Chapter 9: That Summer Part 3
Nick stood there, watching the door that Jeff had walked out of 10 minutes ago. Hoping to see the blonde boy walk through the door and into his arms.
"We should probably go back upstairs before they start worrying again." Thad said, his voice getting closer.
Nick nodded, looking at the door one last time, before turning around and heading upstairs.
"Jeff, are you okay?" Tessa asked. Jeff shrugged and got out of the car.
"Thanks for dropping off… I need some time alone." He said, giving her a weak smile and a small wave before heading inside.
As soon as he closed the door, he ran upstairs to his bedroom, sliding down the nearest wall, holding a cushion to his chest, and slowly turned his head to look at the empty room.
Suddenly his phone started vibrating, breaking the silence. Jeff sighed and looked at the screen.
"Thad?" he whispered to himself, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion, before pressing the answer button.
"Sorry." Thad whispered, before hanging up. Jeff looked down at his phone and sighed, wiping his eyes to make sure that the unshed tears wouldn't fall.
"Thaddeus, come and join us…stop being such a buzz kill." Sebastian shouted, from his position on the bed.
Thad glared at him for a moment before returning back to his book.
"What's up with him?" Blaine asked Nick, who had also been uncharacteristically quiet.
Nick shrugged, and pulled out his phone.
Sebastian looked between Nick and Thad several times before rolling his eyes and breaking the silence. "It must be that time of the month." Sebastian said jokingly.
"Yeah…must be..." Blaine replied quietly with a frown, still staring at Nick.
A/N: Thanks for being so patient, more chapters coming soon.
