Hello lovelies? How we on this Friday and at the beginning of the Klaropocalypse? It's been quite a while since I update this (hopefully there are still some readers), sorry for the long wait, there is a lengthy note at the bottom of this as well as one in my profile to explain.

This is largely unbetaed, klarolineepiclove read it over for me and gave me the all clear but I'm sorry for any grammar errors. Or if it sucks.

First Morning

Though warm sunlight flooded the room, Caroline woke shivering. Sleepy eyed and confused, she reached down to pull up the covers, further confused when her hand only found a small fragment of bedding. She yanked on it a few times but to no avail. Opening her eyes completely, she looked over and saw why.

Lying on his back on the other side of the bed, snoring softly, Klaus looked utterly content wrapped up in the missing bedding. Caroline couldn't help but smile at the picture he made; she never pegged him for a cover hog. The two of them had been sleeping together for months, yet this was the first time they'd ever spent the night together.

The previous day Caroline had come home to find they had no water. After a visit from the plumber, they discovered that there was a broken pipe. It was an easy fix but not one that would be a quick one which meant they would be without water during that time, not a huge inconvenience, unless you had a two year old. She had planned to stay at a hotel or possibly with Stefan and Rebekah but Klaus had quickly shot down her plan.

He said there was no reason for her to stay at either one of her choices when he had more than enough room for the two of them to stay with him. It had only taken a moment for her to take him up on it, enjoying the idea of waking up next to him. That was, of course, before she found out he liked to steal the blankets.

Rolling closer to him, Caroline managed to steal back a bit of the covers before propping herself up on her elbow. She was almost positive that he had gotten more attractive since she first met him, though she had a suspicion part of that was due to the depths of her feelings for him. She had been cautious with her heart, and yet she had still fallen in love with him. Of course, Caroline had still not told him, not thinking he was ready to hear it yet. She knew he had issues believing that others could genuinely care about him, thanks to his stepfather and ex Genevieve. Instead, she tried to let her actions convey her feelings to him, and would speak them when the timing was right.

"You know watching someone else while they're sleepy is a tad creepy, love." Klaus mumbled while opening his eyes, blinking a bit so that he could clearly see the woman lying in the bed next to him. Her face was devoid of makeup, her hair up in a sloppy bun, but she looked as beautiful to him as ever. It was a wonderful sight to wake up to.

Smiling widely, Caroline defended herself. "I wasn't staring; I was plotting my revenge for waking me up early. Something I wouldn't be if someone hadn't stolen all of the blankets. I got cold."

"I'm sorry, how can I acquit myself?" He asked before he smiled wickedly at her, the blanket falling to the side as he slid towards her. "Perhaps by warming you up?"

Caroline knew exactly what he had in mind; something she thought was a spectacular idea, a great way to start the day. However as part of her revenge, she decided to tease him instead. Caroline grabbed hold of the material now free of his body to pull around herself. "There we go, warm and cozy."

"Oh I think we can do better than that." Klaus declared as he reached over, grasped her around her waist before he pulled her on top of him. Her laughter echoed through his bedroom before it turned into a gasp when she came into contact with a certain part of his anatomy that was very much awake. A gasp he swallowed as he covered her lips with his, his tongue snaking out to explore her waiting mouth.

Feeling his morning erection between them sparked the arousal that seemed to always be simmering beneath the surface whenever she was around Klaus, caused it to grow hotter, her need greater. Needing more friction, Caroline spread her legs to straddle him, before she ground against him to fan the flames even more. Her actions caused Klaus to groan against her lips, his hands moved along her body to grip her ass and guide her movements as they began to rut against each other, their kiss becoming more and more heated.

Breaking away from him, Caroline sat up before she reached for the hem of her top and pulled it up over her head. Klaus' eyes darkened even more at the sight of her bare breasts, the need to touch them overwhelming that he brought his hands up come to cup them immediately. His thumbs circled her quickly hardening nipples and making Caroline pant a bit at the feeling as he sat up to take one in his mouth.

"Mama? Mama!" Will's tiny voice filtered through the baby monitor set up on the bedside table.

Her son's voice calling out for her had the same effect on their activities as if someone had dumped a bucket of cold water on them. She could tell by the sound of Will's voice that he was simply not crying out in his sleep, he was quite awake and would not be happy until someone came to get him. Pulling her shirt back over her head, Caroline gave Klaus an apologetic look before kissing him lightly and leaving the room.

Klaus watched her go, knowing there was no point in trying to stop her and entice her into finishing what they had just started. It wasn't the first time that Will interrupted them, and he was certain it wouldn't be the last. It was something that was expected when you had a child around.

Lying on his back, Klaus closed his eyes and breathed deeply, trying to cool off from his and Caroline's brief tryst. Since she had not turned it off, he could hear Caroline and Will's voice through the monitor and he listened until it faded away. Once his libido had calmed down, he felt his body relaxing as well. He had almost nodded off again when for the second time that morning; he had the sensation of being watched. Turning his head to the side, he opened his eyes and about jumped out of his skin. Will stood there, a cup held out in front of him, staring at him. "Claws, juice."

Unable to keep back a chuckle at the absurdity of him being scared of a two year old, Klaus sat up, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed and running a hand over his face. "Hey buddy, you really need to make some noise and not sneak up on people. Where's your mum?"

"Breakfast." Will answered before waving the empty cup again at him. "Claws, juice. Puhleaze?"

"I think we can find you some and hopefully some coffee for me." Klaus replied. After picking Will up, the two of them made their way to the kitchen where they found Caroline working on pancakes, the coffee pot thankfully brewing away next to her.

Caroline turned when she heard the floor creak behind her, expecting to see Will but instead spied him in Klaus' arms. "I'm sorry if he bothered you. He asked me for something to drink but I guess he didn't want to wait and went looking for you."

"It's okay; I wouldn't have wanted to miss food after all." He assured her as he kissed her forehead then headed towards Will's highchair that Caroline had brought over with the rest of her stuff. Plopping him down in it, he set about getting the juice and his coffee.

The breakfast was one of the best Klaus had had in a long time, not just because the food was good, though it was, but also the company. Even when they were children, Klaus could only think of a handful of times where his siblings and he had sat down with their parents for breakfast, usually just fed by the staff before heading off to school. This breakfast was a complete one eighty from that, he helping Caroline where he could while they chatted and played with Will before sitting down together to eat. Like waking up next to her, Klaus found himself enjoying it greatly.

"I am so stuffed." Caroline said as she laid down her fork on her plate. Looking over, she saw that Will was still eating, or attempting to so she decided to start cleaning up.

"You do not need to clean up Caroline." Klaus stated while trying to stop her. "You cooked, I'll clean up."

"Don't be silly; consider it payment for letting us stay here." She said as she waved him off.

"I assure you sweetheart, no payment is necessary." He assured her as he leaned back in his chair, helping himself to more coffee and bacon. "Though while I don't mind time in the kitchen, I am not against someone else doing the cooking."

"I never thought I would enjoy cooking as much as I do." Caroline said. "I cooked with my dad when I was little and he taught me the basics. After he left, my mom threw herself into her work so there was a never ending stream of takeout and frozen pizzas. As an eleven year old, that was fun for a little bit but eventually I got really tired of it so I started using what he had taught me, something he continued to do on my weekends with him. But even then, it was more out of necessity and something to do with my dad."

"So what changed?"

"Two things, Will and my dad's death." She answered. "It hurt at first but it made me remember the fun times we had, just the two of us, at the store buying the food, prepping the ingredients, I enjoyed all of it. Well not the clean-up, I still hate that part."

Klaus couldn't help but smile a little at the way her nose crinkled in disgust at the idea of doing the dishes, something he knew she did not enjoy, not that many did. "And Will's part in your love of cooking?"

"I like that I know how to make him meals that are good for him and that he likes. To see his little face light up when he tries something new, or when he has the opposite reaction." Caroline said with a laugh, thinking of some of her son's more notable reactions to food he didn't enjoy. "I plan when he is a little bit older to teach him to make the food he enjoys, just like my dad did. Kind of keep a piece of him alive."

Feeling a little bit embarrassed by how sappy she sounded, Caroline couldn't help but blush a little, ducking her head as she did. "Sorry, that probably sounded really silly and corny."

"No, it didn't." Klaus argued.

"It's okay. I've always been told I was too sentimental about things, caring too much."

"You have a huge heart, love, especially when it concerns your son." He stated. "You want to do what is best for him, and it makes you a great mom. It's one of the things I love about you."

The words had left his mouth before he realized it. He had not meant to make such an admission and he hoped that Caroline would just brush it off. However considering the look she was giving him, he knew he had no such luck. This wasn't how he had planned to tell her the depth of his feelings for her; there was no taking it back. And when he saw her eyes were wide, with what he thought might be panic in them, Klaus worried that it was too soon. "I didn't mean to say that."

"You didn't mean to say that. Because you don't love that about me?" Caroline asked.

"No, that's not what I meant."

"First you said you didn't mean to say it but when I asked if it was because you don't love that about me, you said no to that too." She stated. "You have me completely confused Klaus. Because you just kind of said you loved me out of nowhere and I've wanted to tell you for a while that I loved you but now I don't know what to think."

"Let me explain." Klaus declared as he moved closer to her, bringing his hand up to her face to cup her cheek. "I meant what I said; I do love that about you. But when I saw your reaction, I panicked. I thought you believed it to be too soon."

Leaning into his touch, keeping her gaze locked on his. "I wasn't scared, just surprised. I wasn't expecting to hear you say that."

"You and me both Love." He admitted with a chuckle. "I've never been comfortable in regards to talking about emotions, to open myself up to someone else but I guess that's changed a bit now. Thanks to you."

Caroline couldn't help but smile at his admission, it made her chest feel as if it was swelling with emotion, emotion she couldn't hold back anymore. Biting her lip nervously, she brought her hands up to cover his on her face before saying. "I want to tell you something Klaus and you don't have to say anything back. I'm in love with you, and I have been for a while. And I'm not just saying it because of what you said, but because I want to."

"Good, because in case what I said earlier wasn't clear, I'm in love with you too." Klaus said just before he leaned forward to brush his lips against hers. Unlike their kisses earlier, it was slow and gentle, just a taste of the feelings that lie within them yet it ended in a very similar manner.

"Mama! Claws! More pease!" Will called out, breaking the moment and causing the two of them to laugh at the situation.

Turning towards the little boy who was wanting their attention, Klaus shook his head. "Will, we really need to work on your timing."

Sorry for the tease with the smut, but I hope I made up for it by showing you the first I love yous. Yes, they've been together for awhile, but those words aren't always the easiest things to say.

As for why it took me so long to update this, besides being super busy with my family and job in real life, (not to mention getting hacked and not having access to this account) for most of this year I've been experiencing very severe writing anxiety. I would have ideas to write, but then freeze when I went to do it, even getting mild panic attacks. It was so bad at one point that I thought of stop writing all together but I was never quite ready to give up so I didn't. I am slowly making my way through it and I appreciate your patience and support as I did.

Thank you again for reading. And please leave a review to let me know what you think.
