"Shin-chan, is it a hassle to be with me?"

Sometimes, Kazunari asks the most thought-provoking questions; ones that at first reaction, Midorima would say yes, but would end up being no. "What's this all of a sudden?"

Kazunari rolls onto his back and stares at the ceiling, naked under the covers, looking thoughtful. "It was a close shave today, huh..." he mumbles to himself.

He hates it when Takao never finishes his thoughts once he starts them. "And your point is?"

"The paparazzi should just give up on me, shouldn't they," he laughs, dry and not amused at his own hopes. "You'd think I'd be a boring subject by now, and there are other artists who're more popular and newsworthy than me."

"Maybe if you kept a lower profile and stopped being so flashy, they will." Midorima isn't the consoling kind, and it sits oddly well with Takao—to the point that he feels uneasy about speaking so straightforwardly, to someone who's an idol of many, especially his female classmates (honestly, at 21, they still sound like adolescent teenage girls giggling over their first crush).

"But it's part of the packaging."

Midorima grips the blanket, willing his irritation to die down. He doesn't want to get angry at him, not when this is the first time in months they get to be physically together. "It's one or the other."

"I expect my agency would have a field day if they ever find out I'm going out with a guy."

The thought weighs heavily on his heart. It doesn't matter how many times Takao tells him he loves him, or that he'd like to be with him every day if it isn't for work and school getting in the way—in the end, it doesn't change the fact that they're from two entirely different worlds. Worlds that aren't meant to be crossed, not when Takao's career's on the line.

"—in-chan? Shin-chan, are you free next weekend?"

"Why?"

"There's a meteor shower, I want to watch it with you."

He is. "Don't you have work?"

"I'll work something out. Come on I want to see it with you!"

You shouldn't be so willful. They may tolerate you now, but we might not be so lucky next time. "No, I have exams to study for. Sorry."

I'm not worth your career.

Don't make me choose to let you go.
