Now ... The wedding … the honeymoon … and the surprise!
Here comes the bride … all dressed in white … I think I'm gonna throw up … and then run and hide!
Bella can't seem to get the age-old jingle out of her head. She's made up countless lyrics to it over the last two days, but now that she's standing at the doorway leading to the altar where Edward is waiting, her nerves have kicked into overdrive. Who would have thought that two magical words, I do, would make her as nervous as she is right now. Nervous enough to know that she would have no problem throwing up her scant breakfast.
Edward, on the other hand, is cool as a cucumber. Standing there waiting, he impatiently glances down the aisle, hoping to see Bella, so he can finally make her his.
"Is this thing going to start or what?" he asks quietly to Jasper, who in turn looks questionably at his mother. It doesn't take but a look from Esme before the Bridal March begins to play over the sound system.
Once the first note is heard, the men take their place next to Edward, and huge smiles come over the three of them.
First, Alice, then Rosalie walk down the grass aisle that's covered with white rose petals, wearing mint green dresses that, when the breeze blows, the material gracefully billows around them. Everyone smiles and points at the jeweled toe sandals on their feet. Sam follows behind the girls, dressed the same as Emmett and Jasper, who are dressed in dove gray tuxedos with matching mint green ties.
As soon as Bella and her father make their way to the entrance of the doorway, everyone stands to watch her walk toward Edward.
As if she isn't nervous enough.
Edward can't take his eyes off her in her knee length dress that's similar to Alice and Rosalie's, only it's a soft white rather than their pale mint green. He can see the sun glow off her smooth skin that's showing beneath the delicate, thin straps of the dress. He nearly drops his jaw, though, when he sees that his bride, too, is barefoot with pearls and beads adorning the tops of her feet.
He can sense her anxiety, and as soon as his eyes meet hers, it's like a wave of calm washes over her, and after taking a deep cleansing breath, Bella smiles at Edward then reaches for his hand.
As soon as the pastor motions for everyone to take their seats, Bella hands her bouquet to Alice, and Edward swallows thickly, beginning his vow.
"Bella, I love you. I think you know this. On the day I first saw you, our eyes met in your rear view mirror, I knew then I had found a home for my heart. It was getting you to open the door to yours was the hard part. I knew my heart no longer belonged to me because you have owned it ever since. I love you, Bella. I always believed I would find you, and I thank God every day that I have. I vow to you that I will love you for the rest of our lives. My promise to you is that I will strive to show you every single day that you are loved. I will protect you, honor you, and worship you. Please know I will love you for the rest of my life." With tears in both of their eyes, he raises her hand to his lips and kisses the spot where he slips her wedding band.
Thankfully, Alice flutters a mint green handkerchief over Bella's shoulder, so that she can wipe the tears that have broken loose. With a ladylike sniff, Bella begins her vows.
"Edward, I love you. I can't express how comforting just saying those three words makes me feel. You show me every day how loved and cherished I am, and every day when I open my eyes, I am so grateful to have you in my life. You make me feel protected and safe, and more importantly, I feel your love even when you are away. I can only hope to endeavor to make you feel the same. I fought my feelings for so long and knew, the moment I saw you, I was in trouble. You walked out your front door but you didn't see me because your eyes were glued to your phone, but I saw you. I knew I loved you even then. I vow to love you for the rest of your life. To never give you reason to doubt my love. I will honor you, worship you and hold your heart next to mine. But more importantly, I thank you for giving us Antoinette."
As soon as Bella says her vows, she raises Edward's large hand to her lips, placing a kiss on the finger that will wear his ring for the rest of his life. When Edward gives the pastor a questioning look, the man gives a nod, and Edward gently takes his wife in his arms and, looking down in to her loving eyes, he kisses her … gently, adoringly, and lovingly.
"I love you, Mrs. Cullen."
"And I love you, husband."
"Ladies and gentlemen, before the eyes of God, and you as their witness, Edward and Bella have consented to be husband and wife. May your love be blessed, may your marriage be blessed and may your lives be blessed. It is with great pleasure that I be the first to introduce to you, Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Isabella Cullen," the pastor announces.
Edward scoops Bella into his arms, to which she responds with a high-pitched squeal, much to the laughter and applause of their friends and family. He carries her down the aisle and into the house where he takes her into the library, kicking the door shut with the heel of his shoe.
"This is the happiest day of my life, Bella. You're mine now, baby. There's no escaping me."
"I've always been yours, Edward, and I don't want to escape you."
"You know what I mean," he says with a growl. "I want to make love to you in the worst way, it isn't funny," Edward says against the skin of her bare shoulder, leaving a trail of kisses that leads to the curve of her neck and up to her ear.
"When do we leave for our honeymoon?" Bella asks, her breathing becoming more shallow.
"Tomorrow," Edward replies, his lips reaching her earlobe.
"Do you mean we have to sleep in this house on our wedding night, not leaving until tomorrow?" she asks, turning her head into him, seeking his warm lips.
"Oh, fuck no!" he answers against her lips. "We are staying at the condo tonight, wife."
"Oh, thank God!" she sighs, opening her mouth against his in a heated kiss. Edward is about ready to lift her willing thighs around his waist before the door opens, interrupting a seriously potential tryst.
"Edward, Bella?" Carlisle says, carrying Toni in his arms. Bella smiles down at her daughter who is dressed in her little white satin dress.
"What is it, Dad?" Edward acknowledges, taking Toni into his own arms, making baby sounds at her as he cuddles her.
"Your mother and I have a special present for our little girl here." We look over at Esme who has a small Tiffany green box in her hands, and when she opens it, a small tiny pink pearl and diamond bracelet rests on a bed of satin.
"You know all the girls in the family have a piece of jewelry, and we can't leave our little Antoinette out," Carlisle says, slipping the jeweled band over Toni's small fist. Bella nearly weeps at seeing Carlisle slip his finger into Toni's hand where she grips tight around it. He then raises her small fingers to his lips and kisses them.
"I love you, baby girl." When he kisses her brow, Esme and Carlisle, arm in arm, lead the way out of the library to greet their waiting guests.
"Chipped?" Bella asks, looking up at her new husband.
"Yep," Edward replies with a nod and a smile.
As soon as the newlyweds enter the tent where dinner is about to be served, it doesn't take long before the family converges upon them, mainly so each can have their turn with Toni. She's the guest of honor apparently.
On one side of the tent, a buffet dinner of any cut of beef you desire is offered, along with just about any side dish you want. On the other side of the tent there's an assortment of seafood, also served with assorted sides.
Bella chooses shrimp scampi on fettuccini, and Edward chooses a thick prime rib steak, and as soon as they sit at their table with the wedding party, the wine and salads are served. While everyone is enjoying their meal to the music played by the D.J., Jasper decides this is a good time for him to make his speech to the newly married couple. He stands and clinks his fork on the side of his champagne glass.
"Attention everyone, it's time for me to make the expected speech to embarrass the groom," he begins to the chagrin of his brother.
"Edward, I've known you all my life. I remember your first girlfriend, you know. Remember how you thought it would be cool if you would give her a present by putting a frog in a box? I remember you wrapping it in the Sunday comic paper and putting a shoestring bow on it. Jessica didn't even know you existed until a week later, when you finally presented her with your carefully wrapped gift. Remember how she screamed after seeing the dead and shriveled frog? Mother prohibited you from giving anymore live gifts. That is until you met Bella. Not only did you and Bella give each a gift of life, you gifted your families with Antoinette as well. For that, we all thank you. Bella, I've never seen my brother as happy as he is today. You've brought him to life, and for that I am forever grateful. I love you both. Cheers."
Everyone claps and whistles when Edward gets up from his seat to hug his brother, and we'll never know what is whispered between the two, but it is filled with love. You can tell by the way they grab the side of each other's necks and briefly put their brows against each other.
"Ahem, excuse me for interrupting this love fest, but I have my own little story to tell about our bride here," Alice says, standing and facing Bella. "Bella and I have been best friends for so long I can't even remember when we actually met. Okay, I do, but you know what I mean." Everyone chuckles at her as she stops to take a sip of wine. "Bella wasn't one to date. She had her occasional thing, you know dinner and a movie, but not with anyone that she wanted to make a true commitment with. I remember when she came home and told me about a client that she had one day, and how he had raised the privacy window when they stopped to pick up his date. After she saw the two of them together, she knew why he raised the glass. Why, Edward, are you blushing?" Everyone looks at him, and the redness of his face can be seen a mile down the road. "Anyway, Bella told me all about you that day. She even gave you a nickname; does anyone here know it?" When no one said they did, with the exception of his family, Alice continues. "You ruined her for any other man that day, Edward. I knew by the way she spoke of you. Oh, she was on a tirade about how you did this and how you did that … but then she was hired by the Cullens as their family chauffeur. She even tried to remain the stoic professional by not allowing herself to fall for the boss's son, but you finally got under her skin. I've never seen her happier and in love than she is right now. So, to that, I want to thank you for loving my best friend, because she has finally found her Romeo."
Edward chokes the moment the pet name is out of her mouth, and everyone in his family joins in. Soon, it becomes obvious to everyone else what Bella's pet name for her new husband is.
Once all the speeches are finished and the tables are cleared, the dancing begins. After the bride and groom make the customary first dance, and the families have had their turn around the floor, Edward, Jasper and Emmett step outside the tent to have a cigar, when they walk in on Jacob and Paul slowly dancing to the music.
"I didn't know they were a couple," Jasper says, seeing Paul and Jacob slow dancing to the music. He turns his back on the couple to give them privacy and to light his cigar.
"I didn't either," Emmett says puffing heavily on his stogie. "Apparently it's been going on for a few months now. I'm glad Paul found someone again. I know he missed Roger a lot, but man, what a contrast Jacob is to Roger, eh?"
All three men look up and see the two men coming toward them.
"Hey, Edward, congratulations!" Paul says shaking his hand.
"Thanks, man. Would you like to join us?" Edward says, pulling two cigars from the inside of his jacket. Handing one to each them, they light up and puff on the fat stogies.
"So, where are you honeymooning, Edward?" Paul asks, puffing again.
"Just spending a couple weeks in Italy," Edward replies with a slight frown.
"What is it?" Jasper asks, clasping his brother's shoulder.
"I'm just wondering if we can go that long without Toni. I'll miss my little girl something awful."
"Whenever you want to see her, you just let me know, and I'll make sure we have a Skype call set up, all right?" Edward shyly nods his head, knowing his powerful love for his daughter is showing. He misses her already, and he's about ready to drop a tear if they don't change the subject.
"Well," Edward says, looking at his watch, "I'm going to go get my bride and start my honeymoon," he says winking at the three men standing in front of him.
"I have your car waiting for you out front, Edward," Jacob says, handing the keys out to him. Paul leans into Jake, just to feel him next to him.
"Thanks, Jake. I appreciate that," Edward says with a nod then turns to head back inside the massive tent where he spots his bride immediately.
"Come on, wife, we have a honeymoon to get to," he whispers into Bella's ear. She turns and smiles up into his face, takes his hand and leads him to Charlie, who is holding Toni. After several tearful minutes of cuddling their daughter, they say their farewells to friends and family.
After everyone sees the newlyweds off, waving as they drive out the gate, Bella turns to Edward with a frown.
"Where are we going?" she asks, impatiently.
"Do you really want to know or would you like it to be a surprise?"
"I really want to know. I can't have any fun if I'm always wondering where you're taking me."
"Well, tonight we are staying at the condo where we can be alone, and so I can make you scream your pretty little head off without the risk of us seeing score cards when we leave the room," he says grinning at her. "Then tomorrow, we fly out and head to Italy for two weeks. We'll spend four days in Rome, then on to Sicily for the remainder of the trip. I've rented villas for our stay. No hotels because I didn't want to share you with anyone. Does that sound good to you?" he asks her, reaching over to run his finger across her soft cheek.
"It sounds perfect, Edward. Just perfect." Bella lays her head back on the seat waiting in nervous anticipation of making love to her husband for the first time.
"I wonder if every bride is nervous on her wedding night." she says, expressing her thoughts out loud. After being with Edward all this time and having a daughter together, she can't understand why she would have the jitters.
"I don't know, baby. Are you nervous?" he answers, taking hold of her hand and raising it to his lips as she barely nods her response.
"Don't be. We don't even have to if you don't want to. We can watch a movie … go to bed early, so we are rested for our early flight … whatever you want to do, sweetie."
Bella just sits back, watching as the landscape rolls by until the car pulls into the underground garage. As soon as Edward turns the car off, he jumps out and opens the door for his wife.
Once the elevator opens to the living room, he again scoops Bella into his arms and carries her over the threshold. She palms his face in her hands and lowers him to her for a sweet kiss.
"Take me to bed, husband."
"Oh, Edward, is this one of your planes?" Bella squeals upon seeing the sleek, black jet sitting on the tarmac.
"Do you mean the one right there that says MileHigh on the side?" Edward replies sarcastically. He looks over at his blushing bride and she elbows him in the ribs.
"No. This is one of our planes, Mrs. Cullen."
"This … this is safe, isn't it?" she questions, slowing with each step, coming to a rest at the bottom of the steps. Edward's heart breaks when he sees that she's standing silent as she stares that lead up to the black hole that is the doorway.
"Yes, baby. I promise you." He turns her so she's facing him. Her fear is evident. "Do you think I would allow you to fly with me if it wasn't? This plane has been tested and re-tested. I've had a guard watching it ever since I decided to fly us in our own plane," he assures her, wrapping his arms around her warmly. "I would never allow you to be in danger. I promised, remember?"
"Yes. I remember."
Once the couple is aboard the plane, and buckled in tight, they pull out for departure, and the next thing they know they are airborne.
After seeing that the pilot has turned off the seatbelt light, the flight attendant comes through the galley with a tray of Mimosas and two plates of sausage quiche and fresh fruit.
"Oh, yum," Bella coos, placing her napkin over her lap and both dig into their meal.
"Hey, baby," Edward says through a mouthful of fruit. "You wouldn't want to join the MileHigh club, would you?"
"I didn't wear this skirt and no panties for nothing, sweetheart," Bella teases, taking a large sip of her champagne drink batting her eyelashes at her husband.
Suddenly, Edward turns in his seat and throws his napkin on the table. Bella looks into his hooded eyes when he pulls her up and tosses her over his shoulder. She squeals when he slips his hand up under her skirt and between her legs. When the flight attendant rushes out of the galley, Bella raises her head and winks at her just as Edward turns into the bathroom.
"All right, Mrs. Cullen," he begins, sitting her down hard on the counter, placing his hands on either side of her thighs. "I made love to you last night, but the MileHigh Club is for fucking."
Edward wraps her hair around his hand and crashes his lips tight against hers, where his tongue invades her mouth passionately. After he breaks the aggressive kiss, he places his hands on the inside of her thighs, pushing them apart, kneeling down to see her bare pussy.
"Take hold of that bar up there, Bella," Edward demands. He looks up to make sure she holds onto the support above her head. When he sees she's holding on, he opens the drawer to his right, pulling out two chains with soft leather stirrups attached. After securing each of the chains to the bar, he lets the chains drop.
Bella, looking shocked at what she's seeing, looks at her husband who licks his lips in anticipation.
Edward slowly slips a leg through one stirrup, securing the stirrup under her knee. He teases her by running his hand down along the inside of her thigh, gently grazing over her already wet lips and repeats the process with her other leg. Once he makes sure she's comfortable, he places his hands over hers and leans in for another heat-filled kiss, leaving her totally breathless and fully exposed to the cool air.
"Hang on tight, baby," Edward growls, pushing the chains outward and away from her hands, forcing her legs open even wider.
"Ed … ward," she whispers, closing her eyes, needing him to touch her.
"Fuck, you should see how wet you are!"
Edward pulls her hips to the very edge of the counter, running his thumb up and down over her slit, covering her with her own wetness.
"Pull yourself up off the counter, baby," he instructs, and as soon as she's off the counter, he slips a small pillow under her.
"Does that feel better?"
"Yes," she whispers.
Lowering himself onto his knees, he brings his face in and inhales her essence. "Now, lean your shoulders back against the mirror, relax and enjoy the ride," he says against her hot, wet lips. Upon his mouth touching her, she releases a shuddering breath, and when his tongue enters her, her body quivers with need.
"Don't move," he whispers, his warm breath blanketing her.
Edward grazes his tongue from her entrance to the top of her clit, gently sucking the sensitive nub between his lips all while watching his wife fight from removing her hands from the bar.
He knows it's not going to take long before she comes, so he stops, kissing along the inside of her thighs, allowing her heart to slow and her breathing to return to normal. He looks up into her fog-laden eyes and knows it's time to start again. He begins to tease her by curling two fingers inside her, lightly stroking the rough skin there. When he feels her respond to his touch, he flicks his tongue over her swollen clit again until she begins to mutter obscenities to herself.
"What, baby? What do you want?" he asks as he watches his own fingers work her into a frenzy.
"I want to come … fuck, I need to come," she pleas, biting her bottom lip.
Edward stops again to give her time to calm herself and stands to unbutton his jeans, dropping them and his briefs to the floor. Once he's kicked his clothing from his feet, he glares into Bella's eyes.
"I'm going to fuck you now, Bella. Don't make a sound, or I will stop. If you moan, I will stop. If you scream, I will stop. Do you understand?" he says low into her ear while running the head of his cock over her, gathering her natural juices over the tip before slowly slipping inside her.
"Oh …" It was all it takes before Edward stops and pulls out of her. "Sorry," she apologizes and bites down on both her lips, praying he begins again.
"Not a sound." Bella nods her head quickly in understanding.
He spreads his hands across the back of her thighs, pushing them back so they rest alongside her ribs. Lowering his face to hers, he gains eye contact with her and thrusts deep inside forcing a gasp from her.
With each slow withdrawal, he returns it with a hard, deep thrust. Not wanting to test his threat to stop, Bella breaths heavily through her nose and soon she begins to feel the onset of her orgasm. Her breathing escalates, her chest rises and falls with each magical thrust, and she wants to move her hips with his, but it's impossible with the way he has her anchored in the stirrups.
"Does that feel good, baby? Do you want to come?" he asks picking up the pace as he fucks his wife. Bella closes her eyes, exhales and nods again.
He lowers his head to the side of hers so her lips are next to his ear. He wants to hear her fight from speaking. He likes the way she sounds when she's about to come, the way she whimpers.
"Open your mouth for me. Let me hear you breathe, baby," Edward says, listening to her heavy, raspy, shuttering breaths.
"Edward, baby, I need to come," she whispers low into his ear. "I love you, please let me come. Fuck me until I come all over you. I love feeling your hard cock fill me." Edward picks up the speed and forcefulness of his thrusts at hearing his dirty-talking wife. "Let me feel your cum shoot inside me. I want to milk every drop from your thick cock."
When she clamps her muscles down around him, and upon hearing her sexy words, he smacks his hands on the counter and begins to pound hard into her receiving an 'Uh' with each forceful thrust. He fucks her so hard and fast that Bella removes her hands from the bar and wraps her arms tight around his shoulders.
"Fuck, this is it, baby, come with me," he growls, wrapping his arms tight around her waist, holding her steady against him while he empties himself deep inside her.
"Oh, God, Edward!" Bella breathes out still not certain she's permitted to speak. Her orgasm is so overwhelming and completely intense that her nails dig scratches into her husband's skin.
As his cock jerks, he empties the last remnants of cum inside her. Surprisingly, she feels another orgasm coming, and her hips begin to instinctively move.
"Oh, fuck, baby, I'm … I'm coming again!" Edward looks down into her face, knowing she's having a multiple orgasm. He quickly lowers his hand between them and strokes her clit with his thumb.
"Oh, yeah, come for me, Bella … come for me," he growls, watching her orgasm for a second time, his fingers moving over her fast and aggressive.
"Fuuuuu … uck!" she cries out, her hips moving against his hand.
"That's it, baby. That's it," he says into her mouth as he kisses her through the intensity.
After he removes his hand, Bella's body slumps in exhaustion, and Edward removes the chain from the bar and slides the stirrups from her legs.
"I fucking love you, Bella!" he declares, holding his wife to his chest. "And I love fucking you."
"So, that's the MileHigh Club, eh?"
"Yes, baby, that's the MileHigh Club," he chuckles while weaving his fingers through her hair.
"Well, I liked it, but I'm ready for a nap. Is there a place to sleep in this plane?" she asks yawning.
Edward removes two wash cloths from the drawer, and after soaking them in warm water, cleans his wife up first, then himself.
"Yes, let's go take a nap, and hopefully by the time we wake, we will be in Rome."
"Mr. Cullen, sir. Mr. Cullen, we are approaching Rome. I will need you and your wife to get seated and put your seat belts on," the pilot says over the intercom.
"Yes. Thank you, Jim," Edward replies to the pilot while looking at his sleeping Bella. Stroking her hair from her eyes, he leans in for a brief kiss.
"Baby? It's time to get up, we're in Rome."
"Mmmm, really? Already?"
"They need us to get to our seats. You ready to start your honeymoon, Mrs. Cullen?"
After spending only four short days in one of the most beautiful cities Bella has ever seen, they hop their plane for Palermo, Sicily, to find a Maserati waiting. Edward drives them to their villa that overlooks the sea where they will spend the remaining days of their honeymoon.
As soon as Edward carries their luggage to the master suite, Bella makes haste by putting everything away, leaving out her midnight blue bikini to enjoy a swim in the pool.
As she walks through the house, she stops by the kitchen for a cold drink, winking at her husband and walks through the French doors leading out to the sparkling water.
"Looking fucking sexy in that skimpy material there, Bella," Edward says over the rim of his Ray-Bans. That earns him a little shimmy of her pert ass, and he smirks naughtily recalling the first time he ever made love to her. It doesn't take him long to realize that she's wearing the exact swimming suit that she wore the very first time he made love to her.
Edward sets his glass of iced tea down on the counter and watches as his Bella gets situated on the lounge chair before he makes his move. She lies on her stomach and settles in for a little sun bathing ... he licks his lips and moves in for the kill.
Standing over her, he reaches down and unties the flimsy string around her neck and unhooks the back of the top.
"What are you up to, Edward?" she says with a cheerful lilt.
Slowly and gracefully, he then begins to pull the bottoms of her suit down her graceful legs.
"Living a fantasy, baby."
Once her suit is removed, he removes the clothes he travelled in, rolls her over and lifts her into his arms.
"I'm going to make love to my wife in the pool, just like we did that very first time."
Edward carries her down the steps, lowering her legs into the cool, refreshing water. Bella instinctively wraps her limbs around his waist, immediately feeling his cock at her entrance. It isn't long before he pushes down on her hips, and with a thrust of his own, he's planted deep inside her.
"Do you remember how you regretted the first time we made love, Bella?" he asks while gently moving within her.
"I didn't regret it, baby, and I remember it. Unf … every day, I remember," she says through his deep thrusts.
Edward walks them over to the side of the pool where he can anchor her against something solid while he makes love to his wife.
"Hold on, baby," he says against her cheek. Feeling her arms tighten around him, he holds her hips steady while he thrusts into her, and it doesn't take long before her head falls back and she's crying out in pleasure while he grunts into her chest in his own release.
Taking her face into the palm of his hands, Edward looks into her eyes and kisses her soundly. "I love you so fucking much, Bella."
Bella clamps her arms around him and holds him tight to her, locking her ankles around his waist while he's still buried inside her.
After several days of resting and enjoying each other, they decide to spend some time in town, doing the tourist thing. They enjoy too many cannolis and coffee, making several visits to Vino & Company for wine at the wine pump, and one of Bella's favorite is taking a stroll through the Palazzo dei Normanni. On the last day of their honeymoon, they decide to visit the Vucciria Market to purchase gifts for their friends and family.
"Bella, don't you have enough? You've bought something for everyone," Edward says, looking at a tray of sunglasses. When she doesn't respond, he looks up at her to see her standing still as a statue, staring at the entrance to a dark alley.
Seeing the look on her face, he asks, "Bella, what is it?" She doesn't answer, but stands there, her face white as a sheet like she's just seen a ghost.
"Bella, what?" he asks again, shaking her out of her trance.
"I … I saw …"
"What, Bella? You're scaring me here," Edward says, taking a stand in front of her to break her stare.
"Signore, per favore vieni con me," a weathered woman suddenly approaches and says to him, pulling and tugging on his arm, clearly wanting him to follow her.
"What does she want?" Bella asks, looking fearful at him.
"Signore, si prega di venire."
"She wants us to go with her." Bella and Edward look at the frantic old woman. Apparently it must be urgent, because she nearly drags Edward to the alley that Bella was just staring at.
Edward takes his wife's hand and asks a merchant if they can store their packages at their booth for a moment. After she tucks them under the table, Edward and Bella follow the old woman.
What they find sitting on the stairs leading to up to a row of dirty apartments is none other than Tanya.
Edward is the first to speak. "Tanya?" She only nods, not able to speak.
Bella can't help but stare at how tired she looks. Her once beautiful and shiny hair is now dirty and stringy. Her face is now pasty and worn, and her once fashionable clothes are now replaced with rags. What really shocks the couple is what's in her lap: a baby that's about two months old.
The couple doesn't know what to say to her, and all they can do is stare. Tanya moves to get up from her seat and walks over to Bella, holding the little baby out to her.
"Chiede che si prende il suo bambino," the old woman says for Tanya.
"Tanya wants us to take her baby, Bella," Edward says, shocked.
"What?" Bella exclaims, taking a step backward.
"Signora, Tanya non può prendersi cura del suo bambino. È lui deve prendere," the old woman pleads.
"She said that the baby will die if we don't take him," Edward says, beginning to get concerned for the baby. "What do you want to do? I don't think Tanya can care for it."
"Edward, no! We can't. We have Toni already and, really? Tanya's baby? Really?" Bella looks at him, shocked that he would even consider it.
"Bella, look at her. She's broken. She can't raise a child in this squalor. It's not for her that I would even think about it. Look at that little boy. Do you really think he will have a chance of surviving here?"
Bella leans in to see the little boy and inwardly admits that he is cute, but doesn't want to raise another baby when she has her hands full with Toni, and university will start shortly after they return from Italy.
"Edward, no," she says shaking her head. Edward looks sadly at the baby and back at Tanya.
"I'm sorry, Tanya," he says sadly. But she isn't ready to accept his rejection and shoves the baby into his chest for him to take anyway. Edward steps away, holding his hands in the air not touching the bundle.
"Wait!" Bella says excitedly. "We'll take him." Edward and Tanya snap their heads up to look at Bella, surprised at her complete change of heart.
"Are you sure, baby?" he asks needing confirmation.
"Yes, I'm absolutely sure."
Leaving a grieving and relieved Tanya, Edward and Bella gather their packages and head to the local department store to purchase necessities for the baby. As soon as they return to the Villa, Edward contacts Carlisle, and under complete confidentiality, asks his father to procure the proper paperwork to get through customs. After a rather uneventful night with the little one, the couple is on the plane and on their way home.
"I can't even think what my parents are going to say," Edward murmurs, looking down at the baby.
"Well, you are going to have to trust me on this one, Edward. Everyone is going to be shocked," Bella replies, checking to see if the baby needs a diaper change.
"What are we going to call him?" Edward asks.
"Oh, I don't know. Let's wait and see what everyone else thinks, all right?" Edward agrees, but he's still baffled by his wife's sudden change of heart.
After a long plane ride, Jacob is waiting at the hanger, ready as always. Bella and Edward aren't surprised to see Paul waiting alongside him, both excited to see the newlyweds.
"How was the …" Jacob begins, stopping mid-sentence upon seeing the baby. Surprised, he looks at Bella, who is holding the bundle.
"What the hell is this?" Paul says, running his finger over the baby's cheek. "You didn't pull a Twilight thing and have a baby in two weeks and call it Renesmee did you?"
"No. This is your son … if you want him," Bella says sweetly to the men. Paul and Jacob, speechless, look at each other then back to Bella and Edward. The two men nearly break down in tears with her offer. She gently hands the little blue bundle over to them while Edward stands back in utter amazement of his wife.
"What are you saying, Bella?" Jacob asks, his hands shaking reaching for the baby.
"I know how in love you two are. You have also mentioned that you wanted to have your own family someday. I also know the difficulties you will face in adopting, so when this opportunity arose in Sicily, I thought of you two. If you're not ready to take this step, I'm sure we can find another couple who will take care of him," Bella explains, hopeful that they will see the wonderful opportunity looking them in the face.
Jacob and Paul look at each other lovingly and both begin to grin at the same time.
"Fuck yes, we want him!" Jacob says, reaching out for the baby, and together Jake and Paul coo over their new son, and just like that, they are a family. "We will work on the legalities and it shouldn't take long to sort it out," Edward assures the two new fathers.
"Baby, that was undoubtedly the most wonderful thing you could have done for them. You are full of surprises. No wonder I love you so fucking much!" He pulls his wife into a warm embrace and kisses her lovingly, leaving her with Paul while he and Jacob retrieve the luggage and baby items from the plane.
Edward looks back at his wife who is watching him adoringly. She blows him a kiss and mouths the words he loves to hear.
"I love you."
Twenty Years Later …
"Are you ready to go, baby?" Edward calls out to his wife who is running late … again.
"Ready. Let's go or we'll be late." Edward chuckles at her comment and opens the front door waiting as Bella runs down the stairs.
Today is Toni's college graduation day. Taking after her mother, she excelled in her studies, graduated with her degree and will be starting Harvard law school in the fall.
Pulling into the parking lot of Northwestern, the couple meet up with Jacob, Paul and their son, Roger. Roger has been in love with Toni all their lives and will be moving to Cambridge to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and to be near his fiancé.
Alice and Jasper married the year following Edward and Bella's wedding, and Rosalie and Emmett married shortly after.
Esme and Carlisle retired from Sector One, turning the reigns over to Jasper, Alice, Rosalie and Emmett. Rosalie was trained well by her own mother in interrogation techniques and soon surpassed her mother in the 'bad ass' category. Alice turned out to be a master researcher, and given enough time, can find anything or anyone. Emmett became a sharp shooter and is often recruited by the CIA and FBI to get a job done when needed. As usual, Jasper is the brain behind the organization, much like his father.
Between the three couples, they have given Carlisle and Esme five grandchildren to enjoy during their very active retirement.
Charlie retired from the police force, and he and Renee moved to Chicago to be near their daughter. Edward and Bella bought property not far outside of Chicago and built their own home along with a nice home for her parents to live the rest of their lives, enjoying their retirement with their only granddaughter.
Garrett and Leah, who never had children of their own, are still with Carlisle and Esme, and have adopted not only the Cullen children, but the grandchildren as their own.
Sam and Sue never married, but have been living together since shortly after they met at Bella's pool party twenty years ago. Sue is still Edward's personal assistant, and Sam now owns the limousine service seemingly abandoned by James, buying it at auction. They have two sets of twins … three boys and a girl.
But today is about Antoinette. As Edward and Bella watch their only child walk across the stage, she is introduced as graduating Summa Cum Laude.
After the long ceremony ends, the families meet on the lawn to congratulate the new graduate. Having made plans to meet at the Cullen estate for Toni's graduation party, Bella pulls Edward aside and looks into his eyes.
"Edward?" she begins, taking him by his arm.
"Um … I'm pregnant."
Bella bends over her unconscious husband who is now flat on his back spread out on the sidewalk.
"It's all right, Edward. Everything is going to be just fine."
