Hey everyone. As usual, I don't own Flashpoint, and please check out my profile for story ideas.
If anyone knows how to get in touch with the people who created Flashpoint, can you please tell them to come up with some books. They can be about things that happened before or after the show, or even go deeper into the characters mind during the show. Or a movie - or just bring the show back altogether. Who wouldn't be happy about that.
I would also like to apologize in advance for this story. This is the result watching 'Kate and Leopold' right before going to bed at 6:30 in the morning. I know it's cheesy and the words to the proposal is bad, but I really wanted to write a Kevin/Shelley story.
Wordy had taken Shelley to the park for a picnic dinner. Tonight was their 3 year anniversary and he was going to propose. Out loud he knew 3 years was a long time, but he'd had the ring for about a year and a half. He wanted to make sure she was ready; her last marriage was horrible, and he didn't want to make any mistakes. After the leftovers from dinner were neatly placed in the basket with the blanket draped over the top, Wordy had asked Shelley if she wanted to dance. He gently took her hand and they started to dance underneath the stars, listening to the music of the night.
''I've never danced before,'' she said, looking down at their toes worriedly.
''I'll go slow. Just keep your feet between mine, I'll guide you.'' He brought her hand to his lips and placed a tender kiss on her knuckles. They danced for what felt like forever, Kevin pulling her closer and bringing their joined hands to rest on his chest. Nuzzling his mouth close to her ear before leaning back just enough to look at her. He whispered, ''Shel, I want to spend the rest of my life memorizing every inch of you, to unlock the mysteries behind your eyes, discover the depths beyond your lips, everything about you is so magnetic to me, and when I have you in my arms, I don't want to let go, the only way I can goodbye to you, is knowing that soon, I'll be holding you again. Please allow me the ability to hold you forever. Shel, will you marry me?''
Shelley was so overcome with emotion she could only nod her head. Gently sliding the ring on her finger, he kissed her hand and drew her close again.
''Oh, Shel, don't let go, keep the beat in my heart forever,'' he said as they continued to dance into the night.
