Nutella

Anxiety rolled off her in waves, and felt her heart beating from where he stood behind her.

He wanted her to overcome her fears, but it wasn't worth putting her through this just for him.

"You don't have to do this, Bella."

She nodded choppily. "I do." Tears escaped her tightly scrunched eyes. "You love that boat."

"I don't want to put you through this."

She shook her head, reaching for his hands to entwine their fingers. "I have to do this, Edward. Just the thought of you on the water sends me into a panic attack."

"I'll fucking sell it."

She had no idea where this fear of water came from, but it was profound and had kept her from lakes and beaches, and even from swimming pools, hot tubs.

Squeezing his hands, she inhaled deeply, and took a baby step into the water of the man-made lake.

Pride welled in his eyes, even as she trembled in his arms. "You're amazing, baby."

She scoffed. "I haven't even opened my eyes yet."

"But you haven't backed out yet. I'm right here with you. Whether you want to take another step, or if you want me to carry you out of this water right the fuck now."

She snorted. He made the f-word sound so sweet. "Your voice is calming. Keep talking to me?"

"I've always told you that you fell for me first because I fell in love with you when you tripped on your first day at Forks High."

She nodded, taking another small step.

"That's not entirely true."

She looked up at him over her shoulder; it was the first time he'd ever altered that claim in the eight years they'd been together. It was also the first time she'd opened her eyes since they'd stepped in the water.

He smiled at her. "Catching you was a reflex. I would have done it for anyone. But when I saw those chocolate pools in your eyes, they reminded me of Nutella. You know I love Nutella."

She turned to slap his shoulder. "You're such a dork."

"I really am. But I love you more than all the Nutella in that rumored Nutella restaurant in Italy."

"Thank you. For loving me and for helping me through this, and mostly for distracting me." She looked down at the shin-deep water and turned in his arms again to look out at the rest of the lake, taking slow, measured breaths.

He held her loosely, waiting for her mind to catch up the sensations of the water lapping against her legs.

Brushing a hand across his forearms, she looked ck at him. "I think I've had enough for the day."

"You did great, baby." He rubbed her back. "Want me to carry you out?"

She surprised him by shaking her head and moving to stand beside him, still tightly grasping his left hand. "I think I can walk out."

"Lead the way. Can we have Nutella and banana sandwiches for dinner?"

"Dork."

This is the last one. I FREAKING MADE IT!

Although I couldn't have without Geeky and maxamo and the other participants and fantastic reviews from readers and the twitter cheerleaders. Thank goodness slut-shaming is taboo now, because I'd do you all. ;)
