Bart got that laugh out of Jaime. The one where his warm brown eyes lit up, and his nose crinkled. It was the kind of laugh that made Jaime's face go soft, and open. The kind that Bart feel all tingly inside. He beamed at his friend as they walked down the El Paso sidewalks together.
"Jaime!" a husky voice called out to them. "Hey Jaime!"
Jaime's head perked up as he looked over his shoulder. Tye Longshadow waved as he jogged up to them, his long hair flapping behind him. Jaime broke out into a grin.
"Tye!" Jaime turned to meet him.
"Hey man, what's up?" Tye said.
"What's up with me? You're the one who's been missing in action for a week!" Jaime cried, moving to embrace his friend.
Tye shrugged under the hug, and pulled away to look at Jaime. "Well you know how things are with my Team."
"You could've called," Jaime lectured.
Tye rolled his eyes at this. "You don't need to baby me, Jaime."
"I still worry about you, hermano. You know that."
Tye's gaze had moved to the speedster. "Who's your friend?"
Bart grinned back at Tye sheepishly and Jaime jumped a little.
"Oh! Tye, this is my—-" Jaime cleared his throat, "This is my friend Bart. Bart this is my buddy Tye."
"Hey," Bart said with a small wave. "Nice too meet you."
"Ohhh…." Tye's face broke into recognition. "So you're Bart."
"The one and only."
Tye got a mischievous look on his face as he eyed Jaime. "I've heard all about you."
Jaime flushed. "Well uh—"
"So, still using that lemon shampoo Bart?" Tye teased.
"Uh…" Bart blinked in confusion.
"Tye," Jaime hissed, looking betrayed.
"Does chicken whizzie cheese dust still gather at the corners of your mouth in an 'oh so adorable' way?" Tye said, using air quotes.
Bart subconsciously wiped his mouth and checked. Tye laughed as Jaime went bright red.
"How about your hands, Bart? What kind of moisturizer do you use? Jaime here says they're really soft—"
Jaime elbowed him in the ribs. "Knock it off Tye, you're embarrassing him!"
Tye was still grinning. "Sure he's the one embarrassed."
Bart laughed a little shakily. "Yeah well—"
"Hey! You two should double with me and Sam sometime! We'll catch a movie or something, it'll be great," Tye said, whacking Jaime in the arm, who was rubbing his neck anxiously.
"Uhh…." Jaime said. "Sure I guess."
"Sounds good! I'll catch you later, have fun on your date!" Tye said, running off the direction he came, giving Jaime a wink.
He disappeared, and Bart had to press his lips together to keep from smiling as he turned on Jaime.
"So…" he started. "My food-coated face is attractive," Bart said waggling his eyebrows suggestively
