Epilogue. From Rae's POV

"Kori, you'll be fine!" Karen exclaimed as she finished applying her alien friend's makeup. Kori had a pained expression on her pretty face, her short eyebrows knitting in worry.

"It is normal to be nervous, correct?" She said in a tiny voice, her eyes glancing between Raven and Karen.

"Of course, hun! You're getting married, it's exciting! But you have nothing to worry about. Dick loves you, and you love him," She said, and then she muttered, "Which is damn amazing but somebody has to I suppose." Raven tried to contain her chuckle and Karen smiled and shrugged her shoulders as if to say 'kidding! ... kinda' "

"Star, cold feet are normal. But everything's going to be fine." Raven reassured, rubbing her friends back comfortingly.

"Why would my feet have a lower temperature than the rest of my body?" The Tamaranian asked, confused. Raven sighed with a smile on her face. She should know better than to try to use idioms at this point. Karen giggled at her friends.

"It just means it's ok to second guess yourself. It's normal. But you don't need to be worried about anything, because everything will be fine." Raven said, and began pinning Kori's long fiery hair up with pins that had pearls secured to the tips. Kori smiled nervously.

"I feel as if my stomach is about to drop out of my body!" Kori exclaimed, wrapping her arms around her midsection. Karen laughed again, and shook her head.

"Girl, he is just as scared!" Karen tried to reassure her. Karen plopped down in the armchair in the corner and propped her feet up on the coffee table, her knee length light purple dress settling on her thighs. Her pearl earrings glinted in the light that came from the large bay window on the right. "Seriously, don't even think about it. Just think about how good you look in that dress, and how good he's gonna look in his tux. You'll be fine."

Raven walked over to the partition next to the full length mirror to get dressed. She grabbed her dress off the hanger and stepped behind the shade. She looked down at the soft violet fabric in her hands, and was struck between the similarity of the color of the dress and the color of her hair. She smirked, and pulled the dress on. It slid on like a glove, hugging her waist and flaring out at the hips. She reached down and pulled on the silver strappy heels Kori had picked out. She stepped out from behind the partition and looked in the full-length mirror.

"Damn Rae, you look good!" Karen called, giving Raven a thumbs up. Raven smiled at her friend and then looked at her reflection again. 'I guess it's not too bad' She thought to herself.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Karen hopped up and walked over, still barefoot. She opened the door to Garfield, a bright smile on his face.

"How are my favorite girls?" he asked, and then he saw Raven and stopped. He stared at her for a moment, before a big smile broke over his face and he walked over to her in 3 quick strides, wrapped his arms around her waist, and lifted her about a foot off the ground, and planted a kiss on her lips. It was chaste and sweet and, Raven felt, over way too fast. He set her back down and pushed her hair behind her ear.

"You look absolutely beautiful." He whispered to her, lost in her eyes. It took Raven a moment to respond because she was so caught up in his gaze.

"Thanks Gar, you look handsome." she replied, reaching up and smoothing his tie over his chest where it had gotten crinkled from lifting her. "How is RIchard?" She asked, looking up into his eyes again.

"Nervous as hell, but happy as can be." He said, his smile still playing on his features. He draped an arm over Raven's shoulders, turning to Kori. "And how are you doin' Star?"

"I feel like I might vomit." She said honestly, earning a laugh from the other 3 Titans.

"He feels the same, I'm sure." Gar replied. "Well, I'm gonna head back, I just wanted to make sure everything was going good." He walked over and gave Kori a kiss on her cheek, and then walked to Karen and gave her a small hug. He then walked to the door, paused to glance at Raven with a smile, and then left, closing the door behind him.

"He does look good in a suit." Karen murmured, staring at the closed door.

"Right?" Raven exclaimed, and then blushed. Karen looked at her and let out another peel of laughter.

"Girl you are redder than a tomato!"

"Or a strawberry!" Kori quipped, eager to join a conversation that didn't revolve around her for once since the day had started. "Or a cherry, or a-"

"Thanks Star, I think she gets it." Karen's easy smile made Kori feel slightly more at ease.

There was another knock on the door, and this time Raven answered it. It was Gar again, and he poked his head in.

"It's time, you guys ready?"

They all looked at Kori, who swallowed visibly, her tan skin a shade paler. She nodded and stood, her dress swishing as she did so. It was a grecian gauzy dress, with a bodice that wrapped around her body in layers, and tiny pearls sewn into the capped sleeves. Her hair was up in an elegant yet slightly unruly bun, but a few wispy ringlets had escaped and fell around her face prettily. She looked ethereal.

She was a vision in white, and Raven felt like only Kori could make something as simple as a white dress look so stunning.

The 4 of them made their way to the chapel, and the others took their places while Kori waited by the doors. Raven went to stand at her place as maid of honor, with Karen and Jinx behind her as bridesmaids. Garfield took his spot as best man, with Vic, Wally, and Roy behind him. Once everyone was in place, the music started, and Kori entered, her veil trailing behind her gracefully. There was a collective sigh from the crowd of friends and family that had gathered for the occasion as Kori took her place next to Richard.

Richard leaned forward and whispered in her ear. Raven couldn't hear what he said, but she could feel his love and joy radiating off of him.

"Let us begin. We are gathered here today to honor the love between this man, and this woman..."

Raven couldn't hear what he was saying, because Garfield had caught her gaze, and everything faded away as she looked at him. For the first time in a long time, she smiled as big as she could, and he returned it.

"I love you" she mouthed, and he nodded almost imperceptibly. If she hadn't been looking for it, she wouldn't have seen it.

"Forever." He mouthed back, and she felt her breath catch in her throat. 'god, please don't cry' she begged herself.

"You may now kiss the bride!" The minister finished, and Dick wrapped an arm around Kori, his other cupping her cheek as he softly kissed her on the forehead, then the nose, and finally on her lips.

Just then there was a cry from the line of bridesmaids, and Kori and Dick broke apart, startled. Everyone looked to see Karen clutching her large stomach and falling to her knees. Victor was by her in an instant, picking her up.

She spoke between gasps of air; "I- Think -I'm -Going -Into -Labor!" As she spoke, Garfield ran out the doors, keys in hand. Victor paled visibly.

"What? Now? You're not due for another 2 weeks?"

"Obviously- things- change-!" Karen breathed through her teeth as she gripped Vic's shoulders.

"Don't just stand there Vic! MOVE!" Raven exclaimed, grabbing the tin man by his arm and pulling him forward, Karen still in his arms. "Gar and I will get them to the hospital-"

"We will meet you there." Richard said, taking Kori's hand. Kori, Dick, Wally, Jinx, and Roy all made their way swiftly out the chapel doors behind Raven, Vic, and Karen, leaving behind a very startled and confused crowd of people.

As Raven led Vic and Karen outside Gar pulled up in front of the chapel, driving like a madman. Raven yanked the backseat door open and helped Vic get Karen inside, Vic sliding in after her. Raven took her seat up front, and then Gar stepped on the gas.

They were there in a matter of minutes, but it felt like so much longer because of Karen's cries of pain. Karen was squeezing one of Vic's hands and trying to do her lamaze breathing. It was a good thing the man was made of metal, because Karen was very, very strong.

"I'll Park, you guys get her in!" Gar said, pulling up to the hospital. Vic and Raven exited the car, helping Karen out as they did so.

They helped her inside, and were quickly ushered to a secluded room in the west wing of the hospital. Once Karen was in bed and hooked up to all the monitors, Raven and Victor both plopped down into chairs next to her bed and let out a collective sigh of relief.

...

It was 6 hours before the baby was born, and none of the Titans were able to rest the entire time. When the doctor finally came out and announced that Karen had given birth to a healthy baby girl, all of them erupted with shouts of joy (even a tiny one from Raven).

"The baby will be in the viewing room in a few minutes." The doctor said, and then turned and left. The other Titans went in to see Karen, but Raven couldn't stop herself from going straight to the viewing room. Something about new life just fascinated her. She made her way down the hall, down the elevator, and into the room. She entered, and save for a few nurses, found herself alone. She walked up to the glass and rested her head against it. She scanned the room for the cradle that held Vic and Karen's baby. She smiled at the little girl sleeping peacefully, her tiny dark hands clutching the blanket she was wrapped in. She had pinkish lips, and already some tiny curls. She had Karen's eyes and Victor's nose, and the most precious chubby cheeks. The little girl yawned, exposing gums and tongue and all. Raven tried to hold back her smile.

She didn't know how long she had been standing there when she felt Garfield wrap his arms around her waist from behind. She smiled and leaned into his embrace.

"Whatcha thinkin', Rae?" He murmured, his breath tickling her ear.

"She's perfect, isn't she?" Raven sighed, looking down at the cradle that held Spencer Stone. "All those little toes and fingers..." Gar tightened his arms around her, and she felt his smile.

"Rae, I didn't think you were into kids..."

"I'm not- I mean, not most kids.. but I mean, I'm still female. I still have... mothering instincts." She paused thoughtfully. "I still want a family." She finished in a whisper. She felt Gar's arms tense slightly, and then he turned her around to face him, his hands holding her shoulders tightly.

"You mean that?" He asked, his eyes searching her face. She was blushing, she couldn't help it. With his eyes staring at her like that, she couldn't help feeling like her stomach was turning inside out.

"I do." She whispered. He watched her face for another moment, before lowering himself to one knee. Raven sucked in a breath.

"Seriously?" She breathed, her voice cracking slightly. Garfield smiled a little, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a tiny box.

"I got this a couple weeks after we starting dating. I always knew, Rae. And I think you did too." He said, his eyes never leaving hers. "I'm sorry I can be uncontrollable, but you- you disarm me. You leave me breathless, weightless, and I love you for it. I know I'm rash, I don't think about things. But you over think everything. We balance each other out, we compliment each other." He paused, gauging her reaction. "If there's such a thing as soul mates, Rae, you're mine. Will you-"

"Yes!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms around his neck. He was knocked back by the force of her hug, and he brought his arms up around her, enveloping her. They sat on the floor like that for a minute, just holding each other. Finally, they pulled away. He opened the box, and pulled from it a ring with a white gold band, and a ruby (with a color that matched her chakra) surrounded by diamonds. She held out her hand and he took it.

"Shit, Rae, you're shaking!" He said, looking into her eyes.

"I'm sorry I'm just.. overwhelmed.." She replied, blinking back tears that threatened to spill. She hated crying, and she was not going to ruin this perfect moment. So instead, she gave him her second biggest smile of the day. He smiled back, and slid the ring onto her finger.

"I'm sorry this wasn't more romantic.. I was planning a dinner, candles, roses, you know-"

"Shut up." She said, kissing him. "This was perfect."
