DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN THE HOBBIT
Kili stood beside Fili waving to the distant figures of Bilbo, Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn and the Elves. The brothers then sighed both in relief and contentment. Kili looked at Fili and then at the ArkenStone shining around his neck. He smiled a softer smile and caressed it. He looked up to see Fili smiling at him.
"It is beautiful," Fili said.
"I don't care if it was just a piece of rock," Kili said, "It would still be beautiful. Not because it is our Right to Rule, but because it gave you back to me."
Fili turned to face Kili. Kili looked up into those strong grey eyes. Memories from their lives, from dwarflings to adulthood flashed before him; all the pain, joy, anguish and triumphs that had served to make them into the dwarves that they were today. But most of all it was their unwavering love and faith in each other that had kept each other in life and from death, that was the real reason behind their survival. They were each other's heart and life. And there was no better person to hold his life in his hand than Fili; his golden tower of strength and courage.
Kili leaned forward to rest his forehead against Fili's.
"Thank you," he whispered, "Thank you for not letting me go."
"Kili," Fili said seriously, "I will never let you go."
