Ch. 11 Naturally
I knocked on Jace's open door. My brother's boyfriend was laying on his bed, his nose stuck in a book. Ray was at work at the moment so that left me to talk with Jace. Besides I had kind of been itching to talk to him about something that I wouldn't dare talk to Ray about. Jace raised his dark blue eyes to me and smiled. "Hey Rosy. Come on in," he said, putting the book down and motioning his hand. I did as told and closed the door behind me.
"Hey. I was wondering if I could talk to you about something." Jace raised an intrigued eyebrow at me. Concern laid in his eyes but I also saw curiosity. I took a seat beside Jace on the edge of his bed.
"Of course you can."
"Okay but you have to promise not to tell Ray about our conversation." Jace stared at me for a moment before slowly nodding. I sighed and looked down to my hands that were folded in my lap. "Well I wanted to talk about sex."
"Excuse me," Jace said, his eyes widening.
"I just didn't know who else to talk to. Everyone else would probably flip out on me."
"Seeing that you are the innocent little thing you are, I can see why they would. But I guess I can try to help you out even though this is some strange territory for us since we have two totally different definitions of sex." I blushed deeply, realizing what he meant. He was right. Things were different for me than it was for him since he is a guy. But hopefully he can still try to understand.
"So, what's on your mind about the whole magical world of baby making?" I let out a small giggle at that as I shook my head.
"Well, Scourge has asked me a couple times about it but I keep turning it down. He doesn't get upset or anything – most of the time but it still makes me feel a bit weird. I mean I have been thinking about it and I've found that a part of me wants it but another part doesn't know if I'm ready for that step yet. Emotionally nor physically."
"Is Scourge willing to wait for you?"
"Yea. Or at least he said that he is."
"Well maybe you should talk to him about it. See more of how his mind is about it. Plus you guys should decide if that's something you both want in your relationship."
"Is that what you and Ray did?" Jace nodded.
"We're not active though. I mean, yea we play around as if we do but I'm the one who's not ready for that step yet. My relationship before I met Ray was a mess. The dude was awful to me. And I hate that sometimes I take my past out on Ray because I know he's not the same way."
"Is Ray different from a lot of other guys he's dated?"
"Yea. He's the only one who's actually cared about me," he murmured. "The others, they just wanted to have sex, beat the shit out of me, and steal my money."
"Why did you put up with that?"
"Because I thought that if I tried to be good enough like I do for my family then one day they would love me." I grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze.
"You know Ray cares about you because of who you are. He doesn't think you can be any better than you are. He thinks you're amazing."
"Really? I think he's just the best guy out there. So anyways, have you talked to your parents since you guys left?" I shook my head.
"I'm dealing with it though. Do you know if Ray has talked to them?"
"I don't think so. I can tell he's upset about it though."
"Yea, me too. It's not fair of my parents to not accept him just because he wants to be happy."
"Yea. It's not. But it's their loss. They pushed away two great kids so they're idiots." He tugged at my ponytail. "So how are you and Scourge?" Unconsciously, a smile came upon my face at the thought of my boyfriend. His beautiful ice blue eyes came to my head as did his adorable little smirk. Jace chuckled at me, snapping me out of my small daze.
"What," I asked him.
"The goofy smile is always the first sign." I tilted my head.
"What are you talking about?"
"The first sign of falling and/or being in love." I blushed and looked down.
"I don't even know what love feels like so how do I know if I'm in love?"
"I don't know. Most of the time, you just know. When the feelings are strong enough then they just take over and you'll definitely figure it out." I looked up at Jace.
"Are you in love with my brother?" As soon as my words left my mouth, a dreamy smile started to take over Jace's face.
"I do but I don't know how to tell him. I want to make it special." I smiled at Jace, giving his hand another squeeze.
"Well I hope everything goes well for you guys." He smiled back and returned the squeeze.
"I wish the best for you and Scourge as well." We gave each other a hug before I got up and walked to my own room. As soon as I flopped down onto my bed, my phone began to ring. It was laying on my nightstand and the loud blast of "Future Love" by Varsity Fanclub almost scared the hell out of me. I grabbed it and answered it.
"Why the hell haven't you been answering your phone," I heard Scourge's voice yell. Whoa, someone was not in a good mood. "I have been calling you for the past hour and a half!"
"I'm sorry. I left it in my room. What's wrong? Are you okay? You sound angry."
"Angry isn't the word for it," he mumbled before I heard him sigh softly. "Can I spend the night with you?"
"Of course you can. I'll be waiting in the lobby for you, okay?"
"Alright," he said before hanging up. I wondered what was bothering him. Scourge did have a short temper but that didn't mean he got mad over stupid things. It just meant that when he got mad, he couldn't control it. A part of me then got a bit worried. Hopefully he wasn't too mad to the point where he could break something – preferably me. When he stalked into the apartment building, I could tell from his tight jaw and glaring eyes that he was beyond pissed. I tried to give him a hug when he reached me but he merely pushed me away. I was hurt by the action but I did understand. He wasn't in the mood to be lovey dovey. We went up to my room in the apartment. I made him sit on my bed with me beside him. He wasn't looking at me. His eyes stayed strictly on the floor.
"Are you gonna tell me what's wrong," I asked softly.
"I don't wanna talk about it," he murmured, his voice barely audible.
"Okay then what do you wanna talk about?" He finally looked up at me, his ice blue eyes guarded.
"We don't have to talk." I blushed under his intense stare and looked away. A soft sigh escaped his lips before his hands slowly crept up onto my shoulders. I tensed up at first, the contact surprising me. Yet, after a little while I began to relax as he gently massaged me. I was starting to notice that I was about the only person he treated with absolute gentleness. Everything else, he kind of just threw around or was reckless with.
"You know, even though this feels really good, I think you should be the one getting a massage."
"Only if you'll give me one."
"Sure." Scourge chuckled softly as I turned around and smiled at him. He stripped off his shirt, exposing his beautifully sculpted muscular torso. I stared at it for a moment before Scourge chuckled again and laid down on his stomach. His back looked good too. Damn this boy. Can't he stop being so hot and just look average? His hot body was starting to be a bit overwhelming. I started to blush as I began to slowly massage his lean back muscles. His skin was so smooth and soft as I rubbed my palms into it. A soft purr rumbled in Scourge's chest as his muscles began to loosen. I made a great effort to make sure all of his muscles in his back and shoulders were loose. Once they were then I rolled him over so he laid on his back. Again I blushed at the sight of his tight torso and chiseled arms. There was a gentle gaze on his face as well that was directed up on me. "Are you feeling any better," I asked.
"Much," he replied. I smiled and leaned down to peck his lips.
"Would you like anything to eat or drink?"
"A soda would be nice." I nodded and got up to go get him a root beer from the fridge. Even though I was only gone for a split second, when I returned I saw that he was flipping through my poem journal. Of course I step away for one moment and he does something I don't want him doing.
"Hey," I yelled, trying to snatch it from him. He was faster than me and moved away before I could even get a grip on his wrist.
"You write very well, Rosa. Your poems are so full with emotions and clear thoughts. I like them."
"You shouldn't be reading that." He rolled his eyes, not even sparing a glance at me. He then turned to the exact page that I did not want him reading. It was a poem about him. I had started it when we first met and then just kept going on with it as our relationship grew into something. Once again, I tried to snatch the book from him but he moved away again. He read the poem intensely. His eyebrows even started to knit together in concentration. Since I knew that my attempts to take the book away from him would fail, I simply sat on my bed and waited for him to finish the long poem. When he did, he raised his eyes up to me. I met his gaze for a second before looking away. I couldn't read his expression which worried me a bit. What thoughts did my poem bring to his mind? Hopefully ones that weren't too bad. I mean, the poem was a bit personal. Some of the things I wrote were things that I never wanted him to know. Could he have taken one of them in the wrong way? Did I offend him? Did I boost that already big ego of his? Or did I ignite something that I hadn't meant to?
"Rosa," I heard Scourge murmur. I blinked back into reality to see that he was kneeling in front of me, my chin in his hands so that I would look at him. His ice blue eyes observed my jade green ones slowly before he spoke again. "Do you love me?" His voice was calm, soft. I knew that he wanted an answer but not in a way that I felt as if he was forcing me. I opened my mouth before closing it again. I tried to look away but his soft grip was still stronger than me. As I started to think about my feelings for him, I found myself finding myself not recognizing any of the emotions. They were all so foreign. So strange. So strong. So deadly.
"I…I don't know," I murmured. In all honesty, I did know how I felt about him. Once I had actually got that moment to think about what was going on then I knew what had happened to me. Just like Jace had said. I just knew. But I didn't want to tell Scourge. Not yet. Not until I knew how he felt about me.
"Well when you figure it out then let me know, alright?" I nodded. He shot a small smile at me before pecking my lips. He then got up and started to pace. Guess we were going to go on to another subject now. Thank God. "Ren is alive," he said, his voice starting to get hard.
"What? That's great," I exclaimed, getting up. It was a surprising fact but good news nonetheless. Scourge glanced at me before shaking his head. His jaw started to tighten up.
"You don't understand."
"What don't I understand? Does Ren not remember you or something? I mean, he's alright isn't he?"
"The problem is that they hid Ren. They kept away for a long while. They put him in foster homes, asylums, and all this other insane shit just because he wasn't in his right mind. I mean, the only way for a kid to get better when he's traumatized is being with his family. With his big brother. Not some stupid therapist who couldn't care less." Now I understood why Scourge was so upset over this. The boy was more hurt than angry. He had his little brother taken away from him and believed he was dead. Then the bomb drops that his little sibling was alive but hidden away. Any person would feel betrayed if something like that ever happened to them. I know I would. I walked up to Scourge and put my hand on his shoulder him. He stopped moving and looked down at me as a sigh escaped his lips. "I just don't know what to do or how to feel right now," he explained.
"I understand but don't stress yourself out too much – I just got your muscles loosened." Scourge chuckled, his signature smirk taking its place back on his full lips.
"You know, I wouldn't mind another massage." I rolled my eyes at him.
"I bet you wouldn't." I then pushed him down onto the bed and gave him another massage since his muscles had tightened up again. Once I was almost done with his shoulders, I noticed him staring up at me from the corner of his eyes. I raised an eyebrow. He smirked and rolled onto his back. His hands smoothed over my hips and tugged lightly until I fell onto his chest. Blush immediately covered my cheeks as my hands met his hard stomach.
"You wanna lay down with me," Scourge asked, his voice low and his accent on full blast.
"Oh. Okay," I murmured, settling myself against his chest. A soft rumble filled my ears as he chuckled.
"Someone likes cuddling." I smiled, letting my hand slowly start to rub against his eight pack. The room began to get silent after that, only the gentle sound of both of our breathing filling the room. I looked up at him to see him staring down at me. I blushed softly.
"Is what I'm doing ok?" He didn't reply. Instead, he leaned down and kissed me. I let out a small purr of content as his kisses began to become a bit hungry but still gentle. His tongue teased at my lips until I finally gave in and opened my mouth for him. Damn he tasted so good. We made out for a long while in my bed. Hell, I even climbed on top of him. Of course, Scourge only liked it for a split second before a soft growl rumbled in his chest and he flipped us over so that he was on top. His hands started to roam my body cautiously, our kisses getting hotter and hotter. Bells began to ring in my head. Time to stop. I pulled away with a soft sigh. Scourge looked down at me, concern filling his eyes.
"What's wrong," he asked. Well, seems like it's time for that talk that Jace told me Scourge and I should have. Or at least there wasn't a better time than now.
"I wanna talk to you about something," I replied, starting to push him off of me. He sat up and leaned against my headboard. I also sat up but I kept my eyes down on my folded hands that laid in my lap. "Um, I was wondering if you were willing to wait for sex." Scourge raised his eyebrow again as he tilted his head slightly.
"I thought I already was waiting."
"I know but I just wanted to know how you felt about waiting." Scourge shrugged his shoulders lazily.
"All I know is that it will be worth it in the end." He pecked a kiss at my temple. "What's all this about anyway?"
"Well, I guess I just feel as if I can't give you everything you're used to because of my beliefs and how I see things. I mean I know you said it doesn't matter but-"
"It doesn't, Rosy. Sex can take a hike for all I care. As long as I have you then I'll be perfectly happy."
"Really," I asked, staring up at him with wide naïve eyes. He smiled down at me and nodded.
"Yea, baby," he said, caressing my cheek. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close against him. I breathed in his cinnamon scent, cuddling my head against his chest.
"Maybe one day I'll let you have your way." Scourge purred teasingly at my comment causing me to giggle.
"That day can't come fast enough, can it?" I hit his shoulder making him laugh. He leaned down and started to peck kisses in random places on my neck.
"Are you hungry? I can make you something to eat if you want."
"Hmm, I'm actually in the mood for some ice cream and a scary movie with my babe." I laughed.
"Okay well you pick a scary movie and I'll go get some ice cream." Scourge nodded before kissing me one last time and letting me go. The rest of the time after that went by pretty smoothly. Scourge had picked out Nightmare on Elm Street which he watched for a split second. After he ate his ice cream, he was out like a light. But he was so attractive when he was sleeping. I loved how peaceful he looked. Absentmindedly, I began to trace his relaxed features but I was careful not to wake him up. He was just so beautiful. I couldn't wait to tell him that I loved him. That I was deeply in love with him at that. But my only fear was if he felt the same way or not. I'd spent my whole life avoiding heartbreak but now here I am: vulnerable as ever with a boy who shouldn't be worth my time. Then again, maybe he wouldn't break my heart. So far he seemed to cherish it. Maybe he wanted to know how I felt so that he could tell me that he felt the same way. Then things would definitely be a lot better for us. But on the other hand, he could lie just to get what he wanted. Why am I always doubting him? Oh yea, because he's a heartbreaker and sometimes change doesn't go all the way through. I sighed sadly at the thought of him hurting me. Even though I tried my hardest not to feel that way, I still couldn't help but let the thought creep in once or twice.
Scourge cracked his eyes open, obviously hearing the noise I made. He pulled me closer against him and kissed my forehead. "Are you alright," he murmured, his accent taking over his voice as did the sleepy tune that most people have when they wake up.
"Yea. I'm just having a hard time getting to sleep."
"You know, I can help with that," he said with a playful smirk. I hit his arm causing him to chuckle. "Is there something bothering you?"
"No. My body just doesn't want to go to sleep." Scourge chuckled again but sleep overtook him. His arms tightened around me and I heard him murmur my name. I smiled, pecking a kiss at his lips before curling up against him and beginning to fall asleep myself.
Just a short little filler chap ^.^
