From Mother to Mother (to Be)
Victoire Lupin entered the Burrow, the warm and inviting atmosphere combined with the aroma of backing bread made Victoire sigh. Moll Weasley or "Grandma" had invited her over for lunch. She came alone, as the office had called Teddy in for the day, although he promised to be back for dinner. She strolled into the kitchen and lowered herself into a chair.
"Hello, dear!" Molly Weasley's cheerful voice greeted her, "How's pregnancy treating you?" she asked, indicating her rounded belly.
"Okay, I guess," Victoire replied, "It kicked last night."
"Oh, that's great, Teddy must have been ecstatic." Molly's smiled faded as the young woman's gaze dropped to her hands.
"What's the matter, dear?" Molly asked gently, putting her hand on Victoire's shoulder.
"It's just; he was so...happy, and so excited, and so was I, but…oh, I don't know!" She let out a sigh, "maybe we started too soon, maybe I'm too young for this. I'm only twenty-three; most of my friends from Hogwarts aren't even married yet!"
"Well then, tell me, were any of your friends head-over-heels in love with someone?" Victoire shook her head. "And did any of feel like they were ready to get married?" Victoire thought for a moment, but hesitantly shook her head again.
"Well, there you have it." Molly proclaimed, "You're not them. You were ready to get married when you did and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have started trying to have children if you didn't feel like you were ready to be a mother. It's just natural to feel this way, I was like this when I was pregnant with Bill, but when the time came I did fine, and you'll do fine too, dear."
"Really?" Victoire looked at her with doubtful eyes.
"Really," Victoire smiled.
"Thanks, Grandma." Molly smiled and wrapped her granddaughter in a hug.
"You're welcome, dear."
