Disclaimer: I don't own Loveless or Brandi Carlile's songs "Cannon ball" and "Josephine"
A/N: I know I've written a few with the same premise, but there are variants. This one seems the most related to what actually happened in the manga.
"Let me forget"
Ritsuka awoke to the same thought that crossed his mind every moment since Soubi left with Seimei one month ago- he was betrayed by the two people he trusted most.
*I was born when I met you, now I'm dying to forget you…
His chest ached, making it difficult to breathe. Tears swept across his barely awake face.
He wished it was all a terrible nightmare.
Shutting his eyes did not dispel tears. They merely transitioned and squeezed between his eye lashes. He could not truly cry at home, lest him mother give him something more to cry about. The pain in his chest increased when he held in sobs.
He lifted his cell phone from beneath his pillow and through blurred eyes typed familiar digits. "We're sorry the number you are trying to reach is no longer in service..."- the same recording he heard every day.
Nothing in this life was "fair"… except for the amount of time he knew Soubi. That was more than fair, it was splendid, it was perfect.
None of what happened that day made sense! He learned Soubi's parents are deceased when he saw their graves. That news helped him realize he barely knew anything about his fighter's past either.
Then Seimei appeared and time stopped.
He couldn't believe his eyes, his brother was supposed to be dead. Seimei told Soubi to come along, and his fighter obeyed.
Crying Ritsuka pleaded for them to explain, and for Soubi to stay, but they did neither. They walked away and left him alone, left him alone beside Soubi's parent's grave stones, sobbing and confused.
Ritsuka had no way of finding them. He had no way of knowing what might happen to them or to him for that matter.
He foolishly wished to forget Soubi. He wanted to erase all memory of him and the impact he had on his existence.
He tried to believe that all he wanted was to get on with his life. Shaking his head, tears flowed rapidly across his face. Every moment felt so empty it was unbearable.
*Someone, something please help me understand why I'm still loving you…
Hope you liked it, please review.
