A/N: I'm a procrastinator and my lovely beta, LovinRob, has a life so this has not been touched by her red pen. All mistakes are my own.
I wake with the feeling of the sun beating down on my back. I stretch my deliciously achy muscles. I smile thinking about last night. Thinking about Edward.
I roll over, expecting to find him still sleeping, but all I find is an empty bed with nothing but a wrinkled reminder of where his body was. I sit up and reach over, smoothing the sheets and shivering at the coolness. I shake my head. Of course he'd let himself out in the middle of the night. Of course, because why wouldn't he. I'm just me and he's... Well he's Edward Cullen, the young, hot shot doctor. Women of all ages want him and all the men want to be him.
We drank too much at the staff holiday party and had some fun. I just hope that things won't be too awkward at work. I frown at the thought of seeing him again.
I fall over on the bed, my head hanging over the edge. I notice that his baby blue cashmere sweater is shoved between the bed frame and the night stand. I pull it out and pathetically rub it on my face. It smells like him, crisp and clean, like cool fall mornings and fresh laundry. I slip my arms into the sleeves and pull the soft material over my bare torso. It's much too big for me but I don't care. It reminds me of him. And I allow myself to wallow in self pity for a few minutes before I push those thoughts out of my mind for good.
I'm sitting cross legged on the end of my bed, running my sleeve covered fingers across my lips when my bedroom door swings open. It startles me and I shriek, drawing my knees to my chest for protection.
"You look good in my sweater."
"Edward..." I whisper before clearing my throat. "I thought you left."
"I did, I went to grab us some coffee and treats," he says, smiling as he holds up the drink carrier and brown paper bag. "The little cafe around the corner has the best glazed croissants."
I smile shyly.
"You thought I left left, as in left you."
"Bella, last night was..." he smiles as he trails off.
He sets the bag down on the nightstand and kneels in front of me.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"Shush, woman, you're ruining my moment. Last night was easily one of the best nights of my life. I want more than one night with you, silly girl. If you'll have me."
I giggle, because I'm a girl like that and launch myself into his arms, knocking him on his ass, and I kiss the shit out of him.
"I guess that's a yes, then?"
He laughs and kisses me softly and we spend the rest of the morning on the floor, drinking coffee and nibbling on croissants, among other things.
A/N: And with this chapter, I will click the complete button. Thank you all for taking the time to read and review. It means so much to me. Thank you to my beta, LovinRob, for joining me on another journey. Hugs and kisses to you all. xo
