Chapter 3
Getting To Know Him Part 2

(The Justice League Watchtower, DC Universe)

Wonder Woman was rushing through the Watchtower searching for Spider-Man. Supergirl and Batgirl were racing after her, though they were wondering just what Diana was going to do once she found the webslinger.

Suddenly, Barbara got a call on her wrist-communicator.

("Barbara! Where are you?") Batman's voice sounded.

"I'm with Kara and Diana. What's wrong?" Batgirl asked.

("The Amazon delegation is here.") Batman said, getting the trios attention.

"What? But that's impossible. We were only in Diana's room for... oh crap!" she gasped as she looked at her communicators digital watch.

"What?" Supergirl asked.

("The Amazons showed up ten minutes ago.") Batman said.

"Which means we're late!" Batgirl groused.

"Where are they?" Supergirl asked Batgirl.

"Where are they?" Batgirl asked into her communicator.

("Gym Two.") Batman said.

The trio quickly headed to the gymnasium that was on their level, and stopped when they noticed several heroes from both dimensions were standing around the door way.

"What's going on here?" Diana asked one of the League members.

"Artemis is trying to kill Spider-Man." Black Canary said.

"WHAT?!" the amazon princess asked.

"Oh, I gotta see this." Supergirl said.

Pushing through the small crowd of costumed heroes, they paused when they saw two things.

1 - a group of eight amazons, heavily armed, were forming a line and keeping the heroes back away from the gym itself. And 2 - they saw a red and blue costumed man ducking and dodging the aggressive sword swings of a sexy and athletic amazon warrior with fiery red hair, dressed in a white and green outfit with skull symbols on her shoulders, knees and headdress. She had a sword in her right hand, a shield on her left arm, a bow and quiver of arrows strapped to her back.

"What is going on here?" Diana all but demanded.

"The Amazon delegation arrived, and their leader, Artemis, immediately asked where Spider-Man was. We brought her here to the gym, they exchanged a few words, and the next thing we knew she was trying to impale Spider-Man with her sword, while the other amazons are keeping us back." Black Canary asked.

"Why?" Diana asked.

"We don't know. But Spider-Man told us to stay out of it." the Hispanic heroine Firebird said.

"Which we are doing, grudgingly." the green-haired Fire said.

Wonder Woman walked up to one of the other amazons who had arrived with Artemis, and spoke.

"Anatipoli? What's going on here?" Diana asked a brown-haired amazon.

"Queen Hippolyta sent Artemis to kill the man who attempted to force himself on you." she said to the princess.

"WHAT?" Diana gasped.

Supergirl and Batgirl were shocked as well.

"The Queen received word that a male in a red and blue costume attempted to deceive you, and then force himself upon you. With some lie about invading conquerors from the stars." Anatipoli explained.

"That wasn't a lie. An alien race called The Galaxian did in fact try to invade the Earth less than a week ago. But we managed to stop them, along with the man Artemis is trying to kill! And he didn't try to force himself upon me. He hadn't even attempted to kiss my hand." Diana explained.

The group looked back and saw that Spider-Man was going mostly on the defensive, ducking and dodging the red-haired amazon. He wasn't even trying to attack Artemis.

"STAND STILL SO THAT I MAY KILL YOU!" Artemis shouted as she tried to impale the webslinger again.

"You're kidding me, right? Tell me you're joking!" Spider-Man asked as he dodged another sword strike.

"Do You Think I Would Put In Any Effort To Try And Amuse You?" she growled.

"If you did, you'd be a lot prettier." he snarked.

"SHUT UP!" she shouted.

"Jeez! You amazons cannot take a compliment." he said as he leapt over her.

"I Should Kill You Just For Being So Annoying!" she snarled in annoyance.

"If I had a dollar for every time someone said that, I'd rival Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne." he said.

At hearing that, the membership of the Avengers could only nod and agree, which got them odd looks from the Justice League members.

"We have to stop this before Spider-Man is killed." Diana said and tried to get past the amazon line.

"But he was the one sent to seduce you." another amazon said, attempting to block the princess.

"Yes, but he didn't even try. Which is what I need to speak to him about." Diana said, annoyed at the amazon blocking her.

"That... could be a problem." a second amazon, this one possessing blond hair, said.

"Yes, I see." Diana grumbled as the amazons continued to block her.

Just then, several other people arrived. The Avengers team parted, causing the Justice League to respond in kind.

Supergirl and Batgirl looked over and gasped, seeing a new group of heroes, all wearing spider-themed outfits, approaching them.

The first was a man wearing a red bodysuit with a blue sweatshirt without sleeves with a black spider on his chest.

The second was a man dressed in a black bodysuit with a white spider on his chest.

The third was a smaller-looking young man wearing an all black costume with red web-designs on his chest and shoulders, as well as a red spider on his chest.

The fourth was a teenage girl with in a red and white bodysuit with short dark brown hair surrounded by a red and white mask, a white spider symbol on her chest and back.

The fifth was a shapely and athletic woman in a red bodysuit with yellow gloves and boots, webbing underneath her arms, yellow field patch on her stomach and long black hair.

The sixth was a tall and imposing man in black, spiked armor with weapon holsters on his hips and under-arm, and a large white spider on his chest.

The Web Warriors had arrived!

"Dark Spider! What are you all doing here?" Captain America asked the first man in black.

"Spider-Man asked us to come and help with the restoration of their world. Then we heard he was being attacked by a group of amazons." the ebon arachnid said.

"Not group. Just one." Black Canary said to the pair of heroes.

"Who's attacking him?" the red and yellow suited Spider Woman said.

"Some hot red-headed amazon with an attitude is trying to kill Spider-Man." Black Widow said.

"Sounds like Asuka." Dark Spider grumbled to himself.

"How's he doing?" the black-armored Agent Venom said.

"He's not trying to punch or kick her." the animal-mimic Vixen said.

"Typical. I'll deal with this." Dark Spider said as he advanced towards the amazon line.

"Hey, wait..." the white-and-blue garbed heroine called Ice said.

Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Batgirl saw what was happening before they could call out.

Seeing the spider-hero advance upon them, the amazon called Anatipoli tried to intercept him.

"We have orders to..." she said as she and another amazon thrust out their swords to Dark Spider.

The ebon arachnid grabbed the amazons swords by their blades and bent them in half.

The amazons gasped as Dark Spider leapt over them.

He was quickly intercepted by another amazon, this one a blond with braided hair, dressed in a white and blue tunic. Her name was Mala.

"None may interfere with Lady Artemis's battle against..."

The amazon stumbled backwards and bit, her lip bleeding slightly.

"You... hit me!" she gasped as a collective intake of breath was heard from the assembled heroes.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I thought a warrior could take a punch." Dark Spider snarked.

"Grrr!" the amazon growled.

"And here he goes." Spider-Girl and Kid Arachnid said, backing up the other heroes.

"Someone who carries weapons, and are willing to use them, are no champions of peace." Dark Spider said.

"We're not foolish to believe everyone thinks the same as we do." Mala replied.

"But neither are you peaceful." he said.

"Who is that?" Batgirl asked one of the Avengers.

"Dark Spider. He's Spider-Man's younger brother." The Scarlet Witch said.

"And him?" Supergirl asked, pointing to the red-suited spider-hero.

"Scarlet Spider. Spider-Man's... twin, you could say." Black Widow said.

"And them?" Vixen asked, pointing to the other spider heroes.

"Kid Arachnid is Spider-Man's protégée. Spider-Girl is Dark Spider's sister. Spider Woman is an ally of his. And Agent Venom was once his childhood bully, now ally." Captain America explained.

"Nice." Fire said.

"Wait. If Dark Spider is Spider-Man's younger brother, then wouldn't Spider-Girl be Spider-Man's little sister as well?" Ice asked.

"No. Dark Spider adopted Spider-Girl a while back. She's more his sister than Spider-Man's." Black Widow said.

"Huh. Weird."

"I'm going to kill you!" Mala shouted in anger.

"Stronger than you have tried." Dark Spider said.

"You have yet to face the strength of an amazon." she declared.

"I know. Because you just, keep, talking." he mocked her.

"Is he always so... antagonistic?" Black Canary asked.

"Not always. But he's gotten better at it lately." Spider Woman said.

The Avengers and Justice League members just watched as Dark Spider used his incredible speed, reflexes and agility to dodge the blond amazons sword attacks, using his impressive strength to punch, kick and chop her. His movements were almost a blur, some of the spider-heroes having trouble keeping up with him.

Within a minute, Dark Spider had defeated the amazon, striking several nerve clusters in her body in order to get her to fall to the ground.

"I'm... not beaten..." Mala groaned as she tried to get up.

"Enough, Mala!" Diana snapped at the group. "This is completely and utterly ridiculous! And It Ends Now!" she shouted, getting the other amazons to cringe slightly.

One of the amazons, who had short auburn hair, helped Mala stand to her feet.

"If it makes you feel better, I was trained by a woman. A Greek woman." Dark Spider said to the blond amazon.

Mala gasped when she heard that.

The group looked over and saw that Spider-Man had defeated Artemis, who was now webbed up to the wall with her entire body restrained.

"Release me now, or I'll..." Artemis snarled.

"Enough, Artemis!" Diana snapped at the redhead.

"Huh? When did he..." Supergirl asked, seeing Artemis struggling to get free.

"We were kinda distracted by Dark Spider's fight against that blond amazon." Batgirl said to her friend.

After admonishing the Amazon delegation for their actions, Diana sent them off with Batgirl and Supergirl. She then turned to Spider-Man, who had just finished talking to his spider-allies.

"Spider-Man." Wonder Woman said to the webslinger.

"Yes, your highness?" Spider-Man asked the amazon princess.

"I would like to speak with you." she said.

"Uh... okay."

The pair of heroes walked off, leaving the others to just watch and stare.

"Should we be worried?" Black Widow wondered.

"No. I don't think she'll try and kill him." Black Canary said.

"That's reassuring." the Russian spy said.

"And what are the rest of us going to do?" Agent Venom asked.

"We have your assignments here." Superman said as he arrived with Batman.

"Great." he said. "I was getting bored."

"Shouldn't the X-Men be here as well?" Hawkeye asked.

"They said they might send someone to help out." Scarlet Spider said.

"Someone? One person? Who?" Mockingbird asked.

"They said they were sending Colossus to help with the rebuilding." Scarlet Spider said.

"Good choice." Captain America said.

"So, what can I do for you, your majesty?" Spider-Man asked.

"First of all, you can refrain from calling me 'your majesty'. I dislike titles." Wonder Woman said.

"Really? You have a lot of them." he stated.

"I am aware." she said with a sigh.

"So, what do you want me to call you?"

"Well... Diana would be a good start." she said with a smile.

"Uh... that would imply that you and I are friends, and after our more recent conversations..." he said with slight hesitation.

"And that is something I wish to change."

"How so?"

"You are very suspicious, aren't you?" she asked.

"I have good reason to be."

"I suppose you do." she said. "Captain America and his allies have provided me with information on you, most of which was not very... flattering."

"Ah. You must have been reading the Daily Bugle news clippings." he deduced.

"I have. The editor of that newspaper does not seem very sympathetic of your situation."

"That's putting it mildly. Jameson does that for two reasons. To sell Newspapers, and because he doesn't trust people who wear masks."

"Even the Avengers?"

"Even the Avengers. Stark has actually considered suing him for libel. Or buying the Daily Bugle so that he'd stop running those stories. But... freedom of the press is still considered a right of the people, and to take that away would make us no better than some tyrant trying to impose their will on others."

"Idealistic. But he sounds no better than some persons I have known in my life."

"I'm sure." he said with a sigh. "So... was there anything else?" he said, turning away from her.

"Are you trying to get away from me?" she asked with an amused smirk.

"Well, I'm not usually sought out by people who don't have a good opinion of me." he said.

Diana sighed as he said that, frowning a little.

"True. And I won't defend my actions. I have been sought after by many men who have tried to use many different tactics in order to sleep with me."

Thought she wasn't going to defend her actions? he wondered. "I don't doubt." he said.

"Which is something that the Galaxians took into account when they gave you the file on me. The one that no one ever showed me." she said.

Oh, so there it is! She wants to know about the file. Peter thought to himself. "Why would they?" he asked.

"Pardon?" she asked, confused by his words.

"Why would someone show you a file on yourself, if it was created from the observations and opinions on other people? What they see of you and how you view yourself are two different things."

"Which is not the same thing. But I would have at least liked to have been given the benefit of the doubt." she said.

"I suppose that's fair. Batman and Superman have the file, so you'll have to talk to them." he said.

"I would rather talk to you." she said.

"About what?"

"Our previous conversation."

"We didn't really have one."

Sigh. "You're not making this easy, are you?"

"I'm known for it."

"Why did you say that?" she asked.

"Because I've dealt with royalty before, and you're just a different type of royalty."

"I am a warrior first, and a princess second. Your previous statements seemed to indicate a formed opinion of me."

"You didn't exactly disagree, now did you?"

Diana was silent at hearing that.

"You said you would never have slept with me even if you had been told the truth, because you wouldn't have believed it. Several people have tried to seduce you, a fact which was included in that file, made me confident that trying to convince you of what was at stake would have been a waste of time."

"What was in that file I'm sure was not 100% accurate." she stated.

"It was good enough."

"You could have shown me that file." she said.

"You would have thought it was me who wrote that file just to try and convince you that what I was saying was the truth. It wasn't solid evidence." he said.

"Which is something the Galaxians were counting on when they chose you."

"You mean the whole thing was a set-up?" he asked with a depressed sigh. "Yeah, that makes sense. I did wonder why they choose me, and not someone like Captain America or Thor to win you over. Someone who was more like you."

Diana looked a little annoyed as he said that, wondering why he would criticize himself in such a way. She had seen him in action, and more recently against Artemis.

"But you have proven yourself in battle before. And again more recently against one of the fiercest amazon warriors of Themyscira." she said.

"Not because I am a warrior, but because I didn't want to die." he explained.

"With your physical abilities, you could have been a great warrior." she said.

"But I wasn't born to this. I was..." he said, pausing when he realized what he was about to say.

"Yes?" she asked.

Spider-Man sighed as he realized he was about to tell her something personal about himself. He wasn't sure if she wanted to hear it, or if she would think less of him for it.

"Do you really want to know?" he asked.

"I do." she said.

"Fine." he said and took a deep breath. "I wasn't always like I am now. When I was younger I was a skinny, scrawny nerd. Someone who loved science, math, technology and knowledge in general. Jocks picked on me, girls wouldn't talk to me, because I wasn't strong or fast or powerful. I wasn't even that good looking. Still not, really." he said off-handedly. "When I gained my powers, I became capable of taking on just about anyone and anything. And it affected more than just my physical being. But trying to be someone else, cost me more than I ever imagined." he said, remembering his very limited wrestling career and the death of his uncle by a criminal he refused to stop. "Afterwards, I swore to use all my skills and abilities to do the right thing. Which is how I became a crime fighter. I don't save the world or the galaxy on a regular basis like some of the more powerful heroes do, and I'm fine with that."

Diana just looked at Spider-Man as she listened to his words. He spoke with conviction and the humility of his words gave him an almost noble bearing. He had clearly experienced loss, but having read the file the Avengers on him, she knew that he was more experienced than he let on. He had faced creatures that would have made lesser men cringe in terror and run for their lives. He had so much potential, yet he held himself back. Why?

He has strength, courage and intelligence. He is noble and selfless. And he possesses vast experience in facing threats that would have made more 'courageous' men run in fear, and has survived. Not only survived, but thrived in ways even I could not comprehend. She thought, remembering the very extensive list of villains, monsters and other unique beings he had faced that were mentioned on the computer. Has he also faced the heroes of his world as well? It would not be too far-fetched to think so. She mused, recalling the numerous 'confrontations' she and the other League members have had against one another in the past.

Misunderstandings, manipulations, mind-control, differences of opinions, cross-purposes, even politics have caused more than a few fights between the heroes of the Justice League. She was sure that Spider-Man and his allies were no different.

Having read the file of the foes Spider-Man had faced, Diana had to wonder just how someone like him, who seemed like a perfect candidate for a couch-therapy session, could keep it together as he had. Or was he simply repressed?

I'm no psychologist, but he seems to have more neurosis than anyone I've ever encountered. Despite everything he has faced, he continues to fight on and do the right thing. He simply lacks confidence. Someone like him could have been a great warrior king with the right... She thought before pausing and shaking her head, realizing that she was merely interpreting things from her own viewpoint, as she had a tendency to do, and not his. While her experiences in Mans World had given her a much broader understanding of how things worked, and how different people were, as opposed to her amazon sisters, there was still a lot she didn't understand. Which is why she often fell back on her amazon upbringing. Perhaps he was right about me? she wondered.

"Uh... Wonder Woman?" Spider-Man asked, breaking her out of her silent thoughts.

However, before she could say anything...

A strange portal appeared a few meters from the pair and a human-shaped figure emerged from it.

"What?" Spider-Man gasped.

"Who?" Wonder Woman gasped.

"Ah! I have arrived!" the man, who was dressed in a green and purple outfit, said as the portal closed behind him.

"What the... Kang?" Spider-Man gasped as he saw him.

"Who?" Diana asked.

"Kang the Conqueror. He's a time-traveling warlord from the future. Of my dimension!" Spider-Man said.

"Yes, and now that I am here in this universe, a whole new epoch of possibilities is open to me!" Kang said with a laugh.

"Not if we have anything to say about it!" Wonder Woman said.

"You do not!" Kang smirked as he suddenly tapped his wrist and another portal opened up.

Spider-Man and Wonder Woman looked on as several dinosaurs suddenly appeared in the hallways.

"Great! Velociraptors." Spider-Man gasped when he saw the group of carnivorous pack hunters. "And not the nice ones from Jurassic World."

Kang opened another portal as several other heroes suddenly appeared in the hallways. Half the raptors turned and attacked the newly arrived heroes.

"Spider-Man! What's going on?" Captain America asked as he hurled his shield at one of the raptors.

"Kang the Conqueror! He's trying to take over history in this dimension!" Spider-Man shouted as he webbed up another raptor.

"Great! Like we didn't have enough trouble." Iron Man groaned as he blasted a third raptor.

Diana lassoed one of the raptors and tossed it into one of it's brothers.

Superman, Batman, Flash and Hawkgirl raced onto the scene as another pack of raptors arrived via a new portal.

"Dinosaurs?" Flash gasped as one of the raptors pounced on him.

Hawkgirl slammed her mace into the raptor, knocking it off of Flash.

"Don't say it, just don't say it." Flash said as Hawkgirl helped him up.

While the Justice League and the Avengers were dealing with the dinosaurs, Kang was preparing to slip away into another time period. The longer the time period he was aiming for, the longer the calculations were taking. Mostly because it was a new dimension.

More of the Avengers and Justice Leaguers arrived.

"Here, have some more playmates!" Kang said as he opened another portal, causing a stampede of animals: elephants, rhinos, wildebeests, buffalos, etc, came charging out towards them.

"Oh, Great!" Hawkeye shouted.

"Don't hurt them! They're innocent creatures!" Vixen shouted.

"Innocent? They're trying to run us down!" Green Arrow shouted as he and Red Arrow leapt out of the way of a pair of buffalo.

"They're scared and confused!" she shouted.

"Not helping!" Red Arrow said as he notched up one of his arrows and net-arrowed a wildebeest.

Thor was wrestling an elephant while Captain America deflected a rhino's attack with his shield. Giant Man and Wasp were herding a group of wildebeests, along with The Flash, while Fire and Ice were keeping a group of buffalo backed into a nearby corner.

Suddenly, a large pride of lions, tigers, cheetahs and leopards rushed into the hallway from another portal.

"This is getting ridiculous!" Flash shouted, dodging a tiger attack.

"Another reason why Kang is such a problem!" Iron Man shouted as he tossed a lion off of him.

"Bad kitty!" Vigilante, the cowboy-themed crime fighter, said as he pulled his handguns and fired at the floor in front of a pair of female lions. "Get back!"

Scarlet Witch raced around the corner of the Watchtower passageway, with a large and muscular man in a red, black and yellow bodysuit with an 'X' on his buckle following her.

"Cap! What is going on here?" Wanda shouted as she used her hex-bolts to blast a pair of cheetahs away from her.

"It's Kang The Conqueror!" Captain America shouted as he grabbed a tiger from behind to wrestle with it. "He's trying to conquer this dimension by taking over the past!"

"Sounds like Kang." Mockingbird shouted as she pole-vaulted over the super soldier and kicked one of the cheetahs down.

Piotr Rasputin, the mutant known as Colossus, suddenly transformed into his steel-form and caught a couple of leopards in mid-air, hoisting them up and them throwing them into a pair of lionesses that tried to attack the Captain from behind.

"Thanks, Colossus!" Captain America said as he tossed the tiger to the side, trying not to hurt it.

Kang saw that more heroes were arriving, and opened another portal to unleash a Wolly Mammoth from the Ice Age. It charged towards the heroes, only for Hulk to suddenly arrived and took to wrestling the large mastodon.

"Back off, Manny!" Hulk growled as he tackled the furry elephant.

"So long, fools!" Kang said as he started to open a new portal into time itself.

"He's getting away!" Spider-Man said as he leapt over a rhino.

"After him!" Wonder Woman shouted as she tossed the rhino that had tried to stampede the web-slinger into the corner.

The heroes quickly took to surrounding him to prevent further chaos.

"I will not have you interfere with my plans!" Kang shouted as he pulled out several strange-looking grenades from his belt.

"What the..." Vixen started to say.

"Time Spheres! Don't get caught in their blast radius! You'll be whisked away to another time!" Iron Man shouted.

"Are you serious?" Black Canary shouted.

"Unfortunately, he is!" Captain America shouted. "Those things are like miniature black holes!"

Kang hurled the time spheres across the station towards the heroes.

The first one landed next to one of stations windows, blasting a hole in space and time, and creating a large hole in the Watchtower itself.

The air immediately began getting sucked out of the station, pulling the heroes along with the air.

"Look Out!" Green Lantern shouted as he created a force bubble around the hole before anyone got sucked out.

"There's another one!" Mockingbird shouted as she leapt away with Black Canary right behind her.

"Watch It!" Green Arrow shouted as he kicked one of the devices away from himself.

However, his aim was slightly off as he knocked the Time Sphere over to a group of the heroes.

Superman, Batman, Zatanna, Iron Man, She-Hulk, Ant Man, and Falcon were caught in the blast radius of the device, and disappeared from the station.

Everyone gasped at seeing the seven heroes vanish, that they didn't notice a second Time Sphere land near another group of the heroes.

Captain America, Thor, Warbird, Steel, Power Girl, Flash and Hawkgirl were suddenly teleported away by the third Time Sphere.

The other heroes just stared and gasped at what happened.

Black Canary stared incredulously at Green Arrow.

"Oops." The archer gasped sheepishly.

Kang suddenly succeeded in opening his desired portal. Spider-Man and the others gasped as seeing him slip away.

"KANG!" Spider-Man shouted and raced after him.

Wonder Woman, Vixen, Vigilante, Scarlet Witch, and Colossus raced after the webslinger as he jumped into the portal after the warlord.

The portal closed behind them, leaving the rest of the heroes stunned and confused.

"What happened?" Dark Spider asked as he and Spider-Girl arrived on the scene of the fight.

A couple of the Amazons, along with Supergirl and Batgirl arrived as well.

"Where did these animals come from?" Mala the amazon asked as one of the leopards tried to jump at her.

"I don't know. But I think we're gonna have some explaining to do. I just don't know where to start." Green Lantern said.

"We'll figure it out as soon as we cage the rest of these animals!" Hulk shouted as he finally wrestled down the mammoth while careful not to destroy the space station.

Authors Notes:

This is just something I did for fun, and to help my writers block. Again.

I was bored one day while writing my other stories, and this idea just popped into my head. I liked the idea so much I had to write it up.

The basic idea of a Spider-Man/Wonder Woman interaction, yet still trying to keep them in-character enough that they would never get together. The idea itself could lead itself to a potential relationship but I'm not getting into that right now.

Thanks to wereknight for his suggestion for a team: "Yeah a mix team up like Iron Man, Hawkgirl, Flash, Captain Marvel aka Warbird, Power Girl and Captain America"

Thanks to StraightedgeWingZero: "Yeah a few, The Flash for starters and on the marvel side Ant man, or possibly The Hulk. Supergirl ,or Zatanna or maybe even Green Lantern and Dr. Fate. Also Falcon, Thor and Hawkeye. If that helps."

Thanks to UchihaBloodline30: "Yeah, I think you should send Green Lantern, Superman, Batman, Iron Man, War Machine and Thor? Superwoman, Cat Woman, Black Cat, Hawkgirl? (Not sure) Black Widow.

Great suggestions guys. Hope you liked the line-ups I set up here in. I tried to make it as balanced as I could.

(After the Spider-Man/Artemis fight)

"My mother once said, that you never truly know someone until you fight them." Diana said.

"That sounds familiar." Dark Spider said.

"The Matrix Reloaded." Spider-Man said.

"Seraph." Scarlet Spider said.

"Yup." Kid Arachnid said.

"What are you talking about?" Diana asked.

"It's a movie." Spider-Man said.

"What's a movie?" Diana asked.

"Oh, Jeez!" Spider-Man groaned at her ignorance.

"What do you mean I'm married to Mala?!" Dark Spider gasped when he heard it.

"When you engage an amazon in battle, you are initiating a mating ritual. If you defeat them in fair combat, you are married to them, under amazon law." Diana said as the blond amazon smiled at the ebon arachnid.

"I thought you were Greek amazons, not Chinese amazons." Dark Spider said.

"Or Klingons." Scarlet Spider said.

"What are Klingons?" Mala asked.

"So you're married to this blond amazon? Man, you are so lucky!" Flash laughed.

"Not what I would call an ideal relationship." Dark Spider said.

"What do you mean?" the speedster asked.

"If, as an amazon, she desires battle all the time, every day is going to be a constant struggle, with no peace whatsoever." Dark Spider said.

"Amazons do not always think of battle. They must simply be prepared for it." Mala said.

"Oh, yeah. This marriage is going to be fun." Dark Spider groaned.
