I'M ALIVE! I'm not going to delay your reading so see A/N at the bottom for explanation or whatever.
Steph owns all dis. Except for the plot.
Edward drops me off at my dorm with a kiss and a promise to call me later. It feels like the most anticlimactic end to the one of the most intense weekends of my life. But then when I look up at the looming presence of the freshman towers I realize it isn't over yet. I still haven't talked to Alice.
I find myself loitering outside of the dorm next to the gliders, unwilling to face whatever is going down in my dorm room at the moment. I settle myself down onto one of the unoccupied benches and take out my phone to entertain myself while I procrastinate.
As I scroll through my Facebook newsfeed I become more and more worked up about the situation. Not only are there pictures up on Rose's wall with Jasper tagged in them from the weekend, but Alice and Jasper are now listed as being in an "open relationship" on Facebook.
The sound of boisterous laughter and the smell of hookah permeate the air as I hurriedly lock my phone and push myself up and out of the glider. With a determined set to my shoulders, I storm across the bridge that connects the two towers and swipe into Stanford prepared to confront Alice.
The elevator ride seems to take forever. I bounce my leg as I watch the numbers tick by slowly. When I finally reach my floor, I stumble out into the hallway and march towards my door.
As I get closer and closer, every step I take becomes less and less confident. When I finally reach my door, my hand is shaking as I bring my keys up to the lock. Before I can even move to open the door, it swings open.
Standing before me is a shirtless, laughing Jasper. The smile that is spread across his face immediately falls as he takes me in. I squirm under his gaze, realizing how ratchet I must look right now. Skin flushed and still damp with sweat, hair thrown up into a crazy topknot, clothes slightly discombobulated…
I look freshly fucked.
But as I take him in… The wispy tangle of his white blond hair, the blotchy bruises that decorate his neck, the red scratch marks trailing down his sides, the low hang to his gym shorts… I realize that he's in worse condition than I am.
This realization pisses me the fuck off.
"Jazzy, what is it?" Alice calls from behind him. The sound of her voice sets me off.
"What the fuck, Alice!" I cry, ducking under Jasper's arm to confront her. "What the fuck is this?"
I'm in her face immediately. Nose to nose. I can smell sex on her. The entire room is drenched with the scent.
"Calm down, Bella." Jasper says, his fingers curling around my forearm protectively. I resist the tug he gives it.
"Back off Jasper." I murmur from between clenched teeth. "Let Alice explain herself." I roughly shake his hand off of me and cross my arms across my chest.
"Bella… Just calm down." Jasper sighs, "I can explain. Let me explain."
"I am calm." I grit out, taking a step back. "You wanted to talk, let's talk." I sass, raising my eyebrow at the eerily silent Alice.
"Come on, Bella. Let her get dressed first." Jasper pleads from behind me, trying—once again—to pull me away from her. My eyes rake over her, taking in the big Coral Shores High School t-shirt that dwarfs her frame.
"Jasper. Leave." I demand. Picking up the duffle that I faintly recognize as his that is crumpled up on the floor, and pushing it into his naked chest.
Our eyes meet, miserable blue against furious brown. He blinks down at me, trying to comprehend what is going on in my head. I stare back at him unwaveringly. We stand there for a second, just staring, until he drops his head and backs away. I watch as he unzips his bag and pulls out a t-shirt before slipping on his flip-flops and moving towards the door.
"I'll call you later…" He murmurs, not addressing anyone in particular. I narrow my eyes at him as he leaves. The door clicks shut behind him.
The room is quiet as Alice moves to sit on her bed. Her face gives away no hint of emotion.
"Care to explain what that was?" I ask, dropping my bag to the floor with a loud plop.
Alice drops her head into her hands and rakes her fingers through her hair before looking up at me. Her mouth is set into a grim line and her eyes are watery. "I didn't mean for this to happen. I'm so sorry." She murmurs, her voice thick with emotion.
"Yeah, well it happened." I snap, blinking down at her haughtily. "And the worst part is that you tried to hide it from me. If you would have came to me and explained what was going on after it went down I wouldn't be half as angry as I am now."
"I'm sorry!" She laments, looking up at me through red-rimmed eyes. "I just thought you'd feel disrespected! He's your ex! I didn't mean for it to happen, but when I—"
"Oh, bullshit! You know how I feel about Jasper. You know I love him like a brother. I don't fucking get it! And open relationship on Facebook, Alice? Are you fucking kidding me?" I hiss out, slapping my hands down on my thighs. "Jasper deserves so much better than that."
Alice is full on sobbing into her hands by the time I'm done with my rant. I roll my eyes at her and move to start unpacking.
"He did it." She sobs out, "He's the one who came onto me. He's the one who told me not to tell you. He's the one who did the Facebook relationship status after he found out that you knew about us."
I drop my bag onto my bed and shove my hands through my hair. "I don't get it." I mutter, rubbing the heels of my palms into my eyes.
"Believe me, I don't either." Alice hiccups. "I thought he liked me… but when you walked into the room just now… He never looked at me like that all weekend. It was like you were the only person in the room."
"Bullshit." I mumble, "That's total bullshit. He's not the kind of guy to sleep with someone without having feelings for them."
"Well that doesn't explain why I feel used right now." Alice murmurs, blowing her nose into a tissue. "The sad part is that I actually fell for it."
"He wasn't using you." I say, trying to put an ounce of confidence into my voice but failing. "He would never do that. And if he did, why would he? There's no reason to!"
"Yes there is." Alice sighs, sitting up in bed and wiping the tears from her cheeks. "To get to you. He's obviously not over you."
"That's not true. Jasper knows there is no chance of ever getting back together again." I say, rubbing at my temples.
"How do you know that? Maybe he thinks there is." She sighs, pulling the collar of the shirt she is wearing away from her skin with a frown.
"Well, he should know that there is no way now that this has happened." I mumble, turning back around to start throwing dirty clothes into my hamper.
"So do you forgive me?" She asks in a meek voice from behind me. "I really am sorry."
I peer at her over my shoulder, scanning her slowly. I let her squirm for a minute before shrugging. "I'm not going to say that I forgive you… but I'm not angry with you anymore."
"Okay…" Alice sighs, "I can deal with that."

Can we talk?
I stare down at my phone as I cradle it in my hands. I've been staring at Jasper's text for the past 5 minutes trying to figure out what I should say.
The sharp knock on the door makes me look up. I glance over at where Alice is passed out in her bed and move to get up. With my hand wrapped around the door handle, I lean up onto my tiptoes to look through the peephole and take a step back when I see that it's Jasper on the other side.
I should have known.
I push my hair behind my ear and open the door up. He immediately moves to come in, but I lay my hand flat on his chest and push him back. Leaning back into my room, I quickly grab up my keys and canecard before motioning for him to follow me down the hall.
We're silent as we take the elevator down to the bottom floor. He's standing with his arms crossed over his chest and his lips pursed.
He follows me out of the elevator and outside. I glance around quickly before leading him out to sit on the Intermural fields. He trails behind me quietly; his hands stuffed into his shorts pockets.
"Okay." I say, as we settle down onto the grass.
"Okay." He repeats, giving me a soft half-smile.
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" I ask, plucking a blade of grass from the ground.
I glance up at him when he doesn't answer immediately. His face is turned up towards the sky and his eyebrows are pulled together in thought.
"Because I knew I couldn't handle seeing you again." He murmurs, scrunching his lips to the side as he turns his head to glance at me. "Rose told me that you were busy this weekend. I wanted to visit… but I only wanted to come down when there was no chance of seeing you."
"I don't get it." I murmur, rolling the blade of grass between my fingers.
"I'm not over you, Bella." He admits. "And I know you've moved on already. I didn't want to witness something that would hurt me more than I already am…"
His admission makes my heart hurt. Alice is right… so far.
"Are you holding out for me? Is that what this is?" I ask, sucking my bottom lip into my mouth. The action immediately makes me think of Edward. The corners of my lips curl up involuntarily at the thought.
"No… yes… I don't know." Jasper says, thumping his hands against the ground exasperatedly. "I just miss you… I miss being with you."
"Jasper…" I sigh, tugging my fingers through my hair. "I…" I trail off, not exactly sure of how I should proceed.
"I know already. I know, okay? You've moved on. Rose told me about Halloween…. About that older guy." I smash my eyes shut and cup my face in my hands.
"I'm sorry." I murmur, not sure why I'm even apologizing.
"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done what I did. I feel horrible about it." He murmurs, dropping his head down onto his knees.
"Alice is a nice girl." I mumble from between my fingers, "She likes you."
"I know." He sighs.
"Did you use her to get to me?" I ask, dropping my hands and tilting my head to look at him. He has his eyes scrunched shut and his nose wrinkled. I already know the answer before he even says it.
"Jasper…." I sigh, shaking my head in disbelief. "She's a nice girl!"
His lips turn down even more at my words. "I know."
"You shouldn't have done that." He nods along with me, like a berated little kid. "It didn't do you any good. If anything it made things worse for you."
His shoulders hunch forward as he wraps his arms around his knees. "I'm sorry…" He sighs.
"You shouldn't be apologizing to me." I murmur, moving to get up. "The girl you really hurt is upstairs." I say, motioning to the towers. He frowns at me and rubs his knuckles down his calf thoughtfully.
I give him one parting glance before turning to leave him behind, sitting on the grass to stew in what I said to him.

That night, Jasper leaves without saying a word to Alice—much to her dismay. I use the down time I have to procrastinate catching up on homework by stalking Edward's Facebook. There's no activity on there, I just like lurking all of his pictures.
Alice and I are acting cordial with one another, we're talking but there's no real substance to our conversations. Rose hasn't even bothered trying to contact me—not that she was one to do that in the first place.
Edward hasn't called me, not that I was expecting him to right away. I know he promised to, but I don't expect him to be all up in my business all the time. I mean we just started doing this—whatever this is.
"That's like the tenth time you've looked at that picture, Bella." Alice murmurs from her side of the room. "If you want to talk to him, why don't you just text him already?"
"He said he'd call." I sigh as I navigate away from his Facebook profile and to my newsfeed.
"So? If you wanna talk, text him." She says, "Why do you have to wait for a guy to talk to you? The phone works both ways."
"Then why don't you call Jasper?" I snap back, immediately feeling guilty about projecting my problems onto her.
"Jasper and I are a totally different situation." She sighs, "You're just nervous about making the first move. I can't call Jasper because I know that he doesn't want to talk to me." I bite my lip and stroke my fingers along the side of my laptop, feeling guilty over not telling her about the conversation I had with Jasper that confirmed all of her theories.
"I know, you're right. I'll just text him." I sigh, deciding to avoid the Jasper and Alice situation for now. It's too fresh to hash it out with Alice right now.
"Good, because you're driving me crazy with all that clicking." Alice grumbles, rolling over in bed to face the wall.
"Not my fault the man looks damn good in all of his pictures." I quip, reaching for my phone.
"Use the mobile app if you're going to stalk just one person. It's easier to zoom in that way." She murmurs, snuggling into her covers.
"Yeah, but the screen is bigger on my laptop." I reply, tossing my phone from hand to hand.
"True, but you can save the picture on your phone and use it as a wallpaper… then again you can do that on your laptop as well." She says with a laugh as she flips onto her back and tosses me the first genuine smile I've seen on her make since Jasper left.
"That's a whole other level of creepy I have yet to get to, Alice." I say with a shake of my head, although it is tempting.
Hey. I tap out and immediately erase. It's such a boring thing to send to someone. Plus hey is such a weird word. Who even thought of saying "hey" as a greeting? It just makes me think of livestock.
Hello is too formal… 'Sup just makes me think of Channing Tatum in Step Up doing a head nod. Hi is so timid.
"It's just a text. Stop overthinking it." Alice says from across the room, breaking me from my chaotic thoughts.
I look up at her and widen my eyes before glancing back at my phone. Might as well just send something to get a conversation started.
I feel like the smiley face makes it less timid.
My stomach drops when I see the little bubble with the "…" inside appear on the bottom of the screen to signify that he's typing.
Hey, sorry I didn't call. The boys have kept me busy.
Edward uses hey and somehow it doesn't remind me of livestock.
No, it's okay! You didn't have to.
I send the text and then immediately regret it because it's so bland. What is he going to respond with? In a moment of panic I send him the standard "What are you doing?" text to keep the conversation going.
I know I didn't… but I was looking forward to talking to you. I'm actually laying in bed responding to emails. Very boring. What about you?
I smirk at his completely written out text and contemplate my response. I definitely need to touch on wanting to talk to him / see him sometime soon. I also probably shouldn't mention how I was stalking his Facebook just a bit ago.
I wanted to talk to you too… I miss you already. And I'm in bed too.
What are you wearing?
I smirk at his response and glance down at my sweats and tank top and decide to spice it up a bit.
Ummm… a big t-shirt and panties.
I wish I could see that…
My lips curl up into a cheeky smile as I start tapping out my response when another text comes in from him.
Hint, hint (;
I frown at my phone, trying to figure out what the hell he means by that when it finally dawns on me. The pictures his son unearthed on my passcode locked folder years ago. He wants one.
You remember those, then?
Baby, I could never forget them.
My stomach jolts at him calling me baby. I really like that.
Hint, hint (;
He would send that again. I roll my eyes and move to get up and out of bed.
"What are you doing?" Alice asks, peering up at me from her laptop.
"Taking a slutty selfie for Edward." I murmur, shrugging like it's no big deal.
"Ooo-kay." Alice laughs. "I thought most girls get over that phase in high school?"
"I thought so too, but Edward asked for one so why not?" I say with a shrug, moving to pull my sweats off.
"You should just send him a topless pic. You have amazing tits." Alice says, sitting up in bed.
"I don't know. That just seems like a little much." I murmur, shuffling my feet nervously. "Plus I've tried that before and I could never get the angle right. It takes like 30 takes to get a semi decent picture."
"I'll take it. And just cover your boobs with your hands. It'll be like a little tease to get him going. He'll love it." Alice says excitedly, jumping up from her bed.
"Okay…" I agree with a laugh, "If you insist."

5 minutes later I have a picture that would send my father into cardiac arrest if he saw it. I send it to Edward with a winky face as the message that accompanies it.
It takes a whole two minutes for him to respond, and when he does it's an emoji with its mouth open followed by like 10 of the ones with the hearts in their eyes.
Did you like?
Like? I LOVED. When can I see you again?
"Well?" Alice asks from her perch across the room.
"He wants to see me again." I laugh, trying to fight the huge smile that's threatening to spread across my face.
"Told you it would work."

Edward and I agree on seeing each other over the weekend. He's busy with work all week, but he had planned on dropping the boys off at Victoria's place to get some time off the whole dad thing and he wants to include me in his plans.
During the week, school takes over my attention. I have two tests on Wednesday to study for and a test on Thursday to take my mind off the nervousness I'm feeling over hanging out with him again.
I saw this and I thought of you, I type out and send to him on Friday morning, along with a picture of a dog named Tuna who has an adorable overbite.
Very funny. I definitely don't look like that.
Sometimes, when you suck on your bottom lip.
I frown at his response and stare at my phone for a minute, trying to figure out what to say.
Are we still on for tonight? I ask, deciding to just come right out with it.
Yes? Unless you don't want to come over.
No! I still do.
Good (: I've been looking at that picture you sent me all week. I can't wait to see you.
When are you coming to get me?
Whenever you want. Now?
My stomach jolts at that thought and I immediately scurry out of bed to start getting ready.
Gimme like… an hour or so.
Okay. Bring a bathing suit.
Oh yeah, I like the sound of that.
And an overnight bag.
I most definitely like the sound of that.

"Where we headed?" I ask Edward as I settle down into my seat.
"Back to my place for a little to get something and then to the beach, if that's okay?" He says, glancing at me from his peripheral vision with his bottom lip sucked into his mouth.
"Sounds good to me, Tuna." I murmur playfully, swiping my thumb over the taut skin of his chin.
He rolls his eyes and immediately releases his lip. "I don't look like that dog, Bella."
"Oh, come on. You have to admit he's cute."
"Yeah, he's cute." He murmurs, his eyebrows scrunched together in concentration. "But is that all you think of me as? Cute?"
"Now you're fishing for compliments." I laugh, knocking his shoulder with my fist.

"So what are we getting?" I ask, following Edward into his place. "Shouldn't you have just brought it with you when you came to get me? It would have saved us the trip back here."
"Yeah, okay." He murmurs, suddenly stooping to toss me over his shoulder.
"What the hell?" I shriek, coming face to face with his ass. "Ow!" I laugh as he spanks me on mine. "What was that for?"
"Don't curse." He grumbles, "It's rude."
"Yeah, well picking people up like a caveman is rude!" I exclaim, watching as we pass over the threshold of his room from upside down. Taking advantage of the opportunity, I lean in and bite his ass.
"Ow!" He exclaims, tossing me onto his bed. "Now that was rude!"
"Oh yeah?" I sass, "What are you going to do about it?" A dark look passes over his features as he crawls over to me on the bed.
"A lot of things." He murmurs, looking feral as his dips his head to take my bottom lip between his teeth.
"I thought we were going to the beach?" I moan out as his hands slide up my bare thighs.
"We are." He states, "After I fuck you senseless."

"Must we stop in every tourist-y shop?" Edward says from behind me impatiently. I glance at him over my shoulder and smirk at the way he's standing—with one hand on his hip and the other daintily holding our pink beach bag.
He looks so sassy.
"Yes. I want get my dad a shot glass." I say, turning back to the display shelf in front of me.
"Charlie doesn't take shots." Edward laughs, "Are you buying him it as a gag gift?"
"We must be talking about two different people, then. Dad knocks back whisky like nobody's business." I murmur as I inspect the design on one of the glasses in the display.
"Well, I'd like to see that," he murmurs as he ghosts his hands along my biceps. "We'll have to get him to take some with us," he says as he ducks his head to drop a kiss on my cheek. "I'm going to go to the bathroom."
"'Kay." I say distractedly as I continue to pursue the shelf.
After a short amount of time, a voice behind me pulls me out of my browsing.
"Excuse me, Miss," the voice says. I set the glass I'm holding down and turn to address the person.
"Yes?" I say, peering up at the youthful employee standing in front of me.
"I was just wondering if you needed help finding anything?" He says, boldly letting his eyes glide up and down my form freely.
"Um, nope. I think I'm good." I say back, trying to be polite as possible.
"Okay…" He says, giving me a tight smile. "You shopping for shot glasses?"
"Yeah…" I murmur, turning back to the shelf to pick up the glass I just sat down. "I'm buying one for my dad."
"Nice." He says, letting his eyes drift down my form again. Totally uncomfortable in this situation, I swallow and try to turn my back to him to end the conversation. "You better hide it if you want it to be a surprise. I see your dad coming now."
My eyebrows shoot up in confusion as I follow his gaze to see Edward coming back from the bathroom. The corners of my lips curl up as Edward strides right up to us and puts his arm around my shoulder.
"Is there a problem?" He asks, his thumb gliding along the exposed skin on my shoulder.
"No, sir. I was just talking with your daughter." I hold in my laughter as Edward literally chokes after hearing what the guy just said.
"Daughter?" He laughs, "Is that what you told him, babe?" He asks, ducking his head to peer down at my amused face.
"Babe?" The employee repeats, making uncomfortable accusatory eye contact with me.
"Yeah… he's not my dad." I murmur, shaking my head as I slip arm around Edward's waist.
"Oh." The guy says, his shoulders falling in defeat.
"But thanks for your help." I chirp, trying to put an end to this situation.
"Yeah…" He murmurs, shaking his head in embarrassment.
"I'm going to get this one." I say to Edward, showing him the simple shot glass with '305' glazed onto it.
"Alright, that's a nice one." He says, shooting me a smile that makes my knees weak. My answering smile is involuntary as he tugs me along with him towards the register.
As we pass the still-stunned employee, I have to bite the inside of my cheek to hide my smile. Especially when Edward murmurs to him lowly, "Better luck next time, buddy."
Sorry for the delay. I've been really busy with school. Like REALLY busy.
