3 Years Later
This was pure bliss. Viewing London from the London Eye, a glass of champagne in her hand, and her husband's arms around her, Jess felt happier than she ever had before.
Husband. She loved the sound of that. For the past few days, Jess had loved being able to call Nick her husband. Since they had declared that they were all in three years earlier, Jess had loved every moment of her relationship with Nick. She loved that he was always finding small ways to show her how much he loved her. She loved his endless support and encouragement. She loved that he pushed her to try new things and inspired her.
They had come a long way in the past three years. Of course they had their hardships. They struggled when Nick went back to law school and the pressure started getting to him. But Jess did her best to support him, giving him time when he needed it and listening when he wanted to talk. They faced challenges again when Jess had a pregnancy scare. Nick promised her that he would be there for her and although she believed him, she worried that they weren't ready to be parents. Admittedly, she was relieved when she got her period a week later. They broke up briefly when they thought they wanted different things. But they got back together when they realized it was harder to be apart then it was to be together. Despite everything, Jess and Nick knew that they wanted to be together and were willing to work to make their relationship work.
Now, she could finally call Nick her husband. They had a small wedding back in LA, just close friends and family. They had been saving up money so that they could spend their honeymoon traveling Europe for a few weeks, something that they both had dreamed of doing but had never had the chance to before. Now here she was. In London. With her husband who she was madly in love with.
Jess looked up at the love of her life, unable to wipe the smile that had been on her face since their wedding. She gazed into his eyes. Nick gazed back.
"I am so in love with you," Jess said.
"Well it's a good thing you married me then," Nick chuckled.
"Shut up and kiss me you idiot," Jess laughed back.
Nick bent down and kissed Jess. She kissed him back passionately, excited for the adventures still to come.
