The eternal struggle which reached its peak a thousand years ago progressed at a dying speed. Ilias' faith waned as monsters travelled south, pushing their presence even to the Ilias Continent itself, never to be expelled. A thousand years ago, the great genocide crusade, which both sides named differently, came to an end. Those to the south, loyal to Ilias, called it the First Crusade. To the north, it was called the Great Monster War. It was a crusade that had ended in a stalemate, though unbeknownst to all, Ilias had successfully imprisoned the Dark God Alipheese, whose existence, along with the true origin of monsters, remained hidden from the Ilian followers.
A thousand years later, just as a lone hero who gained the trust of the Monster Lord, Alice the Sixteenth, arrived to the Monster Lord's castle and rebelled against Ilias, new hostilities were sparked by Ilias' commands. However, an outright invasion was not within her plans. Instead, her ideas became others, and a new plan was formed, one that would alter the world as it was known.
Though the life of the lone hero had changed dramatically since the beginning of his journey, abrupt changes were not exclusive to him. Just as Ilias launched her plan, another person in the great capital city of San Ilia would be sucked into the chaos she would create.
