Disclaimer: I don't own the protector of the small quartet.
I'm currently in the university library trying to find out if anyone's ever done what I want to do. I'm also trying to work up the nerve to tell my teachers. I wonder what they'll say when I tell them I'm going for my knighthood instead of becoming a healer. What's this book about it doesn't seem to be about medicine or the gift like all the other books are. It's called First Test. I turn it over to read the back; and then there's a bright flash and I'm in a room with four other people. I knew two of them by sight Alanna the lioness-the king's champion, and Raoul of Goldenlake and Malorie's point. One of the other ones I knew by the scars on his face- my lord Wyldon of Cavall. The last was a complete mystery to me-she was five feet tall, with brown hair cut as short as a boy with hazel eyes under long lashes. I wonder how old she is.
"Why are we here?" I asked, hoping that they knew. They just shrugged their shoulders.
"Let's do introductions. I'll go first. I'm Alanna the lioness."
"I'm Raoul of Goldenlake and Malorie's point."
"Wyldon of Cavall."
"Keladry of Mindelan."
"I'm Nealan of Queenscove." I said with a flourish.
"Did you see a flash right before you came here?" I asked Alanna.
"Yes, I was about to read the back of a book when I saw a flash. Then I was here."
"The same thing happened me." We all said at the same time. There was another flash and we all looked down to see a note on the table next to the book I was going to read and a note. Alanna picks up the note and reads it out loud to us.

Love, the great mother goddess
"Well you heard her lets read." I said quickly. They all nodded their agreement.
"Who wants to read first?" I ask.
"I will." Keladry says.
She picks up the first book and begins to read in a steady voice as devoid of emotions as her face.
Please tell me what you think good or bad criticism welcome.
