A/N: Thank you for building me up, guys! I hope I can make it up to you with this chapter! Hope you like it!

And Meresger: You're right! Media is pushing CS so hard and it nearly kills me! Like you said, we have to keep the SF spirits high.
There's still hope.

Chapter 10-Some reunion

"Bae?"

Gold was shocked. He examined the stranger in disbelief and with curiosity.
Could this man really be his son? Could it really be?

"Can it really be you?"

Neal tightened up, took a deep breath and looked the older man straight into the eyes.
He wasn't able to so say any word at the moment; he was just looking at his father. A father he hasn't seen since centuries. A father he thought he'd never see again.
Emma could see how much effort it costed Neal not to cry. She still didn't know how to feel about him but she could sense that there's indeed a bunch of unfinished business between theses two.
Gold stepped forward, weeping and raising his hands to touch Neal's face. Of course, he's changed throughout the years but his eyes, they were still the same.

"You came back for me, Bae."

"It's Neal now."

"Neal...I thought I'd never see you again."

Neal, who couldn't bear the close distance to his father turned away.

"So did I, dear old dad. But things have changed. Emma needs my help. Your help. That's the only reason I'm here."

"You two know each other? How?"

"That doesn't matter now. Like I said, we need your help."

"Bae, please. We need to talk."

"No, I don't want to. I'm done with you."

"Bae..."

Emma could sense how Gold's ached by his son's words.
She touched Neal's arm. She could feel how upset he was.

"Maybe you should give it a try..."

"No! This man doesn't deserve any chance. Not after everything he's done. Not after everything you've put me through."

Neal stepped backwards and rushed his hands through his hair. Emma could see that he tried to suppress his tears. She knew that expression of his exactly. It was rare but sometimes when he had a nightmare or something like that, he was so scared and upset. Just like a little child and she always thought how lost and alone he looked in these moments.
And right now, he was acting the same. Again, she could see a little lost boy who had been hurt.

"All I want is a chance to be heard. I'm so sorry, Bae. I'm so terribly sorry."

Neal suddenly let out a laugh.

"You're sorry, huh? What are you sorry for, papa?"

He was now yelling at him.

"For abandoning me? For letting me go? For chosing magic, your power over me? You know what? I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I've been so foolish to believe you. To believe that you are actually able to change."

"I have changed, Bae. You have to believe me! I regret letting go of you and I wish I could undo my mistake."

"You can't and you won't. See, your just a coward who broke a deal. Something you've been oh so strict with. And you're right, every deal comes with a price. Every magic comes with a price. And this time, you're the one who has to pay it. You alone."

Neal was breathing heavily and tried hard to hold himself together.

"There has to be a way for me to make it up to you, Bae."

"There isn't and I don't want to talk about it anymore."

"Bae..."

"It's Neal and no! Stop it! We're here because we need your help and if you want to do the right thing then help us. "

Gold stepped back defeated.

"Allright. What can I do for you, dearie?"

Emma looked over to Neal who still tried to calm himself down and then over to , who looked as miserable as his son did.

"Tell me how to break the curse."

"I see. So you finally believe it."

"Indeed I do. But how do you remember anything? I thought everyone in this town except Regina lost their memories."

Gold walked behind his counter where he sat down.

"I didn't. That was until you came into town."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Emma followed Gold and was now standing right in front of him.

"You're the savior, dearie. You're destined to break the curse. When you arrived, the curse weakened which is why I could remember. You're magic made it happen."

"My...magic? What are you talking about?"

"Well, you're the product of true love, the most powerful magic that exists. That makes you magical, too. And with that magic you'll break this curse."

"Yeah, and how am I supposed to do that?"

"That I don't know, dearie. There are many ways to break a curse. Powerful undoing spells, sacrifices, true love's kiss... Whatever it is, you'll make it. "

"But how?"

"Nobody knows how, dearie. It could be anytime, anyway. Only you can influence it. There's just one thing that you can be sure of: This curse will be broken on you're 28th birthday. That's what the prophecy says."

"So, we're just supposed to wait for it?"

"I guess so, dearie."
