Haruno Rin had never felt this much fear before. The Kyuubi no Kitsune was standing in her living room. He looked at her with somber eyes.
"Haruno Rin. I believe that I owe you an explanation for why I had attacked Konoha all those years ago."
Rin nodded dumbly, unsure of what the beast was going to say next.
"There was a man named Uchiha Madara who possessed a Sharingan so powerful that he could control my actions. He also contained a large amount of hatred for Konoha. So, one day he took control and forced me to attack Konoha. Many people died that day, and one of these people was your husband. Words cannot express how sorry I am. Please, you can continue to hate me, but Kit over here is not me. Don't take your hatred of me out on him."
Rin's eyes hardened. "I don't care. You and that Namikaze bastard are the same thing… a monster. Get the hell out of my house. If I ever see you here again, I will kill you. Sakura, if you keep associating yourself with that monster, I will disown you."
Sakura couldn't believe what she was hearing. 'How could she ask me to do this? Naruto-sensei is my friend! If that's the case then..' "I see Mother. I will send someone to collect my things. If you can't accept Naruto-sensei, then I don't want to live here. Goodbye, Mother." Tears streamed down Sakura's cheeks. Naruto placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. Kurama growled menacingly at Rin.
"You are incredibly foolish, woman. I hope you realize your mistake before it is too late. The life of a shinobi is short." Having said his piece, Kurama dispelled. Sakura was now sobbing openly. Naruto wrapped his arms around her, silently comforting the girl.
Rin sent a grim smile towards that action. "How fitting, a monster loving another monster."
Naruto's head snapped up, his eyes a blood red. The killer intent that came from him made the air incredibly thick. "We will be leaving now. If you ever say that about Sakura-chan again, I will show you a true monster." Naruto sent one last scathing glare at the elder Haruno, and shunshine'd the pair of them out of the house.
The pair appeared in front of the Namikaze House.
"Naruto-sensei, what am I going to do? I have no house and I don't make enough money to pay for an apartment!"
"You will stay here until we can figure it whatever is going on," said Kushina, as she appeared from the house. "Speaking of which, what exactly is going on?"
Naruto told her what had just happened at the Haruno home.
"That is absolutely awful! Come here, dear!" Kushina engulfed Sakura in a hug. The younger kunoichi wept openly on the Namikaze's shoulder. "You can stay here as long as you want! I will talk to Minato about getting you an apartment, sweetie. We will take care of everything!"
Kushina then rounded on Naruto. "Naruto I want you to go get your father, have him send an ANBU to Sakura-chan's house and collect her things."
"Understood, Kaa-san." Naruto disappeared in a flash of light. A million thoughts flashed in Naruto's mind. 'Why would she do this for me? She could've gotten a new sensei, I would've understood. What does this mean for us?'
"NARUTO!" screamed Minato. "I've been trying to get our attention for the past five minutes! What do you want?"
Naruto shook his head, clearing himself of these thoughts. He then proceeded to tell his father everything that had transpired earlier in the day. He explained the need for an ANBU and his father nodded. He raised his hand and an ANBU with purple hair appeared in front of him on one knee. "I'm assuming you heard that?" The ANBU nodded her head. "I understand Hokage-sama. I will take care of it." She disappeared in a swirl of leaves.
"Why do I get the feeling that this is going to give me a headache? Why son? Why would you summon Kurama? The council is going to beat my ear about this, especially Danzo."
Naruto averted his eyes. "I did what I thought was right. Haruno needed to hear it for herself from Kurama. She would've assumed that I was lying if I had told her. I don't think she really believed Kurama either."
Minato sighed. "I long for the day when the villagers look past the monster that resides in you. I worry that fear will keep them from seeing the truth. You forced her fear to increase tenfold by summoning Kurama. People must be free to think what they want. It is not our place to change that, no matter how much we disagree."
Naruto nodded solemnly. "I understand, tou-san. What do we do now?"
"We just have to let this play out, son. There is nothing we can do except comfort Sakura and hope that her mother comes around. You are dismissed; return home to your mother and Sakura."
"Hai, tou-san." Naruto disappeared in a flash, leaving the Fourth alone with his thoughts and paperwork.
Naruto appeared in his room. He set his mask on the bedside table and ran his fingers through messy blond hair. 'I really fucked this up, didn't I…?' The words of his father kept playing in his head. 'People must be free to think what they will… no matter how much we disagree…' "FUCK!" Naruto slammed his fist into a wall. "Why did I have to fuck this up so bad?! I could've ruined their relationship for all I know! Fuck!"
"I doubt your mom would want you to swear so loudly in the house, Naruto-sensei."
Naruto slowly turned his head to look at the pink-haired genin. Sorrow filled his voice. "Sakura-chan, I am…"
"Stop, sensei. I heard it all. I don't blame you it all. It was my decision and mine alone."
"If my idiot of a mother cannot accept that you are a good person and not the monster that the village sees you as, then that is her fault! I don't really care."
"But she is your mother…"
"Not if she can't accept you."
Naruto's eyes grew wide. He couldn't believe what he heard. 'Not if she can't accept me?' This girl is just full of surprises…' Naruto rushed up to Sakura and engulfed her in a hug. "Thank you, Sakura-chan. That means a lot to me."
Naruto's face grew red as Sakura kissed his cheek. "Your welcome, sensei. Now let's go downstairs and see what Kushina-sama made for dinner."
Naruto nodded as he followed the pink-haired kunoichi downstairs.
"Where is Kengo, Hisaku? Genji?" asked a cloaked figure.
"I-I don't know, Hiten-sama. He just disappeared, claiming that the time was right to kill."
"Idiots! Why didn't you stop him?!"
"We tried, Master but he is too strong!"
"Find him… now!"
"Yes, Hiten-sama!" The two shinobi left the room, looking for their estranged teammate.
Bloodlust filled the air. A strangled cry escaped a child's lips. "Please, mister, stop. Why are you doing this?"
"Shut up! I am doing this because I can! It makes me feel alive!"
"Oh? Does it, Miyazaki Kengo? What do you think you are doing to this poor child?"
"Who the fuck are you?"
"Hm, well fox I intend to kill you and then kill this girl!"
Naruto smirked at this. He raised his palm and formed a rasengan. "Is that so? Well, we cant have that…" Naruto charged Kengo and went to strike him, but he was stopped when a sword impaled the ground in front of him. A oung bo stood on the hilt, with an unconscious Kengo on his back.
"Genji Takahashi, make sure your teammate does not attack Konoha again. I will make sure to kill him next time."
Genji nodded and disappeared into the night.
'This kid will be an issue in the future, I can tell…'
