I sighed and rolled over in bed and lay there wide awake on a Wednesday morning. It had been a week and a half since I had broken my ankle. My mom still had me on bed rest and because she was a nurse, the school couldn't exactly argue with her. At first I didn't mind. I didn't feel like walking around all day. The first couple days the pain was almost unbearable. Hell, I'm still taking ibuprofen back to back. Sadly though, lying in bed all day turned out to be quite lonely so had been sleeping pretty much since I got home from the hospital, hence why I was now wide awake. I sighed again and stared at the ceiling debating for a few seconds.

"YEAH?" I heard him yell up the stairs.

"I'M LONELY!" I replied. I heard him walking up the stairs a few seconds later.

"What about your online friends you talk to all the time?" He questioned as he entered my room.

"They're all in school." I sighed.

"Oh, right…." He said.

The girls had been taking turns bringing me my homework in the afternoons. Allison came with my work once a week and Lydia came the other 4 days. After a few days of them bringing me homework, I realized everything was way easier than it should be considering I hadn't been there in class. So I had called the school and had them change my schedule, YET AGAIN, and this time I was in more advanced classes. The bonus was I now had more classes with Lydia; the down side was I now had fewer classes with Scott and Stiles.

"You know what we should do dad." I stated and looked into his eyes.

"What should we do sweetheart?" He asked rolling his eyes and sitting at the foot of my bed.

"We should get a puppy."

"Alright," he stated leaning forward, a sign that he was at least considering the idea. "What kind of puppy?" He asked.

"A chocolate lab." I replied immediately, remembering our old chocolate lab, Mousse.

He smiled. "Alright, I'll have to run it by your mom first," he said but I cut him off.

"Nooooooo! She'll take too long to decide!" I whined.

"Then what do you suggest we do missy!" He asked playfully.

"Get one now and ask forgiveness later?" I said.

He sighed. "Fine, but you take all the blame if she gets mad."

I nodded furiously. "Of course, I'll even take the blame for you letting me get out of bed."

He got up and walked to my door.

"Dad." I said and he turned. "Can we go now?"

He laughed, "Give me like half an hour. Let me call Bill and see if he knows any purebreds in the area."

I grinned and nodded excitedly. At least I wouldn't be lonely anymore.

My dad came in my room 45 minutes later.

"Okay," My dad stated as he walked in my room. "Bill said he knows a guy in the next time over whose puppies just turned 9 weeks old. All we have to do is go pick one out and get all the necessary vet information."

I was practically vibrating with excitement. I couldn't wait.

"Do you wanna go now or-"

I cut him off before he could finish. "YES!"

He chuckled. "Okay. Put on some real clothes-AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T RUSH AND HURT YOURSELF EVEN MORE."

"Please, like that would-" He cut me off with a pointed look. "Yeah, okay it would happen…."

Here I was an hour later in the back seat of my car, which my dad decided to claim as his since I never use it anyway, with my new puppy in my lap. My dad was driving on us to the animal clinic so we could drop off his papers and have Deaton tell us the stuff we had to do in terms of shots and vaccinations.

We got to the clinic and my dad parked the car then helped me out and handed me my crutches. He grabbed the folder and the leash and hooked it on the puppy's collar and walked into the animal clinic. He was trying to hold the door open for me, seeing as I was behind him, when Scott appeared at his side and held it open for me. I nodded and smiled at him in thanks. Scott returned to his place behind the counter. I approached the counter as my dad set the folder down and bent over to pick the puppy off the ground and placed him on the counter as well. Probably so I could pet him. I leaned one of my crutches against the wall while dad banded an arm around my waist, supporting the majority of my weight. I reached out to pick up my puppy but before I could he clumsily ran towards Scott and started rubbing his face on Scott's stomach.

"Looks like Allison isn't the only one who likes you Scott." I giggled.

Scott laughed and picked up him and held him in the air. This was the scene that Deaton walked in on. He walked in with a smile on his face.

"Who is this little guy?" Deaton questioned as Scott set him back down on the table and he ran back to me.

"This is my new puppy, and your new patient." I replied as I picked up.

"Well does this little one have a name?" Scott asked with a smile.

"Hmmm," I started, looking my dog in the face. "I think I'll name you…..Bear."

"Bear?" My dad questioned, obviously amused. "What are we sticking with naming our dogs after other animals?" My dad laughed.

Scott gave me a weird look. So I explained.

"Our old chocolate lab was named mousse. Most people assume we named him after the animal, but we named him after chocolate mousse, cause was about the same color as it."

"That's actually really creative." Scott said.

"Yeah well, mom named him." I replied.

"Okay," Deaton cut in, "it appears that he's already had his first vaccination of DHLPPC. You'll need to bring him in next week for his second vaccination. I recommend that we go ahead and give him his first vaccination for Bordatella, also known as kennel cough, and Lyme disease then as well. I'll give you a refill of his heartworm medication then too." He informed me and my dad.

"Okay. We'll make sure to bring back sometime during the week." I replied.

He nodded and walked into the back room with the file.

"You go ahead and go put him in the car. I'm gonna be a minute." I told my dad, handing him the puppy and he nodded and walked to the car.

"When you coming back to school?" Scott questioned.

"Pfft, who knows." I laughed, grabbing my other crutch off the wall and put it back in its proper place under my arm. "Knowing my mom," I started, "she'll probably keep me on bed rest for another week or two." He nodded so I continued.

"It's only been a week. With broken ankles, the pain is supposed to dissipate after around 2-3 weeks."

"That really sucks dude." Scott said.

"Yeah it does….." I trailed off. "Anyway, I gotta get going, my dad is waiting on me."

My eyes slowly fluttered opened to reveal an irate Lydia standing in front of my door.

"Why weren't you answering your phone?!" She demanded.

"Well obviously Lydia it was because I was sleeping." I mumbled tiredly pulling Bear closer to me. "What time is it? And what are you even doing here?" I questioned with a yawn and Bear started licking my face. Lydia's features softened at the picture.

"Well for starter," Lydia said sitting on the end of my bed, "its noon." Bear jumped up and walked over to Lydia who mindlessly started petting him.

"Second, I'm here because we're going shopping." She stated happily.

"Okay a couple things." I said. "One, it's a Tuesday. Shouldn't you be in school? Second, my mom still has me on bed rest."

"Okay well I skipped school and it's a good thing I cleared it with your mom first." She replied.

I groaned into my pillow. "Fine, but if I'm leaving the house, then I need to shower and get dressed." I said throwing back the covers.

"Yeah you really do." She replied agreeing. I got up and started to hop to my closet when Lydia spoke up.

"Nuh uh," she said, "you go get in the shower I'll pick out what you're going to wear."

I raised my hands in surrender and went into the bathroom.

I had been in the shower for about 10 minutes when Lydia came in and told me she put my clothes on the counter and would be waiting for me in my room.

I got out of the shower and looked at the outfit Lydia picked out for me. I looked at the clothes and realized none of it was mine, not even the underwear. The only thing that was mine was the bra, which I soon realized was my only push up bra.

"LYDIA!" I scream. "WHAT IS THIS!?"

"The skirt and shirt are mine, so is the thong but it was one I bought last year and never wore." She said from my bedroom. I groaned and started getting dressed anyway. My boobs are big enough as it is so I didn't really understand why she gave me my push-up bra.

I looked in the mirror when I was done. I stood wearing a black leather mini skirt that ended just above mid-thigh. The shirt had short sleeves and a low scoop neck. I tilted my head to the side at that. Coming to a decision, I took off the shirt and opened the door, not even caring that I was only wearing my bra. Lydia was lying on my bed playing with Bear, her phone sitting next to her. I threw the shirt at her face.

"Hey!" She shouted.

"Lydia did you even look in my closet?" I asked as I searched through the hangers.

"…nooo…" She admitted.

"Well if you did, you would have saw that I have a better top to go with this skirt." I said still flipping. Lydia stayed where she was but now she was watching me as I searched.

"What's his name?"

I turned to see Bear climbing on top of Lydia and snuggling up with his face in her neck.

"Bear." I replied and turned back to the task at hand.

"Well Bear, you are one adorable puppy!" She said to the pup.

"AHA! I FOUND IT!" I exclaimed. It was in the back of my closet, hiding from my dad. It wasn't exactly that he didn't know I had it so much as he just didn't really approve of it all that much. I turned back to Lydia, showing her the top. She got this huge grin on her face.

"Avery Black! I didn't know you had it in you!" She exclaimed with excitement. I merely shrugged. A red, halter top corset with black lace. I turned around, loosened the strings and pulled in on over my head. I got it situated on my bust and told Lydia to lace up the back. When that was done, I handed the ribbon like fabric of the straps to her to tie behind my neck. While I laced the ribbons on the sides of it. When we were don't we turned and looked in the mirror at the outfit. We looked at each other and grinned in success.

"Now go sit on the window seat and open the curtains, I'm going to do your makeup." She demanded.

I rolled my eyes but did as told. She went downstairs and when she came back, she was carrying a giant bag. My eyes widened as Lydia sat down the bag and got to work. Lydia had just finished doing the concealer and was about to start on my foundation when I spoke up.

"Lydia about how long is this gonna take?" I questioned.

"About an hour and a half, hour and 45 minutes tops." She replied casually. She must have caught my shocked expression so added, "I'm going to curl your hair when I'm done with your make up."

"Oh. Well if I'm gonna be sitting here that long do you think I could turn on the TV?" I questioned.

"Sure, it's not like I'm going to be watching it anyway." She replied.

I walked to the bed and picked up the remote and returned to Lydia and turned on the TV and opened Netflix. I put on the Top Gear Bolivia Special, my favorite episode and watched it while Lydia did her thing.
