Chapter Five: Where's the Secret Technique Manual?!
(秘伝書はどこだ！, Hiden-sho wa dokoda!)
Firework exploded in the air.
''At last, this season has come to Japan! Hotter than the summer's heat, it'll decide who among our nation's junior high schools will be the number one male – and female soccer team in Japan! The Football Frontier's season is here!'' A TV announcer shouted.
The crowd cheered happily. In the crowd, Fuyukai, the coach of the Raimon soccer players, was seen. He didn't look all too happy.
''Which team will reach the top of the nation?! But before that, they'll have to go through one obstacle! That's right, it's to win the preliminary matches! And through the preliminary matches, only two out of fourteen teams will face each other in the finals!''
The crowd cheered again.
''And now, the match-up of our first preliminary draw is…''
Two assistants pressed two buttons at the same time and out of a lottery machine with colored balls, a lime green ball got sucked up in the left tube. A yellow one got sucked up in the right tube. Both balls rolled down and ended up in the two hats of the assistants. The left assistant held up her ball and it showed the face of a fierce man.
''The aggressive Nosei Junior High!'' The TV announcer exclaimed.
In the crowd, a spotlight went on and it was aimed on the coach of Nosei Junior High, the same man as the fierce man on the ball.
''Their opponent is…''
The second ball got held up and it showed the face of Fuyukai.
''My word, it's Raimon Junior High, whose visibly rapid progress has given them some fame among the competition!'' The TV announcer spoke.
A spotlight went on above Fuyukai and he looked nervous.
''The first preliminary match is going to be interesting!'' The TV announcer said. ''Now, what combination will it be for the next battle?''
Misaki woke up in her bedroom. She sat up straight and rubbed her sleepy eyes, then grabbed her glasses from her nightstand and placed it on its familiar place on her nose. When she stepped out of bed, she noticed the Football Frontier poster that was laying on her desk.
''Sodana… the Football Frontier is starting.'' She smiled.
''Misaki-chan! Breakfast!'' Her mother shouted from downstairs.
''Coming!'' She replied.
On the way down, she met Kira, her little sister.
''Ne, ne, Nee-san! The Football Frontier is starting, right?'' She asked.
''Uhn!'' Misaki replied, while she took her spot around the dining table.
''You must be excited!'' Her mother said to her, while she placed a glass of juice in front of her daughter.
''I am! The team worked really hard for it.'' Misaki replied.
''I've even heard on the TV that Raimon is getting quite famous due to its victories on Teikoku Gakuen and Occult Junior High.'' Her mother said.
''Nee-san is amazing!'' Kira cheered.
''It's thanks to the girls. They show so much willpower. It makes me excited to do my best, too.'' Misaki replied.
She took a bite from her toast.
''Ne, Nee-san, are you becoming famous?'' Kira asked.
''N-Nane yo? Of course not! We just had two minor victories, that's all.''
''Ehh… I wanted to have a famous Nee-san.''
Their mother ruffled Kira's hair.
''If you don't hurry up, you two are gonna be late for school.'' She laughed.
Kira and Misaki glanced at the time.
''Is it already that late? Let's go, sis.'' Misaki spoke to her little sister.
''Hai!'' Kira replied. ''Ja Ne, Okaa-san.''
''Be safe, you two.'' Their mother replied.
Then, Misaki and Kira left the house and split up at the traffic lights at the beginning of the crossroad. Kira had to cross, while Misaki had to continue on straight.
''All right, have a fun day at school, Kira-chan!'' Misaki spoke to her sister.
''Same to you! Bye, Nee-san!''
And with that, the two sisters parted and continued their way towards their school. When Misaki walked on, she saw Endou jump out of his house, a slice of bread in his mouth.
''Frontier!'' He shouted, muffled by the bread.
''Ohayo, Endou!'' Misaki greeted the captain.
Endou turned around.
''Ah, Misaki?'' He replied. ''Ohayo!''
''You look fired up this morning.'' Misaki smiled.
''The Football Frontier is here!'' Endou replied.
''Yeah, I thought you would be happy about that.''
Endou pushed the entire slice of bread in his mouth and munched.
''You look silly.'' Misaki sweat-dropped.
Then, Endou cheered once again.
And with that, he dashed off.
''Endou… matte yo!'' Misaki shouted behind him, while she took off too.
She sighed inwardly.
''Jeez, that guy…''
After a while, the two reached the school ground of Raimon Junior High. Misaki already saw some male and female players of the team standing together, talking excitedly.
''Football Frontier!'' Endou shouted, while running straight through the group.
''Captain is fired up, isn't he?'' Kabeyama asked.
''It's the Football Frontier season, after all.'' Azula replied.
Misaki joined the group.
''Ohayo, Misaki!'' Several people replied.
''Hey!'' An unknown voice suddenly sounded.
The group turned around. In front of them stood a tanned, tall boy with grey-bluish hair and small, black eyes, dressed in the Raimon uniform. Next to him stood a small girl, also tanned with grey-bluish hair that reached her waist flowingly and black eyes. She was wearing the Raimon girls uniform with a grey skirt and a white blouse with a green ribbon, just like Aki's uniform, showing she was in the same class.
''Yo, I'm Domon Asuka and this is my younger sister Domon Mayuki. Pleased to meet you.'' The boy spoke.
''Yoroshiku!'' The girl added.
''H-Hello.'' Some of the people replied.
''Are you two transfer students?'' Misaki asked.
''That's right, we're sparkling new transfer students.'' He grinned.
''This is our first day here.'' Mayuki added with a soft smile.
''So, if you could tell us where the principal's office is, that would be great.'' Domon said.
The soccer players smiled.
''Of course! I can bring you two if you want?'' Tsukiko offered.
''That would be very nice, thanks.''
''This way!'' Tsukiko cheered.
She walked off towards the school building and the two new transfer students followed suit.
''They look nice.'' Shouri smiled.
Yorina nodded approvingly.
''Okay, people. Time for us to go to class too. The bell will ring in two minutes.'' Misaki ordered.
''Hai!'' Everybody replied.
The school bell rang, indicating the end of the final class of today. Misaki waited for Tsukiko and a couple of other girls from the soccer team, who were in her class too, to finish up packing. Then, the group headed towards the soccer field. They all quickly got dressed and greeted the other girls, who walked into the locker room after them. After getting dressed, the girls joined Endou and the guys in the clubroom.
''Guys, are you ready?!'' Endou shouted fired up.
''YEAH!'' Everybody shouted back, just as excited.
''The Football Frontier has finally begun!'' Endou continued.
He got a dreamy stare and looked to be in his own world.
''So… who's our opponent?'' Himeka snapped him out of his gaze.
''Our opponent is…'' Endou began, creating suspense.
Everybody held their breath and looked serious.
''I don't know!'' Endou finished.
Everybody fell anime-style and looked dumfounded.
''Endou…'' Misaki spoke, closing her eyes, while shaking her head with a smile.
Endou grinned sheepishly. Then, the clubroom door opened.
''It's Nosei Junior High,'' Fuyukai spoke, appearing in the doorframe. ''If I remember correctly, Nosei Junior High was…''
''The team that played against Teikoku in last year's preliminary district match.'' Haruna finished, looking at her notebook in her hand.
''Awesome! We're fighting against a strong team like them?'' Endou exclaimed.
''We don't want to be eliminated from the first round by a large margin, after all.'' Fuyukai said.
Endou and Misaki looked up surprised.
''Also…'' Fuyuki continued, but got interrupted by a cheery face which also appeared in the doorway.
''Chees~u! I'm Domon Asuka!'' The boy from earlier spoke. ''I'd like to be a defender, just so you know.''
Next to him appeared his sister, Mayuki.
''Same for me.'' She smiled, turning towards Misaki.
''You two show interest in the strangest things,'' Fuyukai smiled. ''Enrolling in here especially just to join a weak soccer team.''
He then walked away. Domon and Mayuki looked at his back with a weird expression.
''Domon-kun! Mayuki-chan!'' Aki smiled happily.
''Hey, it's Aki!'' Domon replied surprised. ''You're in Raimon Junior High?''
''Aki-chan, what are you doing here?'' Mayuki asked, just as surprised.
''What? You know each other?'' Endou asked surprised.
''Yeah, a long time ago.'' Aki smiled.
''In any case, welcome!'' Endou cheered. ''Let's do our best together for the Football Frontier.''
''Our opponent is Nosei Junior High, isn't it? Will we be okay?'' Mayuki asked.
''You're stuck up for a newcomer.''
''Well, we've played against them before in our previous Junior High.'' Domon explained.
''They're one of the best in terms of both raw power and mobility.'' Mayuki added.
''Their ability in the air is obscenely powerful, making it their strongest feature.'' Domon spoke serious.
The boys and girls from Raimon listened to the two in silence, an expression of worry seen on most of the faces.
''I-I need to use the bathroom!'' Kabeyama spoke, while he jumped up.
''There's no point getting scared before the match!'' Michiko replied.
With a sigh, Kabeyama sat down again.
''If this is about height, then it's no problem!'' Endou spoke, holding up three fingers. ''We have… Fire Tornado, Dragon Crash and also Dragon Tornado!''
''And we have Black Cross, Devil's Heart and Jade Shot.'' Misaki added with a smile.
''I wonder…'' Domon started. ''Their jumping ability isn't average, you know. They could probably suppress Dragon Tornado from above. The same goes for the shoots from the girls.''
''I doubt it.'' Nori gritted.
''Domon is right,'' Gouenji suddenly spoke, catching everybody by surprise. ''I've fought against them before, too. They're better than Teikoku in mid-air battle alone. If they come down on us with their jumping ability…''
''No way…'' Yorina wrote scared.
''So even Dragon Tornado or our shoots may not be effective…'' Azula added.
''I-I really do need to use the bathroom!'' Kabeyama yelled.
''A new Hissatsu technique,'' Misaki suddenly spoke with a smile. ''Let's create a new Hissatsu technique!''
''One that'll let us control the skies!'' Endou added, getting Misaki's drift.
And with that spirit, the teams entered the field, ready to start practice. Endou and Misaki stood on top of a building and threw balls down towards the players. The players had to jump up and kick the ball back to their captain, but after the first couple of shots, it was seen that it was easier said than done. In the mean time, Misaki saw Domon greeting Aki.
''Yo! So, how do I look?'' The boy joked.
He was wearing Raimon's soccer uniform.
''It looks good on you.'' Aki replied with a smile.
''Aki, you're involved in soccer again?'' Mayuki asked, who joined her brother and her childhood friend.
Aki ignored the question and instead decided to shout to the players on the field.
In the mean time, Furukabu, the busdriver for Raimon, walked onto the field.
''Yo, you boys and girls are working hard!''
''Furukabu-san!'' Endou exclaimed.
''I saw your match against Occult Junior High.'' Furukabu spoke. ''You two did great! It was as if I was seeing the Inazuma Eleven come back from the dead!''
''Inazuma Eleven?'' Endou replied questioningly.
Misaki also looked confused. Furukabu looked surprised by the fact the two didn't know about it.
''Hey, now! Don't tell me that the grandson of Endou Daisuke doesn't know about the Inazuma Eleven!'' He spoke.
Endou blinked two times. The group had caught notice of the conversation and everybody stopped their training and formed a circle around Furukabu.
''Forty years back, the Inazuma Eleven was hailed as Raimon Junior High's legendary soccer team. If only that thing hadn't appeared before they played the Football Frontier championships…'' The last part, Furukabu murmured to himself.
''Hm?'' Misaki asked.
''N-No, never mind that,'' Furukabu laughed sheepishly. ''Anyway, they were a powerful bunch! I bet they would've been a force to reckon with even if they'd taken on the world!''
''HNNNGGG….Cool! That is superbly cool!'' Endou exclaimed overly excited.
Misaki, who sat next to him, chuckled.
''Inazuma Eleven, huh?'' She asked to herself.
''That's right!'' Furukabu replied, capturing her words. ''And Endou, you're a direct descendant of a member in that legendary team!''
''You mean Grandpa?'' Endou asked.
''Endou Daisuke was the coach for Inazuma Eleven!'' Furukabu spoke excited. ''You could even say he was the symbol of soccer itself!''
Endou stood up determined.
''All right! Then I'll definitely become as strong as the Inazuma Eleven.'' He spoke hyped up. ''Just like Grandpa!''
''And you'll do this all by yourself?'' Kazemaru asked, who sat on the other side of Endou.
All the team members, both boys and girls, looked at Endou with a smile, all having a determined glance in their eyes.
''With everyone else, of course!'' Endou spoke happily. ''Right?''
''Yeah!'' All the players replied.
''We'll show everyone that we'll become a team as legendary as the Inazuma Eleven!'' Misaki jumped up, also hyped up.
In the mean time, Fuyukai-sensei could be seen conversing with someone on the phone, a good distance away from the players.
''Yes… Yes, I have no doubt that they will lose to Nosei Junior High… Yes, I understand.'' Then, he hung up.
Misaki, Kira and their mother started dinner.
''So, how was practice, darling?'' Misaki's mother asked.
''We're gonna work on some new Hissatsu techniques. Oh, and two new people joined the club. A boy and a girl, both siblings.'' I replied, taking another bite from my rice curry.
''Sounds exciting.'' Her mother said with a smile.
''And today, we also heard about the famous Inazuma Eleven.'' Misaki spoke excited.
''Inazuma Eleven?'' Kira asked.
''They were believed to be the best soccer team on the world. Endou's grandfather, Endou Daisuke is told to be a legend!''
''Sugoi!'' Kira exclaimed. ''Where is Endou-sama now?''
Misaki pointed up.
''He is dead, sadly.''
''That's quite sad. I'm sure you would've loved to meet him.'' Misaki's mother smiled.
''For sure! I believe he was just as passionate about soccer as me and Endou-kun are.'' Misaki replied.
''Nee-san is a soccer freak!'' Kira giggled.
Misaki grinned sheepishly.
''You could say that.''
''Well, keep up the good work, okay?'' Misaki's mother smiled.
The next morning, both the teams of Raimon were seen training on the riverbank soccer field. They were all fired up and people were seen grouping up, trying to come up with a new Hissatsu technique. It didn't work out that well. Misaki, who was observing next to the two managers of the team, sweat dropped, after Kabeyama tried to invent something, called 'Kabeyama Spin'.
''Will you guys really be able to learn a new Hissatsu technique before the match against Nosei?'' Aki asked Misaki.
Misaki just sighed. Evening soon came in and after hours of intensive practice, everyone was worn out and was laying on the ground, panting. No progress was made. The players said goodbye to each other and headed home.
''The Football Frontier is closing in on us, but we still haven't found a single clue on what to use for a Hissatsu technique.'' Tsukiko sighed.
Endou, Kazemaru, Gouenji, Misaki, Himeka and her were making their way home.
''Don't give up.'' Misaki replied.
''I haven't given up!'' Tsukiko replied, puffing her cheeks up. ''But it won't hurt to think about the worst possible scenario.''
''Even if we do find a new Hissatsu technique, we still need the time to practice it in order to perfect it.'' Gouenji spoke.
Kazemaru sighed deep.
''We'll manage somehow.'' Endou smiled after a while.
''Somehow, you say?'' Tsukiko replied.
Then suddenly, the rumbling of a stomach was heard. Endou started to grin sheepishly.
''All right! Let's hurry to Rairaiken and discuss strategies!'' He shouted.
And with that, he walked off with a happy smile. The five people who stayed behind smiled with a sweat drop. They all followed the enthusiastic male-captain and ended up by the Ramen shop. Once everyone was inside and was eating a fresh bowl of Ramen, Kazemaru spoke up.
''How will we fight against Nosei Junior High without a new Hissatsu technique?''
Endou was too busy slurping his Ramen to reply and Gouenji was neatly eating next to him in silence. The three other girls were eating their Ramen in silence too. Once Endou had slurped in his Ramen, he replied.
''I believe in everyone.'' He replied.
''Huh?'' Tsukiko sounded.
''We'll still win, even without a new Hissatsu technique,'' Endou smiled. ''Remember, we're going to become the Inazuma Eleven!''
Gouenji was eating with a serious expression. Himeka stared at him with a worried frown.
''Your noodles will go stale if you don't eat soon.'' Misaki pointed out towards the greenette.
''O-Oh no.'' Himeka replied, quickly eating some of them.
''Inazuma Eleven, huh?'' Gouenji spoke up.
''I wonder what kind of Hissatsu techniques Grandpa and the others had. I wish I knew.''
''There's always the Inazuma Eleven's secret technique manual.'' Hibiki, the owner of Rairaiken, spoke up, chopping noodles.
''They have a secret technique manual?'' Misaki asked.
''I wonder what's written in it.'' Tsukiko wondered out loud.
Then suddenly, it struck everybody like lightning. Once it hit, Endou, Kazemaru and Tsukiko jumped up, while Gouenji, Misaki and Himeka had a shocked expression.
''EHHH? They have a secret technique manual?!'' The three jumped up teens exclaimed.
''It's not a notebook, is it?'' Misaki asked wary. ''If you mean the special training notebook, Endou-kun has that at home!''
''That notebook is only a small part of the secret Hissatsu technique manual.'' Hibiki replied, cooking further without a care.
Endou started to beam in happiness.
''Are you Endou Daisuke's grandson?'' Hibiki asked the orange-headband boy.
''Uhn!'' He replied.
''I see! So you're Daisuke-san's grandson!'' Hibiki exclaimed.
Then, he started to laugh. The six teens blinked a couple of times. Hibiki leaned forward and pointed a big soup spoon at Endou, taking him by surprise. Endou fell backwards off his chair and the other five looked shocked.
''Endou-kun!'' Tsukiko exclaimed.
''Ouch…'' Endou muttered, sitting up.
Then, he gained an angry look.
''What are you-''
He got interrupted by Hibiki, who shoved the soup spoon almost in his face.
''That secret manual might put your life in danger.'' Hibiki spoke.
Endou gritted his teeth.
''Do you still want to see it while knowing that?'' Hibiki continued.
Endou grinned a smug smile.
Hibiki grinned and Misaki frowned.
''What is this all about?'' She muttered towards herself.
''A secret manual?!'' All the male and female players of Raimon's soccer club exclaimed.
They were in the clubroom and Endou and Misaki stood in front of them.
''Yeah,'' Endou replied. ''The old man said that Grandpa's secret manual is hidden in this school.''
''But how does the Rairaiken owner know about it?'' Minorin asked.
Endou sweat dropped.
Everybody fell anime-style.
''But hey, don't worry about the small details!'' Endou continued. ''In any case, if we were to find that secret manual, it'll be in…''
''Are you sure it's in here?'' Azula whispered unsure.
''Yeah,'' Kazemaru replied. ''According to Rairaiken's owner, it's inside a safe that's in the chairman's office.''
The entire soccer club, both male and female, was standing behind the chairman's door, Endou peeking inside.
''Let's go,'' He whispered. ''We'll slip in and out, before anyone notices.''
''Yeah.'' Everybody whispered back.
Endou opened the door further and suddenly, everybody tumbled inside, but Gouenji, Domon, Mayuki and Minorin, because they were leaning against the opposite wall.
''H-Heavy!'' Tsukiko exclaimed, buried on the bottom of the pile.
''Sshh!'' The others shushed her.
Once they all crawled up, they made their way over to the safe.
''All right. Leave this to me.'' Endou said with a smile.
He placed his ear against the lock and turned the knob, until he heard a firm click. He smiled content. He pulled open the lock, but it didn't budge.
''Huh?'' He asked.
He started pulling the knob like mad, but again, nothing happened.
''What happened to 'Leave this to me'?'' Michiko asked with a sweat drop.
''Hurry and do it, before someone sees us!'' Nori hissed.
''I've already seen you.'' A voice suddenly sounded.
Everybody turned around in shock. There, in the doorpost, stood Natsumi.
''U-Umm… This is… Eh…'' Shizori started to stammer.
''It's training!'' Himeka came to the rescue.
''T-That's right!'' Endou chimed in. ''We're practicing stealth moves so the enemy won't notice us!''
Everybody smiled innocently. Natsumi sighed.
''This is what you guys are looking for, right?'' The chairman's daughter spoke.
She held up a worn notebook.
''Endou Daisuke's secret manual!'' Misaki exclaimed.
Endou ran forward and grabbed it out of Natsumi's hands. He opened it eagerly and red through the pages.
''But it won't be of any use to you.'' Natsumi spoke.
''Why?'' Kazemaru asked.
''The writing is unintelligible.'' Natsumi explained.
Everybody looked shocked. Everybody bend over the notebook and it was seen being scribbled with messy drawing and unreadable kanji.
''Is he using some kind of secret code?'' Misaki asked.
''Maybe it's a foreign language.'' Kabeyama added.
''No. It's just appallingly messy handwriting.'' Minorin shrugged.
Everybody went in emo-corner state, except Endou, Gouenji and Minorin, the two latter just leaning against the wall.
''So it's just messy…'' Kurimatsu spoke.
''I think so.'' Kazemaru replied.
''All this effort for nothing.'' Rima sighed.
''Then no one but Daisuke-san would be able to read it…'' Himeka sighed.
''It's useless to us.'' Nori murmured.
Endou was still smiling and going through the pages.
''Endou!'' The group shouted annoyed.
''Sugee! He's even got the secret of God Hand in here!'' The male captain shouted.
''EEEEEHHH?! You're able to read it?!'' Everybody shouted.
''Well, I have been reading grandpa's special training notebook,'' Endou exclaimed with a smile. ''I didn't know what he had written in it at first, either, but I became able to interpret it bit by bit.''
''Endou, you're amazing!'' Misaki smiled.
Endou grinned sheepishly. He sat down on a table and looked through the pages once again. Misaki and Kazemaru were watching over his shoulder.
''The way to defeat our opponent's aerial attack is this,'' He said, pointing at something in his notebook. ''Inazuma Otoshi.''
''Inazuma… Otoshi?'' Michiko repeated.
''That sounds so cool!'' Yuri smiled.
''I'm going to read it, all right?'' Endou said.
He coughed and then started to read.
''One person jumps with a 'boing'. Another person will 'bang' on this person, flip over and then 'zabang'. This is the secret behind Inazuma Otoshi.''
Once Endou finished reading, everybody had already fallen over anime-style.
''W-What was that?'' Misaki sweat dropped.
''All it says is stuff like 'boing' and 'bang'…'' Kabeyama murmured.
''Endou, did your Grandpa have good grades in language class?'' Kazemaru asked with a sweat drop.
''I'm not sure…'' Endou replied. ''From what I know, he seemed to only be interested in soccer.''
''After all that anticipation, all we've got are 'boing' and 'zabang'?'' Someoka asked.
''He could at least have described it in more detail.'' Minorin murmured.
''But the thing is, Grandpa never lies.'' Endou replied fired up. ''What he's written in here is really the secret behind Inazuma Otoshi. All we've got to do now is train!''
''I wonder where that self-confidence of yours comes from.'' Himeka asked.
Gouenji looked over at Endou with a stern glance, then looked down.
''Jump with a 'boing'…?'' He murmured to himself.
Domon and Mayuki were walking down the street, both panting a bit.
''Time for a small break.'' Domon said, leaning against a lamppost.
Mayuki let out a deep breath.
''Practice sure is tough.'' She sighed with a smile.
Then, she suddenly straightened her back.
''They have Endou Daisuke's secret manual, but none of the others besides Endou is able to read it.'' She suddenly spoke in the void in a serious voice, becoming a bit scarier.
''There'd be no point in stealing it from them.'' Domon added.
Then, the two walked further, like nothing happened. Behind the lamppost, Kidou Yuuto from Teikoku was seen with a smug smile. He grinned and then, left his post. Domon and Mayuki returned to the training grounds, just on time to see Someoka on a hill with a tire in his hand.
''Today's main event is this!'' He spoke. ''It's a special training that I'll teach you how to block the opponent's techniques.''
Everybody suddenly made way and the unlucky person in the middle who remained was Shishido.
''Here I go!'' Someoka shouted.
He swung the tire towards Shishido.
''Eh?! Me?!'' He shouted in panic. ''I can't do it right off the bat!''
He got flown into the air. Endou smiled and watched him fly.
''That's nice, special training, that is.'' He spoke.
Misaki stood next to him and sweat dropped.
Then, Gouenji approached the two.
''Endou, do you have a moment?'' He asked. ''I have some thoughts on that secret manual.''
In the mean time, the second person, Kurimatsu, was seen flying through the air.
''Uhn!'' Endou replied.
Gouenji stared at the brown-haired female captain.
''Hirosaki-san, this might be interesting for you as well.''
Misaki's eyes widened.
''Ah… hai!'' She replied.
She quickly crouched down next to Gouenji and Endou. Gouenji started to draw in the ground with a stick.
''Maybe this is how that technique is supposed to work.'' He started to speak.
Misaki bowed a little forward to see what he was drawing.
''First, one person jumps,'' Gouenji begun. ''Another person uses the first person as a stepping stone, allowing him to jump even higher.''
Misaki's eyes widened and she started to get where he was going.
''After he reaches a decent height, he uses an overhead kick.'' Gouenji finished.
Then, he looked at the two captains.
''What do you two think?''
''Gouenji…'' Misaki smiled. ''You're amazing!''
Endou was beaming.
''You're right, I think that is exactly how it goes!''
In the mean time, Shourinji was flying through the air, screaming. Endou and Misaki stood up, paying no attention to the flying soccer players at all.
''The only person who can pull off an overhead kick with an unstable stepping stone…'' Endou begun.
''… is no one else but you.'' Misaki replied, catching Endou's drift and pointing at the platinum-blonde flame striker.
Gouenji looked unsure.
''Me?'' He asked.
''Ah, and Minorin as well.'' Endou said to Misaki.
''And the person who can act as Gouenji's stepping stone is…'' She begun.
The two captains looked over at the boys who were practicing. The boy the two were talking about was just busy catching the tire, but he got send off flying as well.
''It's be Kabeyama!'' Endou finished for Misaki.
He closed his eyes and balled his fists with a grin.
''All right!'' He shouted.
Misaki smiled. Then suddenly, her smile disappeared.
''But who is supposed to act as stepping stone for Minorin?'' She asked.
Gouenji frowned and Endou tapped his chin with his index finger.
''We don't have girls on the team like… Kabeyama.'' Misaki sweat dropped.
''You are going to need to find someone on the team who has some abnormal chest muscles.'' Endou replied.
''But Endou… you know how painful it is for girls to jump on their chest… right?'' Misaki asked with another sweat drop.
Gouenji gained a sweat drop too and Endou flushed a shade of red.
''A-Ah… I forgot.'' He stammered.
Misaki sighed and tried to think. She looked at all her practicing girls.
''How are we going to do this…'' She thought.
Then, she had a light-bulb moment.
''I got it!'' She smiled.
She turned towards the male captain and the flame striker.
''Don't worry. The girls will manage. You two just need to focus on your team.'' She smiled.
Endou and Gouenji smiled back.
''Got it!'' Endou replied.
The two turned back towards their own practice area's.
''Misaki, there you are!'' Yuri spoke.
''You were gone a long time.'' Himeka added.
Misaki smiled apologetic.
''Gomen, minna. But Endou, Gouenji and I have figured out how Inazuma Otoshi works. Let's try to master it, girls.'' The captain replied.
The girls smiled excited.
''Who are going to perform the Hissatsu?'' Michiko asked.
Himeka turned towards their ace striker.
''In any case, Minorin is in.''
''For the two others, I need to look.'' Misaki said in thoughts.
''Two others?'' Tsukiko asked.
''What is the Hissatsu looking like?'' Azula asked.
Misaki made the drawing in the sand Gouenji had made earlier. Only, she made the version for the girls.
''The Hissatsu requires three people. Two for the first part and one for the finishing touch. One girl will throw up a second girl in the air. Minorin will jump on the stomach of the second girl and lift herself up even higher. Then, she will make an overhead kick.''
''Sugoi! That sounds really cool.'' Shizori smiled.
''It sounds hard to master too.'' Rima frowned.
''I know. And that's why I need two strong girls to do the first part. The first one needs to have a lot of strength in her arms. She needs to be able to throw the second girl in the air and also, catch her when she comes down again with the force of Minorin. The second girl needs to have a muscled stomach and be able to tighten her stomach muscles, so Minorin can make the jump clearly.'' Misaki explained.
The girls looked at each other.
''Who knows from herself that she has a lot of power in her arms?'' Misaki asked.
''Well, me, but I need to be on goal.'' Michiko replied.
''Yeah. Michiko-san, you're out of the question.''
The girls looked at each other.
''Maybe I can do the first part.'' Himeka smiled.
''You mean, throw the second girl in the air?'' Tsukiko asked.
Himeka nodded. Misaki smiled.
''Yosh! Himeka, we'll train you on that.''
The female captain then turned towards the remaining girls.
''Who is light and has some strong abdomen muscles?'' Misaki asked.
Yuri raised her hand.
''I think I can do it.'' She smiled.
''Seriously, Yuri? You think you can handle it?'' Misaki asked.
Yuri smiled again.
''I'm tougher than I look.''
Misaki smiled content.
''Okay, girls! I want to train separately with Yuri and Himeka. Rima and Tsukiko, I want you two to help Minorin with her shooting by throwing her up in the air. Nori, I want you to keep shooting on goal with Michiko. Yorina, Shizori and Azula, defender practice.'' The captain ordered.
''Hai, captain!'' Everybody replied.
Then, everybody went to work.
''Okay. Himeka, I'm going to need a lot of strength. Yuri needs to come up real high.'' Misaki spoke stern.
''That's why we are going to attach several weights on Yuri to make her heavier.'' The captain added.
Himeka gulped a little. Yuri smiled an apologetic smile.
''Ii yo. I should be fine.''
Misaki smiled content.
''Yosh, that's the spirit. Now, for starters, Himeka, try to throw Yuri up in the air.''
Himeka nodded. She bended a little through her knees and placed her hands together, so that Yuri could place her foot in it and support her arms on Himeka's shoulders.
''Three… two… one… GO!'' Himeka shouted.
She used all her muscle and Yuri wasn't ready for that kind of experience. She tumbled backwards and ended up on the ground.
''Itte…'' She murmured, crawling up again.
Himeka stumbled backwards too and fell on her butt.
''That's heavier than I thought.'' She panted.
''Again.'' She ordered stern.
The two girls tried again and once more, they both ended up on the ground.
''Again!'' Misaki shouted again.
The greenette and blunette tried once more and Himeka used all her strength once more to get Yuri high up in the air. Once she pushed and Yuri was flying, she stumbled a little backwards, but she didn't fell down. Yuri, however, was very unbalanced in the air and ended up on the ground.
''Ouch…'' She muttered, when she crawled up.
''Yuri… are you okay?'' Misaki asked.
''H-Hai, I'm fine. I just need to focus more.'' Yuri replied.
''You can do it, Yuri-san!''
She turned towards Himeka.
''Midorikawa-san, once more!''
''Uhn!'' Himeka replied.
The two tried once more. Himeka threw Yuri up in the air and Yuri leaned backwards, so that her stomach got exposed to the upper side. Then, Himeka caught her and the two both fell.
''Girls, that looked like something!'' Misaki praised. ''Let's keep this up!''
''Ah!'' The two girls replied.
In the mean time, Minorin, Tsukiko and Rima were training together on another piece of the field.
''Minorin, ready?'' Tsukiko asked, while she had grabbed Rima just above the wrists.
Rima had done the same by Tsukiko and the two formed some sort of net to throw Minorin up. Minorin, who stood a couple of meters away, nodded.
''Let's do this.''
Minorin started to sprint and jumped up. Tsukiko and Rima pushed her up in the air and Minorin turned upside down, but lost her balance halfway. She smacked hard on the ground.
''Minorin!'' The two girls shouted, while they ran towards the ace striker.
''D-Daijoubu. Please, let's do it again.'' Minorin replied, one eye shut due to the pain.
Tsukiko and Rima nodded determined.
They tried once again and the same happened. Minorin smacked into the ground and crawled up once more.
''Again!'' She shouted.
The two kept going that pace on until late in the evening. By then, Minorin was covered in cuts and bruises and she looked beyond tired.
''Again!'' She shouted.
She ran towards Tsukiko and Rima who threw her up. Minorin turned upside down, pretended to kick and finished her turn in the air. She came back on her feet, but landed unstable and took three passes backwards, before ending up on her butt.
''Sugoi, Minorin!'' Tsukiko shouted.
''So close!'' Rima added.
''At least we're getting somewhere!''
After a couple more minutes, the girls stopped practice and joined with the other girls, who also finished practice. Then, they walked over towards the boys side. There, they saw Kabeyama and Endou covered in tires and rope and Gouenji was in a same state as Minorin.
''You've been working hard too, I see.'' Minorin smiled at Endou.
''You bet!'' The male captain replied.
''I'd say we're one-third on our way.'' Gouenji added.
''Same here!'' Minorin replied.
''We've got hope of success.'' Yorina wrote down.
''Ah!'' Everybody replied, who had red it.
''All right, minna! Just a little more before we play against Nosei Junior High!'' Endou shouted.
''Ah!'' The team replied.
Misaki smiled happily.
''What is this team feeling I feel?''
She shook her head.
''I am really caring about these guys, huh?''
She let her eyes glide over all the male and female players.
End of Chapter Five
Minna-san! Here is Chapter Five for you guys! Gosh, isn't Inazuma Eleven amazing?! Sorry, I just had to write that down. It's seriously my number one obsession. I really enjoyed writing this chapter. Lots of love! xoxo Mamera-chan
