Alright you crazy cats! It's been ages, but as I said in Something Suddenly Has Begun, I've been madly busy and am a little shaky on my Fan-fiction legs, but do want to start writing again very badly. And here I've managed two updates in one day! So I hope you all enjoy this update! People seem to want me to update this one the most, so here you go! I actually think I'm almost done with this book, just about four or five more chapters to go! So I hope you all enjoy the last few chapters, and let me know what you all think!

Chapter Eleven:

"Are you sure he's up to this? I don't want to make him any worse, you know," Jean Prouvaire whispered two days later as he stood outside Julien's room in the inn, looking in worry at Combeferre. "If he's been getting better I don't want an unexpected visitor to prove a set back."

Etienne smiled fondly at the little poet and pressed his hand softly. "I'm sure, Jehan. He's been asking to see members of the Amis for days now. And you are the most comforting of any of us. He will be so happy to see you. I promise."

Jehan blushed happily and smiled, nodding a little. "Well alright. Anything to make Julien feel better."

"I'll be right downstairs with Courfeyrac. He's far too exhausted. Bahroel is coming over to take him home. If you need anything, come down and let me know."

"I will," Jean pressed his friend's hand reassuringly before Ferre smiled at him tiredly and hurried down the stairs to be with Courfeyrac as they waited.

The poet turned to the door, softly opening it and stepping inside. Julien lay dozing on the bed, skin pale and eyes red rimmed, breathing a little too shallow, hair clinging to his forehead with the fever's sweat. Jehan bit his lip hard and took a deep breath, stepping over to sit in the chair by the bedside, gently reaching out a hand and taking Enjolras's, rubbing small circles into the skin with his thumb. At the touch, hazy blue eyes cracked open and looked up into Jehan's wide eyes of teal, and both boys smiled a little upon seeing each other for the first time in weeks.

"Hello, Julien," Jehan breathed lightly, reaching out to move a curl out of blue eyes.

"Hello, mon ami," Enjolras smiled tiredly, pressing his hand with the little strength he had. "I've missed you."

"I've missed you too," Jehan gently stroked golden curls, smiling faintly at his friend. "I'm here now. How are you?"

Julien coughed weakly but managed a little smile, though it was a throughly exhausted one. "I'm... I'm afraid I'm not doing very well."

Jehan nodded and gently kissed his forehead, frowning at the heat he felt there. "That makes sense. You are sick, and sick people usually don't feel well." He gingerly pulled a blanket up over Julien's trembling form, tucking him in gently and taking his hand again, kissing it softly before laying it back down.

Enjolras coughed harshly before looking back up at his friend. "I'm afraid I'm not very good company right now."

"Hush. You are wonderful company. And besides, silence isn't so bad. It gives us time to think," Jehan smiled softly as he leaned in closer to Julien so his friend wouldn't have to talk louder than he should. "I am very glad I came to see you, you know. When Ferre wrote to say where you were, we all got so worried. We've all been so worried, Sunshine. We practically had to tie Grantaire down for him not to come and try to see you."

The blond frowned a little. "Why was he not allowed to come?"

"We were worried he would overexcite you."

Enjolras turned a little red and looked away, coughing into the crook of his arm. "Oh. Right. I'm... I'm sorry I'm so weak."

Jehan shook his head and kissed the blond swiftly on the forehead. "Sunshine, you are not weak. You are sick. It makes your body weak, but that doesn't mean you are weak. Your body is just what holds your spirit, and it can get sick or hurt, but that doesn't mean you aren't still the same person."

The sick boy in the bed furrowed his brows a little, biting his lip, confused at Jehan's ethereal words. "I... I don't understand."

The poet smiled softly and brought the blankets up even further on his chest. "Because everyone gets sick, but then we get better, and we are the same person we were before. Have you changed any of your beliefs or opinions since you got sick?"

Julien instantly shook his head, not even having to think about the answer. "Of course not."

"Then you are not weak, mon fleur."

Enjolras looked up at this, furrowing his brows a little. "Why do you call me that?"

Jehan smiled down at his friend, kissing his hand. "Because you remind me of a flower. Flowers bring beauty and happiness in the world, and that is what you are striving to do. Flowers also thrive in the most unexpected places, and even though they look fragile, they are resilient."

The blond blinked up at Jean through hazy, fevered eyes, though a smile did play at his lips. "T-thank you. I think."

"You're most welcome, Sunshine. Now you look sleepy. I'll be right here, but how about you close your eyes for a moment, alright?" Jehan softly ran a hand through golden curls, smiling fondly down at his friend.

Julien just nodded a little, seemingly too tired to argue, closing heavy lidded eyes and falling fast asleep moments later.

It wasn't fifteen minutes later that little Julien started tossing slightly in the bed, worried and pained mumbles escaping his lips. Jehan, who had been dozing lightly himself against the headboard, woke quickly and looked down at his friend, swiftly taking the fevered hand in his and rubbing small circles into the skin with his thumb. "It's only a dream, mon fleur. You're safe. I'm here. You're safe."

Enjolras turned his head a little on the pillows in his sleep, mumbling brokenly, "F-Ferre I'm sorry... I'm sorry I'm such a burden."

Jehan frowned deeply and quickly ran a hand through golden curls. "Oh no, I won't have you saying horrible things like that, Sunshine. Come on, Julien wake up." Enjolras whimpered a little, coming closer to consciousness, but he was still visibly scared and half-asleep. The poet continued to stroke his hair gently, whispering. "Come on, Julien, you can do it. Just wake up and the dream will be over. You're almost there, Sunshine. Just open your eyes and it will be over." Blue eyes blinked heavily open then closed again, and Jehan had to grin. "That's it! Now you just have to keep them open longer. Come on, you can do it. One more time." Weakly, Enjolras slid his eyes open again, his gaze unfocused on the now beaming Jehan. "See? I knew you could do it!"

The blond coughed harshly, frowning a little. "Did... Did I fall asleep again? That's all I seem to do anymore..."

"You did," Jehan nodded simply, "But it's good You're making up for what you didn't do earlier."

At this, a tired smile crossed Julien's face and he had to chuckle weakly. "I guess that's true."

Jehan kissed his nose swiftly, then smiled at him lovingly. "You have a beautiful smile. You should use it more often. There's nothing wrong with the rarity of your smiles, though. Some people are simply more serious than others, and while I would like it if you smiled more, the rarity of them makes them even more beautiful."

Julien could only smile at this, amazed as always at the eloquence in Jehan's speech, managing a tired little "Thank you, Jehan."

"You're most welcome, Sunshine."

And there's the end of that chapter! I'm so excited, because now I get to get to work on the next update of The End! I hope this chapter lived up to everyone's expectations!
