"I don't know Mom. I could bet Holly doesn't even know I exist," I said.
"Bella, sweetheart. Her mother had to tell her didn't she? Holly isn't much younger then you Bella. Holly would want to know more about her father's side of the family eventually," Mom said.
"You know that her mother couldn't have told her! See what happened with me? I've known for a few minutes Mom," I said.
"I think you just need some time to decide Bella. I can take Leah home and you can stay here. Just forget about spending time with Charlie," she said.
I shook my head.
"No Mom. I overreacted okay? It's been a long few days with you here and…with Renee coming and telling me these things it hasn't gotten any easier," I said.
She picked up a strand of my hair in between her fingers and brushed through it. It felt good and I felt relaxed.
"Sweetheart that is what happens when you have newborn twins and a family to be around. You can't expect to do everything on your own," she said.
I put my head on my mom's shoulder and felt like I wanted to cry. I was tired, and of course, I still had the horrible car ride back to Chicago.
I heard the door open to the girls' room and looked up to see Edward walking towards me. When he came over to the couch, he sat next to me and took my hand in his. I didn't bother to waste time switching over to cuddle with him instead of my mother.
"I'll leave you two to talk. I'm going to get Leah," Mom said as she got off of the couch and walked off.
Once my mother was gone out of the room I looked over at Edward.
"Are we still going?" he asked.
"I don't know. I don't know if I want to see him again. After he lied to me so much," I said burying my face back into his arm.
"Bella, baby," he sighed.
"I think the only reason you were never told the truth was for your safety. If your father, Denny, is or was as bad as Sue said then….then do you really want to meet him? He sounds like the worse person in the world," he said.
"I know he sounds pretty bad, but Edward. What if he had changed in eighteen years? If I don't go then I will never know if has changed from being a total butt to being an actual father/uncle," I said.
"What if he didn't?"
"Then….then I don't know what to do. If he didn't, he didn't. If he did then I know we can work out something between us. He is my dad Edward," I said.
"I don't want you getting hurt Bella," he said.
I lifted my head from his shoulder with a…different, look on my face.
"I know you don't want me getting hurt Edward, but…" I said.
"I just don't know what to do anymore. Everything is going so wrong," I said.
"Nothing is perfect," he said.
"Why did I ever tell Angela to even turn on her phone? I regret every word that night."
"Calm down baby," he said.
"Why should I calm down Edward? Everything is messed up!" I said, taking my face away from his shoulder and putting my head in my hands.
He instantly began to rub my back.
I felt the tears begin to form in my eyes seconds later. Everything is going so wrong and I'm so tired of this.
I heard a cry, and it wasn't my cry, but it was our daughter's.
"I'll get her."
I wiped the tears from my eyes and shook my head.
"I'll do it Edward. Maybe I'll feel better," I replied.
I got up from the couch and walked over to the girls' room. When I opened the door, I saw Aurora in her car seat crying her little eyes out.
I picked her up from her car seat and started to pat her back. She didn't stop crying and I knew she wouldn't, so I went over and I put a bottle on the warmer.
It wasn't long before I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Want me to hold her while you wait?"
I looked back at Edward, and I slightly smiled.
I nodded at him and I turned around to hand our crying baby to him. When Aurora was in his arms, her cry's instantly died down. She was only slightly whimpering in Edward's arms.
"Yeah? Daddy always knows what to do to calm his girl down doesn't him?"
I smiled at him as I looked over at the bottle warmer to see it was finally done.
"She really loves her daddy doesn't she?" I asked, smiling.
"You know it. Aurora is gonna be a daddy's girl when she is older."
"What about Charlotte?" I replied.
"Oh she'll be a daddy's girl too. They're gonna adore me you know?" he grinned.
"Except when they're teenagers. Then they'll hate us," I said.
I looked over at Charlotte to see her still in her crib, I wonder why she was still in her crib and not in her car seat?
"Why is Charlotte still in her crib?"
"I put her back in her crib while you were talking to your mother. She was not happy in her seat."
"Why didn't you put Aurora in her crib?" I asked.
"Aurora was asleep, and I didn't want to wake her up," he said.
"Was Charlotte awake?" I asked.
"She was wide awake, yes," he said.
"She's asleep now it seems," I replied.
I handed Edward Aurora's bottle and he carefully set it in her mouth. She instantly began to guzzle it down.
I stood a few inches closer to Edward, and set my head on his shoulder.
"Only if Charlotte was awake," I said.
"Why?" he asked.
"If she was, and I was holding her right now, we'd have a neat family photo," I replied, smiling.
"We are a neat family as it is," he said.
"I love you Edward."
"I love you too baby, so so much," he said.
I'm sorry I haven't updated since the ninth of last month. I guess life just took a wrong turn for me.
First. My ACT score came back...and I'm stressing out about re-taking it this June.
Second. I got writer's block...on just about everything but my new story (will post as soon as finished. You can find the summary in my group, which is on Facebook).
Third. It's almost my last year of being in this place, thank god for that,
and Finally...school work. Lots and lots of school work.
What did you think? It's a bit jumbled and all over the place, but that's because I wrote half it during the writer's block and the other half the other night.
I hope you guys don't hate me! If you're still reading, thanks...thanks for sticking with me.
P.s.- Story is almost over! I'm thinking about 52 Chaps for the final (We're on 41 now) number of chaps, not counting possible outtakes :)
