7:00 pm Friday
"Hey, Ichigo can I borrow some money? I'm going out on a date soon. I won't get paid until next week. I swear I'll pay you back." The raven haired man pleaded with his roommate.
"Why the hell can't you wait until then?" Ichigo said in an irritable tone.
"But, I told her that we'd go out tonight. She such a sweet woman and very easy to look at."
"I don't care."
"I'm going to ask you one last time."
". . ."
"Just because you haven't been out on a date for decades doesn't mean-"
"Fine." Ichigo gave him $150 dollars.
"Is that all?" Yamimaru seemed disappointed.
"Yes it is. And, besides you don't need to pay me back. I'm glad you've found a nice girl." He gave him a half smile before leaving.
"Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it." The man fished through his pockets to find his cell phone.
"It's me. I'll be there in a few minutes."
"Okay, I'll be waiting outside for you."
Orihime was actually looking forward to her date with Yamimaru tonight. He seemed nice enough. It's been a long time since she met a gentlemen like him. To the young lady the amount of money he made didn't matter, she has enough of it already. "What should I wear?" She finally decided on a peach satin taffeta dress with a strap over one shoulder just a few inches above her knees with vanilla open toe strap heels. Orihime wore light make up with her hair falling down her shoulders and a white shawl to cover her shoulders.
Orihime waited for nearly twenty minutes outside Ume Hotel for her date to arrive. She saw a car stop right in front of her. It was a red Camry year 2000 model. Yoko got out of the car wearing black dress pants, shoes and a white buttoned up long sleeve shirt.
"Are you ready to go Inoue-Chan?"
The young man grabbed her hand gently guiding her to his car. He even opened the door for her. After closing the door he went back to his driver's seat.
"Sorry about the car. It's not very appealing."
"I don't mind at all. You have a nice car. I can tell you take good care of it." This was her honest opinion..
He laughed nervously giving out a sigh of relief. "You're such a kind person. You look beautiful tonight."
"Thanks. And, you look great too. Where are we going?"
"An Italian restaurant called Maggiano's Little Italy."
The restaurant was crowded. It had an nice, classy and somewhat relaxed atmosphere. There was even a piano near the seating area. It looked kind of like and expensive hotel except it was a restaurant. Many more people walked in with presents headed upstairs to the banquet area. The young lady has been to a few upscale places more pricy than this. Orihime hasn't been here before but. She liked it. She couldn't tear her eyes away from the waterfall.
"Inoue-Chan we're going to be seated. I made a reservation."
He pulled a chair out for her than took a seat across from her. She took off the white shawl that was wrapped around her arms.
"Would you like to order your drinks now?" The male waiter asked.
"A bottle of Pinot Grigio. Is that okay with you?"
"Yes, it's fine." The gentle lady responded.
"So, what do you do for a living?"
"Well, I don't really consider it a job."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Yamimaru was a bit confused.
"I'm the heir to all Ume Hotels. There's a few outside Tokyo but, not out of Japan. I wanted to expand worldwide once I take over the business." She really hoped he wasn't intimidated by her status.
His eyes looked like they wanted to pop out. "Holy shit-"
"Here's you wine."
"Thanks sir. Here's a toast to our first date. He raised his wine glass up, it faintly clashed against hers. "I know that this is cheesy."
"No, it's not. It's very sweet." Orihime smiled sweetly at her date.
"You're such an angel."
"Would you two like to order your food?"
"I barely looked at the menu." The red head skimmed through the menu much like Yoko for a few seconds.
"Chicken parmesan. Inoue-Chan what about you?"
"I'll have . . . Um lasagna."
"Would you like soup or salad?"
They said soup at the same time. There was bread placed at they're table. They ate some bread to tide them over while they wait for the main course. "This bread isn't half bad. How often do you eat Italian food? It seems you haven't tried many dishes."
"You're right. My parents usually took me to Japanese restaurants, really fancy ones. And, we didn't go out to dinner too often. Sometimes I'd order pizza. Let's talk about you?"
"I've always lived in Japan. My family falls in a middle class status. A little more than enough to make a decent living with some money to spare. I'm the only child. This is my natural hair color." He pointed to his head and laughed at his own joke." I work at a local bakery and live in a two bedroom apartment with my quiet yet suspicious roommate."
She couldn't help but laugh. He seemed to be a real character. "How is your roommate suspicious?"
"He's barely home. He comes home at odd hours of the night and doesn't speak much."
"Oh no! Is he a criminal?" Orihime became worried at the thought.
"I sure hope not." Yoko sipped the last of the wine in his glass and poured more into it.
The waiter finally came with the food after waiting for nearly an hour.
"Damn, did he go to Italy just for our food? It took forever." He was slightly irritated.
She giggled at his statement considering it was quite a stretch. Inoue was having fun for the first time in a long time. It was really refreshing. Neither one wasted anytime eating. But, for some reason she couldn't keep her eyes off his plate. "Is it good?"
He let her take a sample off his plate. She really liked the dish he had and went for seconds. "This is good. I haven't tried it before."
"Can I have my plate back?" The man asked with a hint of sarcasm. Orihime apologized instantly. Yami didn't have a problem with it and told her it was nothing to worry about. The ordered dessert before leaving the table.
She took another sip of her wine. Before they could leave out the door they saw a man playing the piano. They couldn't hear it too clearly until the two was near the door. The orange haired lady tipped the man $100.
She surprised him yet again. "A hundred dollars? You only tipped the waiter twenty because you insisted on tipping him."
"It was the least I could do for you paying for dinner and bringing me to this nice restaurant."
"He is good but-"
He placed her small purse on the piano and took her hand.
"You wanna dance?"
Orihime nodded her head in agreement and placed her other hand in his and let him lead the way. Many stopped and stared at them. The only people dancing in the restaurant. He pulled her closer to him, placing one hand around her waist. Inoue rested her hand on his shoulder.
"What a cute couple" A lady in the crowd commented with admiration.
"They think we're a cute couple." He couldn't help but smile at his beautiful date. Orihime blushed brightly in response.
"You're too cute when you blush." Yami teased.
Almost an hour passed before Orihime and Yamimaru came back to reality. The lonely girl was sad that the date had ended. She had so much fun. The car was already parked in front of her hotel.
"You want to come in?"
"I really want to but, I want to get to know you better first."
"Maybe next time?"
"Of course." Yamimaru leaned over to Orihime, lightly brushing her hair from her face and kissed her lightly on the lips. She kissed him back and said her goodbyes.
I'm glad that I'll get to see him again. Maybe I won't be alone anymore.
A/N: I know that there may not be a Maggiano's in Japan. I've never been out of America so I wouldn't know for sure. I hope you enjoy this chapter. I'd like to thank everybody who has read, followed, faved and reviewed this story. I really appreciate it. I'll get to Ichigo's story soon. Please be patient.
