Disclaimer: I don't own Loveless
With darkness coating the sky, Ritsuka watched blood trail across his arm from the opening created by a blade five minutes before.
It was a mark to judge, a mark to remind him this skin did not belong to him.
He stared at the slice and tears of blood, entranced. Blinking broke the captivation, and he slid his sleeve over the red streams.
Unhindered by mere bruises gained during a spell battle earlier that day, Soubi climbed up to the unlocked window. Pushing it open, he climbed in. Immediately an odor not of his sacrifice rose to his senses.
Ritsuka was a light scent, a mixture of lavender, and baby powder. This was another, unfortunately also familiar smell. The vaguely metallic mixture of life, and death.
Ritsuka heard the window open, and moved his arm to hide from Soubi's sight.
"Ritsuka are you bleeding?"
Soubi had heightened senses, especially in such instances as this. He saw the slight jerking, and reached quickly yet gently, and rolled up Ritsuka's sleeve.
"How did you know?" Ritsuka asked, anxiously tearing his reddened arm away.
"I know you, I sense you" his fighter responded.
Tormented, Ritsuka stated "I don't want you to be here right now."
"At least allow me to bandage it."
"Fine, then you leave." Ritsuka ordered with confusion, and anguish causing his lips to tremble.
"As you wish", Soubi responded subserviently, only because he would be able to view, and determine the extent of the wound.
Removing a first aid kit from under the bed carefully and skillfully Soubi cleaned the blood from the thin arm, wrapping a bandage over the bleeding cut. Complete in moments, he kissed the pale hand before him.
Blushing Ritsuka silently pointed to the window.
"Yes master", Soubi said then walked across the room, and before exiting whispered a reminder to his sacrifice- "I love you".
He knew Ritsuka was likely to wound himself again, but now the bandage would shield his skin, and memory of the kiss may give him second thoughts.
