So this is just a little one shot about Frodo and the journey to destroy the ring. Don't know why I've written it, the idea was suddenly there, you know? :)

I don't own anything!

Now it's been ten years. Ten years since I left Hobbiton with the One Ring. Ten years since Sam, Merry and Pippin helped me to escape the Black Riders and since I met Aragorn. Well, back then he was Strider and a really dirty and scary fellow. I didn't trust him at first, but then I started to like him. Even though he was always very serious, he was also friendly and sometimes he was even funny. And he told us great tales of the old ages.

Ten years since the dark night on Weathertop. The wound has never healed completely…

Ten years since the council of Elrond, where we decided what should happen to the Ring… I'll take the Ring. Even if I don't know the way...

We were nine fellows. Sam, my faithful and honest friend; Merry and Pippin, the troublemakers who didn't know what they were getting themselves in; Aragorn, the courageous warrior; Boromir, who wanted to save Minas Tirith, his city; Legolas and Gimli, the elf and the dwarf who couldn't have been more different from each other, but nevertheless they became friends and Gandalf, the wizard from a distant land, who was always there when we needed him. All of them were my friends; together we got through the worst dangers. They gave me the courage to fulfil my task and destroy the ring.

Ten years since Gandalf fell into the darkness in Moria and returned as the white wizard. I am Gandalf the White. And I come back to you now - at the turn of the tide.

Ten years since Sam and I went to Mordor with Gollum, who wanted the Ring even though he denied it.

Ten years since we met Faramir, the brother of Boromir. We met him in Ithilien. At first, he thought that Sam and I were spies of Sauron, but then he realized that that wasn't true. He didn't try to take the Ring, like his brother did. He helped us to get to Mordor and broke some rules to do it. I think at last we understand one another, Frodo Baggins. You know the laws of our country - the laws of your father. If you let them go your life will be forfeit. Then it is forfeit. Release them.

Ten years since the Ring was finally destroyed. But without Gollum, I wouldn't have been able to do it. Many that live deserve death. And some that died deserve life. Can you give it to them Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill, before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many. Gandalf was right; it was good that Bilbo hadn't killed him. If he would have done it, Middle Earth would have perished.

Ten years since Aragorn became the king of Gondor. I can remember it as if it was yesterday. Now come the days of the King, and may they be blessed while the thrones of the Valar endure!

My friends, you bow to no one.

Well, here at last, dear friends, on the shores of the Sea comes the end of our fellowship in Middle-earth. Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil.

It's been ten years

And I wish I could return to Middle Earth
