Xander leaned against his truck with an honest to god smile. "I don't know what it is about this time of the week but I feel great about what's next."

Oz looked at him. "It could be the pep rally that stopped our last two classes this Friday afternoon."

Xander nodded. "That sounds right, gotta respect those cheerleaders peppiness."

Oz nodded. "Especially with the high mortality rate."

Xander looked at the werewolf he missed these conversations. Even if they never had one before technically.

Willow walked out and smiled seeing her two guys together. Buffy right behind her with a genuine smile on her face from this past week with Angel. Willow looked at her best friend. "Alright, Xander you had your fun but now I know your secret."

Xander looked at her with a smile they've been playing this all week she's 0 for 12. "Alright Will what do you have for me today?"

Willow looked at him. "He has to kill someone, He has to eat garlic, He has to sing."

Xander looked at her. "Way too easy, I'm not getting eaten by a stink breath vampire, and as tempting as it was especially with the Manilow no. That's your three for Today."

Willow stamped her foot in frustration. "It should not be this hard to figure out Angel's on switch."

Xander looked at her. "Didn't realize you were trying to turn Angel on Will..." Causing the redhead to blush even deeper then her hair.

Buffy looked at Xander as the boys face contorted. "Really?"

"As soon as I said it." Xander replied

Buffy looked at him. "So, what's on tap for your weekend?"

Xander gave a flat out shrug. "I have no idea. I know Faith and Wes are stopping down for a bit Saturday. He needs to meet a source about some sort of shroud he's not letting me or Faith near it or touching it. He's even got one of those nuclear suits from ET. Figured I'd hang out with you guys for most of it." Xander saw the off put looks from the girls and came to a quick realization. "But I'm going to be a third wheel for both of you huh?"

Buffy looked at him not sure what to say. "Makes you feel any better we're just hanging around the hospital patrolling for fresh blood bandits on Saturday."

"Little bit" Xander replied. "Well have fun this weekend."

Xander leaned back against the wall for support hitting it in the magic shop. "How can reading an aura be so tiring."

Lauren frowned in disappointment. This was Xander's first lesson in it and she's not sure how it's possible... but she's pretty sure Xander is even worse at it now then when they started. "You have no calm."

Xander looked at her. "I'm well aware of that we live on a hellmouth."

Lauren sighed. "And that's the problem. You're so concerned about your next move or defending from the next attack you have no calm."

Tara looked at him she was seven when she learned this so her only lesson was think of ponies. "Try to think happy thoughts?"

Xander looked at her.. did that really just happen? "Really?"

Tara shrugged. "Has anything else worked so far?"

Xander looked at for a moment but knowing he had no counter argument closed his eyes and focused on happy things or at least tried to.

Lauren looked at him as her face dropped. "And how are you supposed to see our auras with your eyes closed."

Tara watched as her nail file flew off the table and into wall, well someone's frustrated.

Xander opened his eyes and left the back. "Worthless power anyway."

Tara went to go after him but came to an abrupt stop when her mother grabbed her arm and shook her head.

Lauren just watched Xander leave the shop. When she restored Xander's memories she looked into the Orlon crystal's side effects. Ends up nausea isn't one of them much less throwing up. That sickness came from his own memories. She knows Wes will look out for him or he'll have to answer to her.

The next day Johnathan Levinson fell to the floor again. More pain then usual. His attacker looked down at him. "Are you sure you don't want to stop."

Johnathan nodded and pulled himself up. "I need this?"

"For what?" Xander asked as he pulled him back up for at least the tenth time.

Johnathan shook his head.

Xander looked at him and wondered. "For who? Kendra? That's the last thing she needs."

Johnathan shook his head. "No, this is for me. And for the record what does she need?" Might give him some ideas.

"People" Xander replied without even taking a moment to think. "That's the best gift you can give to a slayer, an interest in movies, an interest in art, tell her about the history of Star Wars even if she goes for it. Slayers they age fast because they are given a destiny before they can legally smoke a cigarette. All they have is their destiny they become so consumed with it they stop caring and mistakes ensue... mistakes against a demon... well I don't have to tell you what happens next do I?"

Johnathan shook his head morbidly and a bit paler. Now he understands Kendra a lot more and why Xander is pushing him to her. "No, you do not."

Xander frowned as Johnathan rushed him again and Xander easily countered and sent him right to the floor. "This isn't working."

Jonathan held his head as he got up. "Seems like you're hurting me!"

Xander shook his head. "Yeah but you're not learning anything." The two didn't even hear the door opening. "I'm just knocking you down and you can't hit me."

"He's too little."

Both Xander and Jonathan jumped at that turning to see Kendra enter the library a bit of a frown.

Xander looked at her. "Kendra, give a guy a heart attack!"

Kendra looked at him upset. "Sorry."

Xander looked at her. "Did something happen last night?"

Kendra shook her head. "No, I just broke me favorite stake on a vampire's rib cage."

Xander nodded and looked down. "I'm sorry for Mr. Pointy." Kendra looked at him confused. "Sorry Ken, it just kind of leaks out sometimes. And I appreciated anything that made you feel more then the council's weapons."

Johnathan looked at them confused. "A stake?"

Kendra nodded. "It was like me Teddy bear I tink Buffy called it." Jonathan nodded that cleared the situation right up. "Anyway, what are you two doing?"

"I'm trying to train him." Xander replied turning to Jonathan. "It's not going well."

Kendra looked at him. "Of course not you rely on your height to get the advantage on people, so he can't reach you to hit you. May I try before I start training?"

Xander nodded making room for her as he took a seat at the table. "Have at it."

An hour later Xander saw himself holding a plush toy of a black haired Ariel from the Little Mermaid in a tightly closed store. "Nothing says I like you like a knock off Disney doll."

Jonathan looked at him. He needed a ride. "I'm looking for one in particular."

Xander shook his head. What can you need from a discount...

"I got it!" Jonathan held up the one he was looking for in particular.

Xander looked at it for a moment before he chuckled. "Alright, that a good one. As long as you actually give it to her."

"I'm going to give it to her." The shy teen countered.

Xander laid down on the front of his truck Saturday night. "I'm sorry, I'm just not seeing it."

Faith also laid back on the truck turned to him. "Of course not your head's not tilted." Faith tilted his head so it rested on her shoulder.

Xander's eyes widened. "Oh wow, so they are."

"Told ya the clouds were screwing doggie style." Faith countered.

Xander nodded. "And here I was thinking we'd have nothing to do tonight after you got us thrown out of the Bronze."

"In my defense, all that sign said was they wouldn't serve me a drink anymore." Faith countered leaning closer to him.

Xander groaned hearing his phone ring. 10 at night let him guess "Hey Buffy."

"How'd you know it was me?"

Xander looked at the phone in utter confusion. "Who else would call me this late? Dawn Patrol?"

"Dawn Patrol"

Xander sighed. "Yeah, I'll be right there."

Faith shook her head in disbelief only to hear her own phone go off. "Wes, jeez already" Faith rolled her eyes listening on the phone. "Alright Grandma I'll be right there."

Faith hung up the phone. "So, can you give me a ride back to Wes."

Xander nodded. "Sure, gotta watch Dawn so Buff can patrol at the hospital anyway."

Faith nodded and got into the car. "Thanks X." She's really not sure she can handle watching the brat with all the dirty looks Dawn shot her last visit anyway.

Xander and Buffy walked to school on Monday morning after dropping Dawn off. Xander walked over to see Willow and Oz hanging out with Tara and Kendra.

Willow turned to Buffy having not seen her all weekend. "Buffy, Xander"

Xander smiled. "Hey Will. How was your weekend?"

Willow shrugged. "Fun date but not much else, how about yours?"

Xander shrugged. "Fun, can't go back to the Bronze till Friday though."

Willow shook her head. "Right Xander Harris, pure rebel."

Xander looked at her. "Hey it goes right up there with Willow Rosenberg rock groupie."

Willow let out a smile as she edged closer to Oz and shared a kiss.

Xander blanched a bit wow I guess being pissed at him and having Oz in her life gave her a lot more confidence then before.

Xander watched as Jonathan started moving towards the Scoobys wondering if he still has the bag from Friday. Xander looked at it wondering if he's going to go through with it.

Jonathan walked up to Kendra feeling a nervous wreck. "Kendra, hi?"

Kendra looked at the boy and smiled. "Hi Jonathan, how are you?"

Jonathan looked at her uneasy and went for the bag. "Good, I'm good. I-I uh got something for you. Cause of what you told me Saturday. " He went through his backpack before finding the poorly wrapped tiny black bag he was looking for.

Kendra opened it and saw a fox dressed like Robin Hood with a crossbow. Kendra smiled much greater then ever before in her life seeing it much better then a stake. "I love him."

Buffy smiled and moved down to give Jonathan a seat next to Kendra.

Oz looked at it. "Was it always a crossbow?"

Xander looked at him and smiled. "Knockoff Disney, Robin with a weapon more common for a slayer."

Oz nodded. "Huh"

Tara looked at Xander now curious. "Would you use a crossbow over a longbow?"

Xander looked at her. "Hell yeah! Archery can take years to master not to mention I can add a scope to a crossbow and turn it into a somewhat silent vampire sniper rifle... and don't I sound like a bit of a weirdo gun nut.

Willow touched his shoulder. "Yeah but a well meaning gun nut."

"Thanks Will, I feel better now." Xander replied with a bit of a smile. "So what's up for tonight."

"Crappy foreign movie." Buffy offered.

Xander looked at her. "Hey that could work."

Willow smiled. "Just not the one we watched before the giant snake, with the buffalo."

Tara nodded in agreement. "Good, I hate that one!"

Oz nodded. "Musical?"

"I like musicals" Kendra agreed.

Xander just leaned backed with a smile seeing his old friends and... new... old... newer friends hit it off as one big group.

In a dark dingy basement you can see an obliterated mess. Smashed porcelain and fluff littered the ground before showing two dead girls at the foot of a bed. On the bed a Drusilla with her in an unholy mess. Clothes covered in blood and dirt shattered dolls as Drusilla drives her talons that are her fingernails through Miss Edith's eyes using the grip to rip the dolls head off.

"It's not fair! Kitten cheated! Upended the chain! Broke everything into pieces." Drusilla pouted seeing what she's done to her friend. Drusilla smiled turning her attention to the only thing left alive in her room. A very specific bed of flowers that only bloom at night. "Yes!" She laughed. "Hurt him, like he hurt us!" Drusilla smiled falling back into be in almost child like innocence. "Break him! Make him cry! Poison the veins and watch him fall! Drusilla smiled grabbing the pillow giddy as a child. "Me and you kitten, we'll play one last round!"

Author Notes

Thanks for the reviews

If you're wondering why this chapter was so short it was longer in the outline but a lot of things have changed since I started this story. It was a cheap drama and had no long term relevance on the plot except for one part which I'm just moving to later. Reading it just made me want to get rid of it so half the chapter disappeared.

UP Ne... not doing it this time.
