yeah, I hate big words. Like Nymphadora," she huffed, crossing her arms and pouting. "You're not allowed to call me that, 'cause it sounds like fairies and stupid things like that. Call me Dora."

"Do you not like fairies, Dora?" asked Remus, intrigued.

"No, they're stupid and pink and annoying. I like dragons, they're cool! They could eat you up in one go!"

An hour of almost non-stop chatter from Dora later, Remus and Sirius exchanged a look. How are we going to get her to bed?

They needn't have worried, because at that moment Dora sat down on the sofa next to Remus, promptly announced that she was tired, and curled up with her head in his lap. Remus felt his face redden in embarrassment, not helped by Sirius' wolf-whistles from his place in the armchair. Dora, however, was oblivious.

"Mummy says that when you like someone very much, you marry them and then have babies with them," she suddenly announced. "I like you a lot Remus. When I grow up, I'm going to marry you and have lots of babies with you."

"Well, I- I don't- that's not really how it works, Dora," Remus eventually managed to get out, mortified. Sirius looked like he was going to burst, silently shaking with laughter. However, looking down at her, Remus saw that Dora had already fallen asleep with a contented smile on her face. Smiling gently, he carefully picked her up and, ignoring Sirius' whispered comments and snide remarks, he carried her upstairs and laid her down in her bed. As he tucked her in, he reflected that perhaps coming to babysit with Sirius hadn't been such a bad idea after all.
