As I ran into him at the coffee shop, my heart skipped ten beats. I looked up from my phone and instantly met his eyes. They were bright blue and radiant as ever. His teeth were crescent commercial perfect. His skin was a glowing golden color that I have never laid my eyes on before. I felt as if my whole world has stopped.
"You're-you're-you're…" but I couldn't seem to remember what I was saying as I realized the man I was standing in front of I had known for years. I watched him from afar and I knew his personality so well. The man I was standing in front of was my favorite YouTuber, Joey Graceffa.
"I'm gonna be late. Not to be rude, but can you move. You're kind of in my way," his first words to me. His voice had broken the what seemed like minutes of silence.
"You're Joey Graceffa!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, and I'm gonna be late. I'm glad you're a fan. I'd stop and chat but I have to be somewhere right now and I'm so late."
"Oh, yeah, sorry. I'll move. I just can't believe I met you. This is probably the best day of my life," I say as I fully come back to reality and move out of his way.
"Wait, what's your name?"
"Kayla, I'm Kayla."
"Well, let me make it up to you. Meet me here at noon tomorrow. I'll buy you a coffee and take a picture with you then," he winks and as he walks away and my eyes gaze to that firm and tight bottom of his.
"Sure, okay," I stutter.
The most exciting thing to happen to me in my eighteen years on this earth has just occurred. When I moved to Los Angeles I knew possibilities were going to happen, but I never thought so soon. I came to California to go to school and fulfill my dreams as a photographer and director, not to meet the man of my dream although I am amazing with that happening.
I was so excited that I had met Joey that I left to coffee shop without even ordering anything. Seeing him was all the caffeine I needed. I felt as if there were a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. I had just met Joey Graceffa. THE Joey Graceffa.
I walked out of the coffee chop doors, my head in the clouds. My heart was beating a million beats a minute. I felt as if I couldn't breathe. I couldn't stop thinking about the moment that just happened. In fact, I almost thought it was happening again. Actually, it was.
"We've got to stop meeting like this," his mouth widened to reveal his pearly whites.
"Well, my plans were cancelled. I was gonna do a video with Grace, but…"
"Grace? Grace Helbig? As in DailyGrace?"
"Yes, DailyGrace," he giggled as he said. "Anyway, I was on my way over there. I was supposed to be there at eleven, but the coffee shop was so busy and then she called and something came up, anyway. I was wondering if we could do that making it up to you thing right now. But if you have somewhere to be then we could just stick to our original plan."
"No, no, no, no! I don't have any plans. I'd love that. I'm Kayla, by the way," I say as I grab his hand and shake it.
"Joey," his eyes locked with mine and it felt as if his smile were a hug wrapping around me and so warm.
"I know," I smile back at him.
"Do you still want coffee? I have Grace's here. I know, kind of a hand me down, but I think you'd like it better. Vanilla Caramel Cappuccino. Kind of an original work by yours truly. I order an original and add my own twist to it, which I kind of would like to do with you. I mean, with this date, I mean…"
"I know what you mean." I smile.
"Grab my arm and walk with me, Kayla. I'd let to get to know to girl behind the sparkling eyes you have," I took hold of his arm as he put it out. His body felt warm and my hand fit right into the shape between his muscles. I could tell this day was going to be perfect already.
