In rememberance of the victims of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attack...
Rest in peace.
Sam was sitting at her kitchen table waiting for Danny. He was coming over for a movie night...or at least was supposed to be. She glanced at her watch, the hour was getting later. He was supposed to have been there an hour ago, and she was sure he would've called. Biting her lip nervously, she waited a little longer. Thirty minutes passed and there was still no one in the drive way. She picked up her phone and texted Tucker, but only got a reply of "Haven't seen him. Why, is something wrong?" She assured him that nothing was wrong and looked back outside.
She sighed and was about to give up when her phone rang. Picking it up, a voice said something happened, that she should go to the hospital right now. On the way to the hospital, her mind wondered to December. She thought of when he asked her to prom, he had bent down on his knee first and held out a single black rose (her favorite). He'd said "I want you forever, forever and always. Through the good and the bad and the ugly. We'll grow old together, forever and always. Will you go to prom with me?" Of course she had said yes.
She pulled up to the entrance, and parked in a vacant spot in the small lot. She walked straight to the front desk and asked for him. The nurse gave her a grim look and asked her to follow her. She lead her down a million halls, it seemed to be a maze that never ended. They told her what happened, but she could barely hear them through her panic. She tried to keep a straight face as they entered his room. She sat by his bed, and held his hand that wasn't bandaged. He had several bandages covering his forehead, legs, mid section, arms and hand. They talked about the good times, the house on the hill side they hid out in on bad nights. The phrase Danny had said kept running through there heads.
Sam suddenly got an idea, and borrowed some rings from the couple in the room next door, called in the nurse and asked for the chaplain and he said a couple versus. Everbody was laughing as tears fell on the floor. She looked into his eyes and said "I want you forever, forever and always. Through the good and the bad and the ugly. We'll grow old together, and always remember. Wheather happy or sad or whatever, we'll still love each other, forever and always."
"Forever and always."
She finished the vows but, the beeps were getting too slow. His voice was almost too slow, as he held her face gently in his hand and said "I love you forever, forever and always. Please just remember, even if I'm not there... I'll always love you. Forever and always."
This comes from the song Forever and Always by Parachute. If you didn't understand why Danny was hurt, he had been attempting to save lives during the 9-11 attack. I know it wasn't very clear.
