I don't own Pride and Prejudice.
"Darcy you have to do something."
Fitzwilliam Darcy looked up to see a frazzled Elizabeth Wickham standing at his desk.
"What are you talking about Elizabeth?" he sighed.
"This something seems off." She slapped a piece of paper down on his desk.
"And what is that exactly?"
"A letter Georgiana sent me."
"Mmm hmm and what's wrong with it?'
"I can't put my finger on it but it seems off. I think we should go to Ramsgate."
"If I remember correctly you didn't want to go to Ramsgate something about the heat."
"Darcy now isn't the time."
"Miss Wickham you'll forgive me but I'm busy I'm sure you can find something to entertain yourself with."
"So you're just not going to listen to me is that how it is?"
"You haven't told me anything." He said In frustration and I'm not going to go off your gut feeling I'm a busy man. Why aren't you helping Mrs. Reynolds find someone to replace your father?"
Elizabeth gritted her teeth. "Fine I'll go and do that right now Mr. Darcy." Her tone laced and dripped with contempt. She stormed out of the room. William watched her go shaking his head. Elizabeth Wickham younger sister of George Wickham had an odd disposition at times, but they'd grown up together and he'd promised his father along with hers that he'd watch out for her. He was sure whatever she was mandering about now was something overdrawn. Elizabeth did like her Drama's something she and her brother had in common.
"Won't listen to me fine then I'll take things into my own hands." Elizabeth muttered clutching Georgiana's now wrinkled letter in her hand. She banged into her room slamming the door behind her. She pulled her travel bag from its place in her wardrobe and started to stuff dresses into it. Snapping it shut she walked to the servant's bell by her bed. Waiting impatiently for someone to answer.
"What can I do for you Miss. Wickham?" the Butler asked.
"Please have a carriage brought around."
"May I ask Miss where are you going?'
"Ramsgate and don't tell Mr. Darcy."
"Right miss." He bowed his way out of the room.
"She grabbed her Vassiel and stormed out of the room and down the gravel path to meet the carriage.
"Mr. Darcy." Dokins knocked on the heavy oaken door.
"Miss. Wickham is leaving."
"What do you mean leaving?" he demanded looking up from his paperwork.
"She ordered the carriage said she was going to Ramsgate.
"That girl." Darcy said through clenched teeth slamming his hand on the desk and causing papers to go fluttering to the floor. "And you ordered it?"
"Yes sir. It sounds like its pulling up the drive now."
"Move." Darcy growled causing the Butler to jump out of the way. He raced towards the door and pulled it open just in time to see Elizabeth climbing into the carriage. He raced forward placing his hand in place just before she could shut it.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"To Ramsgate" She sniffed "You won't listen to me but I'm going anyway."
"What in the world is in that letter that has you so worried?"
"Its not what's in the letter. Its what's not in the letter. Georgiana is always writing about anything and everything now she's writing about waves and sand but nothing about her day to day life nothing Darcy." She snapped.
Darcy huffed. "Ten minutes give me ten minutes to get ready and we'll go. I think you're being dramatic but you do know my sister well."
"Thank you." Elizabeth nodded as she watched him leave she leaned back against the seat. Ten minutes later they were on their way.
Neither knowing what they would find in the sea side town.
A/N so I thought what if Elizabeth was Wickham's sister and it was her that sent Darcy to Ramsgate not because Georgiana wrote about Wickham but because of what she didn't write. Anyway hope you enjoy.
